- Bobby Vee, best known for hits including Rubber Ball, Take Good Care of My Baby and The Night Has a Thousand Eyes, has died at the age of 73. Vee released more than 25 albums in his career, retiring in 2011 after being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

I saw this fine gentleman many times in clear lake location at the surf ballroom , along with his sons!! O m g super performer!! He ended up filling in for buddy Holly after the plane crash in clear lake Iowa. He went on to Fargo north Dakota. Super guy, I'm honored to say l had breakfast with him , such a gifted man and voice!! Lots of beautiful singing going on up there now!!
He was my favourite when I was growing up. Take Good Care of My Baby still is my all time favourite song. Should be in the R and R Hall of fame. So many great hits. At age 68 I still strum and play and sing them today.

RIP, The night has a thousand eyes, and the sky has a million stars, the beach has so many grains of sand, there is no number for such. Just as there is no words to say this day, other than a moment of silence, in appreciation of a pop star, so nostalgic for today's generation, of which only us dinosaurs recall Bobby's hits; which were a constant on AM Radio in the day, 6 generations removed.

I agree! There are no words to express my deep sadness on this day!I had dementia in my family! It can lead to this! I pray that I don't ever get it! I pray for those who are dealing with it! PRAY FOR A CURE! AMEN! SUPPORT THE ALTZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION!
