Going back to my recumbent bike which uses a pulley system for chain line. Idler wheels suck up power, add weight and are overall slower regardless of configuration.

Wish the Merida just had a bottle size range extender that thing is huge

The guy on the right looks like a bootleg Martyn Ashton

I was thinking the same... we should get them to do a collaboration together one day😅

The shock on the Merida should be rotated 180 deg depending if you ride regular or goofy. Once you rotate it based off your pedal preference, it won’t touch your inner thigh anymore

Great content thanks! As for range vs handling, my personal experience is I never went over 630Wh battery, but that's me, your mileage may vary. 😊

The Merida 140 actually looks the most interesting. 66.5 head angle, as they say ONLY DOWNHILL FUN IS SO YESTERDAY which is where you at MBR are

And yet there was no eOne-Forty for us to try on the launch. While Merida itself is pitching it more as a fully-laden SUV proposition than a trail bike. But yeah, guess we’re out of touch.

I'd upgrade my Giant Trance 115mm (lol) travel bike and I'd 'have to' have an Atherton 130 Trail for a nicely balanced short travel bike, for £1300 more than the Norco Optic C3, and the Atherton bike has titanium lugs, carbon tubes and DW6 suspension design. Not going to be 15kg either.

We tested the Atherton 130 x and it weighed 15.07kg, so not exactly light either.

Great video guys. Any idea if Merida will be available in the USA?

Thanks. We didn’t get any US pricing so maybe not.

Great video. Merida CF looks great, but should have had a Bosch or SRAM motor. 😢

Merida has always had strong links with Shimano, so unlikely this will happen. 👍

There’s not really much we can do about that.
