As a fellow musician, this guy seems legit. I looked up his drumming vids and he is/was really good !! It's not an easy way to make a living, especially if you get older without adjusting to new industry trends and then fall on hard times. Perhaps he isn't taking enough responsibility for the ways in which he played a part in getting himself into this situation. I would not be surprised at all if he has a history of substance abuse and/or being difficult to get along with. However, I don't think there is enough understanding of his way of life in the comment section. Patience my friend, you gotta watch the full video 😅 This is only pt.1
His name is William Demus... he's a Jazz and Funk drummer.
Thank you 🙏🏾
I believe him about the food at the shelters
That sucks to have to deal with after not eating for a while
Gotta have a good credit rating and around $5,000 to get an apartment plus a job and job history. It’s easy to become homeless now.
That is the truth
Yes, you need to have a history of paying your bills on time, and the ability to manage your money and save up a deposit.
You also need to have a job.
Are we really setting the bar too high here?? 😂😂
I’m gonna play a video of him drumming
I thought yall were gonna say its William Goldsmith... I hope hes doing well anyhow... Dave Grohl ruined him for sure.. he had to sell all his worldly possessions to get by and he very well cpuld be on the street.. he had to sell his prized Pearl studio drum set that he toured the foo fighters with and now he has to sell it to make ends meet...you think Mr.Grohl could at least make it so he doesnt have to sell his drums..poor guy..
Yeah that’s pretty wild
Why do Cops always come and harass homeless people that aren't bothering anyone, and making them move constantly? It's really foul!
I feel it comes from cops being on a power trip
Cause they work for whoever in power
You would likely feel differently the first time you slipped on human fecal matter at the entrance to your home or business... but, maybe not?

When I give someone money on the streets I don't give a sht about what they do with it. Booze crack cigarettes food housing... up to them.
The reason I hand someone a few bucks is so they will have a bit of happiness for that day , that's it nothing more.
Many bad decisions that hurt society at large are made by people with money and a roof over their heads , this guy just needs to find a steady gig.
Chubbs bro , get out to some open mics , find the actual talent and get a sustainable gig going. Live what you love bro it's a short life. Good Luck to you , Ill look for your YT channel.

Famous drummer for who? Can’t he be making some kind of income from royalties?
Just famous around the funk scene I guess. Drummers in the biggest bands don’t get royalties, unless they write the songs.
Many drummers are sessionals. They only get paid for a studio session and no royalties.
Part two is out now. He talks more about his musical career in pt.2
He looks pretty cleaned up and groomed.
In Philly most of the people dealing with these struggles, have alot of opportunities and resources to keep themselves together

I have a feeling he's holding back. He blames his problems on everything but himself. It's the shelter's fault, the people he chose to move in with, and even the hospital did him wrong. As an ex-addict/alcoholic, I can see right through this story because I had blamed everyone and everything for my problems. If he is so good at computers and drumming he wouldn't need help from anyone. His addiction I assume is calling the shots, he doesn't want to cop to it.
