    I absolutely HATE when people say so and so doesn't look the same without makeup. Who really looks the same without makeup?? If we all looked the same with makeup then it would be pointless... lol

    I couldn't agree more. Self esteem and confidence is an inside job. However, if you need a boost pampering yourself is very effective... Eat better, pray/meditate, get proper rest, journal, Working out, at home facials, makeup, upgrading your wardrobe, finding a new fragrance. Find what makes you feel better NOW and work on your spirit everyday. It's all relevant!

    I believe that it's the other way around: being beautiful and realizing how beautiful you are on the inside will cause you to feel and look beautiful on the outside. That's what happened to me. "As a he thinketh in his heart, so is he..." - Proverbs 23:7

    Yall are beautiful with or without make up, but just be careful not to say someone who doesn't wear makeup is lazy or are putting forth no effort in their appearance. No one should knock anyone for wearing makeup or not wearing makeup. You can look nice without it and with it.

    Im 23 and I been insecure until I was about 21. So I will say something like "I look nice today" "I feel pretty" and my peers will say "Get off yourself" "You're not all that" like they dont know how long it took me to get to where I am today. I use to cry myself to sleep because I didn't have any friends (i was shy), I was called ugly middle-high school and verbally bullied because I was so shy. Now I glowed up not just physically but mentally too and dammit Im feeling myself like Beyonce. The girls that bullied me wants to be my friend and the guys that bullied me are in my inbox.

    I do not believe that they intended the no make up wearer to equal lazy. I think may have been misconstrued. I don't wear make up, yet I exude confidence. But I also had a family growing up that feed me with kind, loving and uplifting affirmations! I knew very young to take pride in my appearance but more than being pretty I was intelligent. I received more praise for doing well in school than how I looked. I just want to mention something. My friend is an HR manager and had a woman come in for an interview. Her hair was in a sad ponytail, her clothes were wrinkled, she had a run in her stockings and one shoe. She apologized for her appearance because she needed the job. She had to borrow an outfit from someone and snagged her stockings, Then on the way to the interview the heal broke on her shoe, but she needed the job! She came in and did her best. She got the job. She may not have looked her best but she did what she needed to get that opportunity. :)

  • @TINAWHYTE
    @TINAWHYTE 8 років тому +34

    I agree with a lot of this, however, I seldom wear makeup or spend a lot of time on my hair and I don't think that makes me lazy nor do I have low self-esteem as a result of "not putting effort into how I look." As a matter of fact, I put a lot of effort into how I look by going to gym, drinking a lot of water and make healthier food choices. I have never and can't see myself putting down another woman for wearing makeup, however, I personally prefer to use my time in the mornings differently (yoga, affirmations, sleeping later etc.). To say someone is lazy for not seeing the need to do their makeup frequently is as unfair and narrow minded as trying to make another woman feel bad about beating her face as often as she sees fit. I very much like the way I look with or without makeup. I would and have gone to interviews without makeup. True self confidence is loving yourself without conditions or limitation.

    Some people at my school and at Walmart of course wear pajamas in public like they aren't motivated and are too lazy to look good. I don't understand how people don't want to look good because I always want to look descent even if I don't feel motivated. Dressing up just for school does make me in a happier mood!

    • @boutux
      @boutux 8 років тому +1

      +Jassela347 Maybe they just don't care cuz they are confident and comfortable in their skin and it doesn't matter what ppl say at the end of the day. (the point of this video) At some point in life you learn you can't make everyone happy so you decide to do you, ...whether it's wearing make up, wearing heels to everywhere, going to school/walmart in PJs or whatever. BTW i don't live in a cold country but if I did I would probably do the PJs thing too, comfort over style everyday. lol

    Now, I hope they did not mean to say makeup WILL give you self confidence, because for me I don't wear, nor do I want to, or need to wear full makeup, and I have plenty of self confidence. I love watching you-tubers transform with makeup I think the skill and transformation is art. However just because I don't like to wear it, doesn't mean I don't put in effort, I do believe if you look good you feel good, as in combing your hair, grooming, nice clean clothes, and an organized life, can help boost confidence!

    • @tiffaniyoung4202
      @tiffaniyoung4202 8 років тому +2

      THANK YOU. Not wearing makeup doesn't mean you don't put effort into how you look. I don't have to make myself look like a completely different person to feel confident, lol.

      +Tiffani Young good thing that's not what they meant

    • @tracyonetosee
      @tracyonetosee 8 років тому

      No that's not what they were saying. If you listen to the video, they mentioned as becoming older they've become more confident with themselves as a person more so on the inside, which has really made them love themselves outside as well. As an avid makeup wearer, makeup DOES look good on the outside, and from their perspective it's a passion for them. They're not saying that you should or shouldn't wear makeup, their mainly referring to the ladies who wear makeup, and are ridiculed for wearing it at times. In essence, they're just saying that they love to enhance their natural beauty with makeup to make them feel good, and anything that enhances your natural beauty naturally makes you look good, and feel good. They're saying when you look in that mirror, you should say that you're beautiful. At the end of the day, like you mentioned we should all feel comfortable about ourselves.

    • @Ms80it
      @Ms80it 7 років тому

      tracyonetosee Now you are just reaching because that is not what was said. You just made your own little story here. I believe they said for those who knock down women who wear makeup are the lazy ones but I wouldn't call them lazy, I would just say they're judgmental people. I don't wear makeup. However I make sure my eyebrows look good, I take care of my skin and hair, I dress decent (to what I can afford) and I use proper hygiene and perfumes. Those things make me feel good.

    "Knowing who you are" hit the nail on the head, ding ding ding, BULLSEYE. That is the beginning and the end. When you know you - you will shut down a lot of foolishness. As for makeup I think it completely compliments the natural beauty of a person. I danced for a professional b-ball team never wore makeup. It's just something that never held my attention. I've never had a flawless complexion but it is what it is. With that said, I definitely admire those who choose to wear it. I sweat beads when I workout. I will workout on a whelm. I rather sweat hard and I feel completely free and have a fantastic glow afterwards. i do have skin cleansing routine, but make up is not for me. Beauty is subjective and in the eye of the beholder. Now that I think about it, not one person in my department wears makeup. Birds of a feather. I really enjoyed your knowledge and experience you shared. Definitely worth sharing with the young women I know.

    You ladies spoke well and as a 48 year old woman who has found herself everything you said is true. I've been insecure when I was younger but as you live and experience life and people you learn what to accept and not accept. I am a makeup addict and my appearance is highly important. I am appearance conscious. It should come when you're older but I know people my age who are very insecure and still seek approval from others. However, I fine if you look inward and do a self evaluation on a regular basis. Ultimately confidence comes with wanting to do better and have better for yourself and when you're in line with that thought there are some things you will not accept. You girls were on point and I agree 100%. I have a 16 year old girl and I will share this video with her so she can see from two young beautiful girls who could be an example to young girls and women all over and just to end when you want to be an example to others then that's a start to self confidence.

  • @abigailj2485
    @abigailj2485 8 років тому +2

    I was fortunate to be one of the few teens who didn't have insecurity issues. What helped was that I always stayed grounded. Was never a cocky person & I was loved by my family & my childhood was very active as well. What actually made me start to look at myself & feel like my flaws were 'exposed' so to speak, was my friends who'd sometimes poke fun at how chunky my legs were. & over time, some family members & others from my place of worship made me feel like I was too "fat" for my age. All my friends were very slim & I didn't even realize tbh until ppl started to point out how "huge" my thighs were. I then started to envy how slim they were & not appreciate the nice lil body I had. I felt like ppl would compare my then best friend & I'd always feel uncomfortable standing close to slimmer persons. I say this to say, don't tease people especially youths who are growing into their body & trying to feel comfortable. That also helps with insecurity issues. That's where insecurities can start to form if you never had them before. Now I'm 20 & looking back at old photos, my body was FINE. I was very filled out & a nice butt too which now I'm struggling to get back because I started to go on a diet & now it's almost as if I can't keep weight on.

    I disagree with wearing makeup to feel good about yourself but I do understand the point you were making. I barely wear makeup (only on date nights) and my boyfriend and family always tell me I don't need it. I think you have to be confident with YOURSELF with and without makeup. To me if you need makeup to feel good about yourself, you're still lacking some confidence and self-esteem. I found my confidence once I became more girly. I was a tomboy until I was 17 and decided my senior year that I wanted to be more girly. It took some time to get use the girl stuff but eventually like you said you grow into being confident. Now nobody can tell me nothing. Not even when I blend my eye shadows wrong lol

    Omg, I lovvvvve this. Like when I first started wearing makeup like hard core (I think I was 18), my family hated it. They would say "You don't need that makeup, you're pretty without it." or something of that nature. But honestly, I wasn't where I needed to be confidentially(?) for myself. I was learning to love myself bc I was picked on soooooo much at a young age. First of all, me being fat then my horrible skin complexion and my family talking shit about it. It was so hard for me to believe anything anyone told me. Now I'm 21 and my confidence is like through the roof and like y'all said, I don't need anyone's validation. So anyway, I think these Twin Talk videos are amazing. I just started doing topics videos on my Facebook page and looking at these videos, sort of reminds me of me. It's great to see that there are amazing people in this world that truly wanna uplift people. Anyway, great videos... Great beauty channel as well and I appreciate y'all. Like fr. 💞😚

    I feel confident without makeup and hair worn natural. I don't like expectation on women's looks. We should be allowed to pick whether or not to wear makeup. You inspire me. Part of my role models list

    I loved this twin talk. I do all the above. I'm just starting to get into makeup again. It really makes a difference. Outside affects inside and inside affects outside. I'm pretty confident but I have my moments. Mostly when it comes to job interviews.

    I really enjoyed this video. It was very motivational and inspiring. Also it helps me understand that there nothing wrong with getting glam up sometimes, and just feeling good about myself. I truly found this video very needed. I would like to see more videos like this, but also maybe about careers, college, etc.

    I like these twin talks! You guys have talked about really great subjects so far. I really appreciate the point about being happy with what you're doing in life, career-wise because that's what I'm going thru right now. In the future, as a suggestion, you guys should try relating personal experiences and what helped y'all to overcome those obstacles. It would've been nice to hear y'all talk about at what point y'all started working in becoming confident. ✨ Love you guys!

    I love this. Y'all always exude confidence! I think it's also important to not that sometimes it takes not wearing makeup to feel confident. I got to a place where I realized I felt hideous any time I wasn't wearing makeup and I had to force myself to go out without it on until I felt good about my bare face. I realize now that it was because I wasn't taking care of myself in other ways: eating right, taking time for myself, etc. Now I feel confident to go out bare-face or with makeup and think I can look fly either way! :)

    Kelsey's top fits the meaning of confidence. "I don't care at all." is true confidence in terms of how you feel about external validation.

    If that's the case, then what do you feel like when all the glitter, make up and gold comes off and you're looking at the real YOU in the mirror?!🤔 Beauty starts from within not the outer layers! Having the correct "beliefs", and good morals, upright character and personality is what makes you beautiful and that will show on the outside.! Beautification only should add to true beauty! Only then will you truly be confident!

    One thing that really stuck out when they said if you don't put effort into how you appear you are lazy. As a Libra I can understand that comment. Libras are stereotyped for being superficial cause we like things that look good and like to stay looking good. If that means exercising or grooming ourselves. But it is nice to see twin Scorpios who feel the same way. The video is good overall.
