Yes! I got married @23 i loved being married. My husband was killed in a car accident in 2014. Hes been gone 1year and 6 months & ppl ALWAYS asking when am i gonna date, why am i still single? And this may or may not help someone I just thought about it... Boyfriends are like Makeup in a sense... Should be an enhancement to what's already there... You should already be secure in yourself before you take on another person in your life. Like with makeup your face is already beautiful without it and it should just enhance your beauty. Also a man shouldn't validate your happiness or beauty. Your beautiful before a BF you'll be be beautiful after a BF and without a BF as well as happy. A man shouldn't have to tell you that you're beautiful for you to believe that you should already know it and nor should she be able to cause or disrupt your happiness! I mean as a baby you had to learn how to walk on your own, so why is that different when you're older? I understand people need a significant other, but if you don't know or love yourself, you can't truly give yourself to another person and be happy.

Loooooove it!!! Great advice. I didn't get married until I was 30 and a virgin on top of that. Family was always asking what was wrong with me and if I even like men lol..Wonderfully married with two kids for the past 6 years. This is the advice I tell everyone. Don't waste your time even on a "good" guy, because it is still time wasted if he is not your "God" guy. when its God you will know.. Met my husband on Saturday, on Sunday I knew he was my husband. 9 months later we were married. This year will make 6 years not only married, but happily married!!!
Great advise Kendra and Kelsey! Not a lot of women are as wise as you two are, especially for your age. I think this is a great segment because it can be a positive influence for other ladies. Being single is not a handicap. It is a period in your life when you get rid of the crutches of a bad relationship and start walking again. In order to walk into your destiny, you have to detach yourself from the person that is holding you back.

Great video, I'm 18 never had a boyfriend, first kiss, none of that. I'm so glad I'm not the type of girl that has to be in a relationship to be good. I enjoy being single. In the Bible it says "ABOVE ALL THINGS guard your heart for EVERYTHING that you do flows from it" If you really meditate on that scripture it's giving directions and a warning at the same time. The worse thing we can do is put our heart in the wrong persons hands. I decided to give my heart to God and he can handle it how he see's fit.

I agree! and I just turned 29 this month. I was in a long term relationship as well and have been single going on almost 4 years. It's just a free feeling and you don't have to deal with anyone or worry about arguments. It's a great time to enjoy your own company and work on self. When the time is right for a relationship I believe it will happen.

I'll add myself to the over 40 and single. I travel at a moments notice. I cook exciting dishes. I volunteer. I teach recovering addicts. Ive run a half marathon and trained for a full. I teach zumba. This point in my life I am soo glad to be single. I love my alone time. Kendra and Kelsey are so on point with the advice they shared today. If I had daughters, this is the message I would want them to hear.

+ThreeSixteen Not going to lie but the older you get, you don't have the wide picking of men like you had in your 20s. Older men are usually coupled up, have families etc so finding someone suitable gets harder. But the focus of the twins' video is to 'celebrate being single' and not worry about where to meet men, or if/when we date. Being single is the time to be selfish and indulge in the things you love most, like getting a hobby... go to the movies by yourself, eat at restaurants by yourself, learn to love yourselves and know you're OK with or without a man.
I know this is all off topic, but I believe this could also apply to being in a career. It's amazing how many people will settle for mediocre, just for a paycheck. It's not that serious, do not settle in a career where your not happy. You should have a peace of mind, and fulfillment at work. Once you find your purpose, then go after your ideal career. Basically in life period not matter how old you are don't settle for less than you deserve. Go after what you truly want in a career and relationships!

I am the same way, I will be honest though, I HATE being single and that's mostly because I am a loner, so I have very little friends and the ones that I do have and are super close to me are not in the same state as I am. So, for me having a mate gives me that friendship in the flead that I need as well. HOWEVER, I refuse to date at all!! As much as I hate being single, I am a single mother to a young girl and I cannot allow her to see me with a lot of different men, it's HIGHLY inappropriate!!! But, at this point in my life it is important for me to be looking for the man that is going to be my husband, not just a boo or boyfriend in the moment. Also, I do not yet feel "wife ready" so I refuse to even attempt dating. I have to get some things in order with myself first and with my daughter first and a man just does not fit that equation. I was in a serious relationship for years. I broke up with him & was sooo upset. My boss, at the time, was also going through a divorce at that same time. We started meeting for drinks after work & became great friends both going through the same thing. We fell in love & next week will be our fifteen year wedding anniversary. We have also have a 13 year old son. I completely agree with these girls, but also think that people are waiting TOO LONG these days. And then can't get pregnant when they want kids, because they waited too long. The new thing is to be happy by yourself & now people are going over board & waiting until they're in their forties to get married!!! I'm glad I was 27 when I had my son, because now I'm not an old lady when he's a teenager. That's just my opinion.

we went to the same cosmetology school Aveda Atlanta, at different times i think 1 year apart. however if it was anything the same as it was when i was there. the school as a business was terrible, they worked you like a dog, and expected us to do and preform things they never taught us or was unwillingly to teach depending on the teacher. we would get tips for our services sometimes, of course. however if you forgot to pick your tips up at the end of the day sometimes they were stolen by some of the students that passed them out. also the last dean of the school was layed off for drug abuse. the one before him was amazing tho. it wasn't all bad i made some great friends and still keep in contact with my favorite educators. it's a great school to have as a credential bc its known worldwide.
they dont work in a salon and rarely do freelance work. they just do YT and partner up with companies.

I really enjoyed watching this video. When I was younger I dated some bad people and I always thought I needed to be with someone. After letting it all go and being single I was able to get myself together. I was able to know my worth later on down the line God blessed me with my husband. I don't regret anything. No matter how ruff things started off. 😊

Ladies enjoy being single! I didn't marry until 30 & loved every second of dating & being single! Because I waited to marry I believe our marriage is stronger because we were ready to settle down as we were both 30. We dated for 6 months before engagement and were engaged for a year. Ladies, you're very level headed and mature at your age. I actually took a 3 yr break after my last relationship, best decision ever. I went out and enjoyed life. Took up extra curricular activities like piano and just took a step back from everyone. Three years later I'm in a loving relationship planning a wedding. So yes, take your time, do you and the right one will find you!

I feel like this is my prime right now and ALL my energy and focus has to be on graduating with my college degree and achieving my goals at this point. I'm turning 19 in two months & all throughout middle school & high school people pestered me about dating. Still to this day I've never dated although I almost did but I'm glad I didn't bc he turned out to be a total jerk. But I completely agree with you guys, I'm using this time for me... regardless of what others say. I'm in my first year of college & I'm focusing on bettering myself & surrounding myself with better people who respect my view of dating & other important matters. I'd like to offer a different perspective on the being single conversation. While it's great to take your time and heal after a relationship, I think it's important to get back out there. Especially in your early 20's when you're growing so fast and learning so much about yourself. Dating in high school and dating as an adult are totally different. Take some chances, meet some people and get out there. Not to necessarily date every guy you meet, but to give you life experience. I'm saying this from experience. I met my husband at 19, dated him for 5 years and got married. Our life together is great but that's not to say I didn't wish I had more dating experience. I think it would help me navigate certain situations in my marriage better. Just an opinion but I love that you ladies are so level headed and focused on the right things. Keep it up
Hold on to being single. Do things you want to do. And there is so much growth in being by yourself. And preparing for couplehood has great value.

Well said gals...on most points. I wouldn't have suggested to go have drinks, in the event they are depressed or feeling insecure about themselves. Being single, is realizing that 1 is a whole number and to be whole is to give your life to Jesus Christ and He will help with making right choices, whether you are single or married. Jesus is the answer and sums up any topic. 😋

I've always been a firm believer in "what's for me is for me." I'm 20 years old and have never been in a relationship (it never went past the talking phase). To be honest, I never even think about being in an relationship. Sure, it's a nice prospect, but in the end, a relationship should be centered around both parties' happiness. I personally think that you have to be in a certain headspace for something to spark. You have to be confident in yourself. I'm a nursing student and work part time. The most important things in life don't come free. You have to know who you are and what you stand for. No one should feel rushed about being in an relationship. My parents look at me sideways because I don't put myself out there. But I know that when I'm ready, it'll happen. For right now, I'm okay with being buried in books and being antisocial. Lol.
All this was good advice but I didn't hear anything about God , or Jesus the Bible or serving as a Stewart for Christ while being single even volunteering to help people or kids. I thought that's what's missing from your message.
i get the same response when asked if i'm single. Some feel bad, my friends start plotting plans to hooking me up with someone they know and all that jazz. LOL!!! Thank y'all so much for this video! Everything that was said in the video really made me thing. I just recently got out my first real relationship about 5-6 months ago. He's with someone else and has been since we've broken up. It's was hard because we were together for a long time, and had gotten a place together. No matter how "good" I wanted to make our relationship look to others, things were horrible behind closed doors. I didn't want to believe it at the time, but the bad times over weighed the good times. I basically ignored all of the red flags that were right in front of me because I didn't want to be without him. I had grown so used to him being in my life, and I was afraid to be alone again. I was afraid to start all over with someone else. The relationship was physically, mentally, and emotionally abusive in both of our parts. Right now, I am struggling to find myself and to love myself. But this video made me realize that I'm not alone, and that things will be okay soon.
And for a Twin Talk suggestion, I'm a recent graduate of The University of Kentucky and I'd love to hear your opinions on career development and finding your passion in terms of working, and not rushing into the work force and things like that!

I'm only 21 and my moms friends always ask do I have a bf or when am I going to get one, Like dang cant I focus of me and graduate college first lol. Then IF I did have a bf and end up pregnant those people would be the first ones talking lol!
