This is my favorite recip saw I bought mine summer 2017 love it. It's got power and these batteries last right up there with the longest running battery tools. It is a bit heavy but it's a beast
Thanks for the unboxing Vince (liked the edit Nick....who doesn’t like Star Wars😉). Vince, my brother-in-law bought a new tool a they had the cardboard in the bag just like this.....he threw it away. Looked everywhere for the recip blades that came with the saw. Come to find out, that cardboard that was used for stabilization in shipping...was also used to store the blades for the saw...OOPS😢🤣. Happened while ago, it just wanted to share the story......just in case someone buys a tool, & can’t find an accessory that’s supposed to come with it. Cheers VCG Fam✌🏻
I’m sure after this long you know, the cover on the battery allows you to ship the battery when you otherwise wouldn’t be able to due to the size. The cover separates the 3 internal sections of the battery to make 3 3ah batteries, which lets you bypass certain battery size restrictions for shipping.
Good video VCG. I personally own both this Flexvolt saw and the 20v one that Vince sawed in half. I think I paid a combined $180 for both saws brand new. So it was a no brainer to have both. The Flexvolt has significant power and is only bested by the new M18 Super Sawzall. I do like the 20v saw though. It has the 4 position blade change feature and is light enough that I can hold it with one hand to cut with. It is powerful enough to handle a lot of handyman type tasks. The Flexvolt is great though when you need to demo the crap out of something.
Thanks for the in depth on the saw. One would think this was the flagship recip for DeWalt given the price. The lack of features just screams profit over everything else at this point to me. Stay safe.
I have the flexvolt saw saw great power and battery last a while but the blade tends to fall out over time idk if it’s just the saw I got or other people have the same problem
The DeWALT shoe is in my opinion one of the better built shoes out there. I think part of why it is built so well is because it isn't adjustable. The connection where it is adjustable is a place where the shoe can break/fail.
You can also buy the entire package he shows with (2) batteries. The last 2 digits on the model # printed on the box, T1 is a 1 battery, T2 is with 2 batteries. Not sure if there is a price advantage by getting the T2 package
Another good vid Vince. I still think the Milwaukee is a better deal and I do like the hard start unlike the soft start on the DeWalt. The Milwaukee still beat it even though it's the 60V Max. Additionally, at that price point you would expect an adjustable shoe and the ability to install the blade in four directions. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
See you in 3 years with a vid named "my 60v paperweight " just kidding the flex volt is pretty cool. I dont stand by any tool brand. I just so happen to have makitas and Milwaukee.
I don't know why dewalt even skimped on the shoe with this too wtf, i got the brushed and it just looks a little beefier than that one, doesnt seem worth it for the tool, I'm assuming they are just selling flexvolt batteries at this point Any blade over 8 inches will have significant wobble and makes it bind even with Diablo blades, kinda bummed to see this lack of a feature
7.8 lbs, and you weighed it at 7.6 lbs. (7 lbs 9.4 oz) They actually didn't print a lower weight on the box. They said (on the box) that it was 3½ oz more than it actually is.
He didn’t weigh that on a certified scale, that assumingely isn’t NTEP approved and cannot become a certified scale. The chances of it being accurate are very little.
This is before the Smoke & Cracking Fire..! Question is how long will it last..? 30 min. 45 min. Or barely survive till the end..? Taking predictions..?
Your guys must be twisting the blade at a slight angle instead of vertically. The saw has never torqued out on us ever but we all know what happens when you twist the blade while cutting so maybe that's why.
The least developed of ALL the first gen of Flexvolt tools. No adjustable shoe, blade can only be orientated up-and-down not side to side like it’s little 20V XR brother and no rafter hook. This was a BTN (Better Than Nothing) tool. I like my Flexvolt chainsaw, I like all the Flexvolt OPE (especially the new blower), I like the Flexvolt grinder and miter saw, but this reciprocating saw is a HARD PASS...
DeWalt 60v recipe saw.. Slowest of the big three Least comfortable Most expensive batteries No rafter hook No variable speed No adjustable shoe Negligible price difference of tool only. .....so why would anyone buy this?
The fast charger I love.... The fan is just loud enough that I know when my battery its done charging.
Absolutely loved the starwars cut in! had my wife and I cracking up!

I agree I wish it had the oscillating feature and the adjustable shoe
I love this saw. It’s a beast!
Good job! Keep up the good work!😍
Dewalt got some cool new saw blades to now. You can brake them in two so you can use whole blade length.

Cheers Vince.. nice unboxing .. a shame the blade angle can’t be changed like you can on my corded version which helps when in awkward places
Great review and very informative! 👍🙏♥️
Vcg always dropping bangers 🔥

I cut steel stainless and it work really good.
I got one of these, cuts red iron like a lightsaber through butter.
Man, that thing and the orbital SAWZALL are both stupid fast!!! Great stuff. God bless😁👍✌
Thank you me
It has a U shaped shoe which helps see any cuts you're making. It comes in hand when cutting steel pipe
I'd love to hear the Black & Yellow song.
Thanks for the in depth on the saw. One would think this was the flagship recip for DeWalt given the price. The lack of features just screams profit over everything else at this point to me. Stay safe.
I agree Tim thanks buddy!!
Nice little jab at AvE with the battery cover
Great Vid Vince, love the sound effects and "Star Wars" insert. I don't think you mentioned if this Flexvolt 60V Max Recip Saw has orbital mode.
Thank you Greg! Unfortunately this saw does not have orbital mode.
Oh yeah that is the ricip saw I got
I have the flexvolt saw saw great power and battery last a while but the blade tends to fall out over time idk if it’s just the saw I got or other people have the same problem

Should test it against the Milwaukee super sawzall
great video!
Thank you!

Can you do a video of the best cordless sawzaw out there right now
Will do!
Vince used that recip saw for his fade
What difference between dewalt flexvolt reciprocating saw DCS388B and DCS398B
I think the 20 volt reciprocating saw with a flexvolt battery is just as good
“Gonna read this later” *throws on ground* how many times have we watched you do this? 😂😂
I've been using reciprocating saws for 25 years and have never adjusted the shoe once...
I was going to say the same thing. 18 years and have never needed to adjust the shoe
See you in 3 years with a vid named "my 60v paperweight " just kidding the flex volt is pretty cool. I dont stand by any tool brand. I just so happen to have makitas and Milwaukee.
Does this tool have a fan or is dewalt doing fanless tools now lol I like how u throw the manual ha
No adjustable shoe for 300$ the makita is 150$ or less and it has quick release and adjustable shoe and it's a beast
I purchased tool only dcs389 myself just last month march of 2024.
Hey cool gang Not bad tool 60volts but how many watts volts isn't really what gives tools the power it's watts and amps :)
Can i use a 20v battery
Mine only last for about 2.5 hours...but it's 6aph why am not getting 6 hours
I’m into the brands that don’t flex. They know they’re good, no need to exaggerate
Is that new from dewalt
Got the sexy flexy😂....flexing on the haters🤣
Niceeee!!! 💪
You said $299 ..i paid $377after taxes..but im happy with my tool
To be completely honest I did the same thing with the red cover lol 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
😂😂😂👍
So did I
No adjustable shoe time to cut it in half lol
😂😂😂🔥🔥
or a rafter hook.
To be fair it’s not the top model the top dog has more bells and whistles like adjustable shoe etc etc
It's just missing the rafter hook
I don't know why dewalt even skimped on the shoe with this too wtf, i got the brushed and it just looks a little beefier than that one, doesnt seem worth it for the tool, I'm assuming they are just selling flexvolt batteries at this point

FIRST BOOM
Boom!!!

Yo VCG!!!
Yo Amos!!
You looked like you were in pain reviewing a Dewalt tool
This is before the Smoke & Cracking Fire..! Question is how long will it last..? 30 min. 45 min. Or barely survive till the end..? Taking predictions..?
Straight trash homie. We have one at work and it torques out (presumably for “safety”) all the time. The 20v version is better.
Your guys must be twisting the blade at a slight angle instead of vertically. The saw has never torqued out on us ever but we all know what happens when you twist the blade while cutting so maybe that's why.

Not Ti...T1 (one).
That’s not the Dewalt that died? That’s the one from the last TTR right?
Nope. New DeWalt saw.
t1
DeWalt 60v recipe saw..
Slowest of the big three
Least comfortable
Most expensive batteries
No rafter hook
No variable speed
No adjustable shoe
Negligible price difference of tool only.
.....so why would anyone buy this?
an ajustable shoe is the worst thing ever
Dewalt is king
