I just installed it in to my car & the latency from the dashcam to my phone to get a live preview is insanely low... really good dashcam & hopefully it could survive with Australia's sun & heatwave
Great video! I'd be curious to see a follow up to this video. Maybe 6 months from now? I used a 4k front and 1080p rear. My summers don't get as hot as yours do out in Cali. I had to replace it, as the capacitor couldn't handle the temperatures it claimed. The cam cycled off and on, until I turned my AC on to full blast, and run it on defrost to blow cool air onto the unit. To be clear, it wasn't a DDPAI unit. I ended up switching to a 1440p front and 1080p rear, and have had no issues out of the new one. As always, thank you for your great videos!
@@SomeGadgetGuy It looks like you got a good stick on yours, if you did, it's a PAIN to get off. I had to use a razor to cut my old cam off, lol. If it does fail, you can buy replacement pads pretty cheap on Amazon.
Our family's 2 cars have been dashcam-ed since 2014 and have saved us big time multiple times. Once was a Tibetan guy turned into my sis' car and pushed her car into the car in the next lane. Cops came and the guy said nothing to do with him, it's the other 2 cars and he was there to help. My sis sent the video to insurance (all 3 cars have Geico) and they paid her the Tibetan guy's $10000 liability limit because the car was totaled. Another one was also my sis' car (the one the insurance money helped buy in part) got clipped by a FedEx truck. The FedEx driver said he didn't feel it but we said we have it on video so FedEx paid to have the front fender, bumper, and headlight repaired
Any other content creators you can recommend to help choose a dashcam? This was a great video and I'm just discovering my options. Would love to see more dashcam reviews. Thanks!
Got the wife a RedTiger F7N but I like the look of this one too. I'd say the camera is about the same quality. I need to get one for my truck as well. It's really amazing how many of the dashcam vid channels out there show how much of a difference it can make between 50/50 fault or even wrong being 100% at fault, and having no liability for an accident you're involved in. The video really does make all the difference. People with cameras just need to realize that just because you get a camera, doesn't make you automatically right in every situation....see that far too often where a cammer is clearly in the wrong and pretends they're right, just because they have one. Let's all drive defensively and cut down on the road rage out there.
The weak paneling of the Nissan a pillar is not due to cheapness per se... You said you have an airbag behind the panel... When the airbag engages, it is better that the panels easily pop off in the correct way so the airbag deploys with minimal resistance/shrapnel... It is a feature: Not a bug...
No, I get the function, but I disagree with the incredible little pressure from the plastic wedge tool, tucking a cable to the side of the panel, popping the panel off.
I've never been one to think about adding a dashcam but this is so cool that I want to try it 😂. Hey Juan, could you share a template of the email you sent to your lawmaker?
Hmm, one thing that would give me pause I might prefer to have a suction cup mounting method (or at least some method that isn't an adhesive to the windshield) (probably not a suction cup actually, but not adhesive to the windshield). It occurs to me that it may not be a reusable thing if the windshield gets replaced. So you would just have a dash cam that maybe doesn't stick again, or might not stay as well as the first applying. I do realize that extra adhesive(s) can be bought, but (and maybe this is a superstition sort of thing) I mostly only feel comfortable using the original intended method for things, if I can help it.
Man, I do love to have a dashcam, but i hate the interface. Like phones, megapickles are not everything for a dashcam; build quality and reliability are more important imo. Another topic would be phone app quality, security (encrypted recording) and maybe options to crate timelapses from your driving.
It kinda depends on the phone? It hooks up over wifi, and my OP did NOT like that there was no internet connection, but my Sony seemed to stay connected more consistently.
🤝Thank you for taking the time to unbox and road test the DDPAI Z50 4K Dash Cam. Through your Amazon link, the device description states that in line 4. Storage: 512GB micro SD card Max (SD Card is Not Included). However, further down, it's mentioned that "Storage: 128GB microSD card max + Bulit in NANDflash." 🤔 I'm a bit confused: does the Z50 model feature a built-in eMMC 128GB internal storage, and then can accept up to 512GB external microSDXC memory card? 🔎 There are very few dash cams on the market with 128GB built-in memory storage. Do you know if it's the case for the DDPAI Z50 dash cam? Thanks again for sharing your review, and keep up the excellent job! 👍 👍
@@SomeGadgetGuy Yes they are as your ment to be strapped the cable in place behind them so they don't rattle or get into the way of the air bags your also ment to put the cables into the cable flex conduit to get the the rear screen by removing the plate on your truck top lining. .

That's a good call though. We do get toasty here in SoCal. I'm also worried about the little sticker mount LOL.

Adding music to a crash would be hilarious 😂😂😂
All my videos would have Yakety Sax...

Oh definitely. Especially with an officer on site, and I've seen the person just pointing to their camera. Let's really check that footage ...

Something I have always wanted to do for my car
It really is a fun little upgrade.

I think that's fair. I wish there was a plate mount, so I could stick a plate on the windshield, and have the camera slide on and off that plate.
How's the video quality? And can you toggle voice recording on and off quickly?

Please review the DDPAI N5 Dual with and without the Option RADAR Motion Sensor
HOW GOOD IS DDPAI Z50 NOW? IS IT WORTH IT?
Leave a microsd card reader in your car, it's another option to read your card on your phone.
been using it for years. it's a lot faster
Do You know how to start emergancy recording on demand? (Z50)
Hold on.. At 6:52, is that thing giving you the "Amazon" wink/smile?
It's kinda cheeky.
That moment when the dashcam you just bought is the one Juan complains about for the whole video lol. Hopefully mine isn't as bad.
Just watch the loop settings, and don't mount it like I did. Should be better. 👍
Cool cam Juan👍🤗
actually looks so crisp
Not bad right!
How is the video sync with the phone? Interested in this to replace my two dash cameras and add it to my gf's car.

How’s the dashcam now?
Still running well. Even through the 100+ degree summer we had.
Does it record sound too?
Is the dDpai type c to connect...?

I need it!
All A pillars are supposed to pop out easily
Sure, but I don't think they're supposed to fling like this while tucking a cable lightly LOL

is the mobile app okay?
Pity sponsors
😂
Kinda lined up that way 😅
Great.
When I buy a car... I will be looking for this.
Now... 🚶♀️🚶
I also have a few videos on ebikes...
😉
