Nobody talking about the lyrics. I am nailed to my seat. Plain words expressing it so well. And music that is underlining the drama. Mr. Ford, you and your mates are geniuses to me. Thank you for this wonderful piece of art.
For years I listened to this version only in love with the guitar and that organ solo. Finally, I started to pay attention to the bass. How could I be so neglectful? 11/10 Amazing!!!
I had the great pleasure to meet Robben at 'THE JAZZ CLUB', London, UK in 2001/2. Having been a fan of his for years, told him he must have wrote this song about me, so apt about my life and how I feel!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD BLESS ROBBEN FORD!!!!!!!!!!
3 musicians that always hold my interest when they solo; Hendrix, Coltrane & Robben Ford. They’re so creative & inventive - spontaneously exploring while they take you on their other-worldly journey! 👍🏼
One of my favorite all time cuts by the master... dynamics, feel, and a great lyric. I have seen some of the world's top guitarists mesmorized watching Robben play, he is amazing and humble. I bow down...
I had the greatest pleasure to meet Robben in 2001, at the Jazz Club London. I told him I thought he wrote this song about me!! I love this song and the lyrics are so ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHEERS ROBBEN!!! LOVE YOUR MUSIC!!
This is straight up funky! Robben is the real deal and always attracts the best musicians to blend his special magic. His Tele tone is "the source" for all others to sample.
I think he means 'generalise'... it's the Blues, but there's such a precision, AND it has a great feel, that it defies categorisation... but it's still 'just the Blues'...
Renato Yes ! He is the most brilliant blues player because he has studied every aspect of the music and all of the great players in the past, and his instrument .... And he also devotes himself to teaching others
I remember hearing Roscoe Beck playing with Robben and Tom Brechtlien (The Blue Line band) at the Catalyst in Santa Cruz CA (stardate 1995?) The whole band was completely amazing.. but (until then) I had never heard a bass player swing (the bass guitar) so solid (I remember him playing chords that were swinging like a Hammond B3). And I hear Jimmy swinging it here as well! BRAVO!!
Ive watched and listened to Roscoe play since the mid-seventies in Austin Texas with Tommy Taylor and Eric Johnson ! He is amazing ! I was blessed to play with Chuck Rainey for 2 years so jazz bass is just the best bottom and there is to me especially with robins amazing licks
Yep. fantastic player. I went to HS with him. Believe me he could play his old 'red' Guild Starfire amazing in 8th grade. I have always looked up to his ability with great wonder where all that talent came from. But his singing has always lacked the punch. Occasionally he hits it. This song he hits his vocals hits pretty well.
brandon kersis. It is both. I've hear his 1960 Tele through a Super Reverb live (sometimes using a Zendrive pedal) - sounds great. I've heard the Dumble with his various 50s. Goldtop Les Pauls and with his 1966 Epiphone Riviera...also great
ive only just heard this guy recently and that surprises me because i try to keep current with the known talent must keep a low profile he actually looks sober so hopefully he,ll be around for awhile
Lou Pardini- Now playing with Chicago- filled in Bill Champlin's slot when he left for the solo career. BTW- He's not just a great Keys/Organ guy- He sings really well and had some semi hits in the '80s on his own- Big blue-eyed soul voice.
By the way, his playing on Riki Lee Jones album, I think it's called 'Pop Pop", a few years back, is superb, on an acoustic guitar firgadsake, sounded like gut strings. He's an incredible blues player, but he can probably play any style you can think of.
the man he based his playing around is michael bloomfield he loved his playing full of what he called pure happiness and that is what you get here a man who just loves to play
Just NOT true. He bought a Bloomfield record in Ukiah when he was at Ukiah high, but have you heard Bloomfield? Mike's a slammer compared to Robben. Robben has touch. Bloomfield didn't. Bloomfield didn't combine riffs. Mostly 12 bar stuff.
Anybody could tell where and when was this video recorded? or is it taken from a live DVD? THANKS!! For me there's 3 guitarists: *Steve Lukather *Larry Carlton.....and of course *Robben Ford

If you ever want to know... what a REALLY GOOD band sounds like, listen to this again.
Robben Ford is the man !
From Fontainebleau with love ! 🤗
For years I listened to this version only in love with the guitar and that organ solo. Finally, I started to pay attention to the bass. How could I be so neglectful? 11/10 Amazing!!!
Oh yess Bass Organ Guitar are so great

à tous points de vue Robben est vraiment le meilleur , ses solos me transportent , mais ou va t'il chercher tout ça ?
One of my favorite all time cuts by the master... dynamics, feel, and a great lyric. I have seen some of the world's top guitarists mesmorized watching Robben play, he is amazing and humble. I bow down...

watching robben in Cardiff tonight can't wait I love blues and jazz I have just started to listen to his music what I heard I rate him highly
A masterpiece of robben. This shows, why he is one of the most famous blues and jazz players of our time. Great performance of the band too.
You can't genrize this man's music
What do you mean by this?
Not the most famous - but the greatest in history. Period.
I think he means 'generalise'... it's the Blues, but there's such a precision, AND it has a great feel, that it defies categorisation... but it's still 'just the Blues'...
See. These people are musicians. They love what they do, and what they do as a band or individually is superb. And Robben is hot!
Françoise Dupré Robben has his own style and I love it. I’m a huge fan.
one of the best combination ever of groovy music and lyrics ... direct and profound, straight to the point in every sense
One of the all time greatest musicians .. Born with the blues in his eyes
Robben Ford is a genuine talent, no bull.
that bass tone is impossibly perfect!
Don toth That Tele tone ain't too bad either.
That's because he's one of the best underrated bass players ever..
Jimmy Earl Ladies and Gentlemen...............
Gallien-Krueger 800RB... my favourite one too... and that Fender with 3 all-in PU system is special also!
Best blues/jazz guitar player I have ever seen period.
The master! Robben is brilliant as usual
Whatta craftsman! Some people play the guitar, others deconstruct it and devote their lives to master its every nuances.
Renato
Yes ! He is the most brilliant blues player because he has studied every aspect of the music and all of the great players in the past, and his instrument .... And he also devotes himself to teaching others
A blues player deeply rooted in Jazz, opening harmonic horizons that pentatonic shreders will never reach...
I saw this live, loved it, heard the track again and fell in love with the lyrics. Soo relatable possibly my favorite song of all time
It is such a great rhythm group and I love the amazing phrasing and beautiful guitar sound of Robben.
Just a kick ass sweet melodic solo man does he know how to do it the right way
Supremo!!! Mix di pentatoniche , modali.....blues , jazz.....un mito
Wwaaayy to cool for this planet!! A true master.
Playing is amazing as always. But I've never heard sing better than this!
From the album Supernatural a fine album .
O senhor guitarrista e seus músicos, conseguem nessa música, superar oque existe de bom. Excelente.
Un maestro per tutti i chitarristi !!!!
Musicians...! and the power of a perfect song idea... brilliant...!
Grande classe, Monsieur !
Very cool, taste, tone, a master! Oh and I like the vocal, its part of him and it is what it is!
BRAVO!!
Shit, I was there! Used to live in Santa Cruz. Was going to the Catalyst at their old location in 1972.
Anyting Roscoe Beck does is amazing
Ive watched and listened to Roscoe play since the mid-seventies in Austin Texas with Tommy Taylor and Eric Johnson ! He is amazing ! I was blessed to play with Chuck Rainey for 2 years so jazz bass is just the best bottom and there is to me especially with robins amazing licks
“Yeah” - random guy in every blues gig.
What a great groove Robben Rules!!!!!
So cooool!!! You could say "this is a guitarist"!!!!! No need to play 1 billion notes per second, up for Robben!!!!!
Yep. fantastic player. I went to HS with him. Believe me he could play his old 'red' Guild Starfire amazing in 8th grade. I have always looked up to his ability with great wonder where all that talent came from. But his singing has always lacked the punch. Occasionally he hits it. Very cool. Cheers

brandon kersis.
It is both. I've hear his 1960 Tele through a Super Reverb live (sometimes using a Zendrive pedal) - sounds great. I've heard the Dumble with his various 50s. Goldtop Les Pauls and with his 1966 Epiphone Riviera...also great

Saw him at 3rd and Lindsey. Simple amazing.
By the way, his playing on Riki Lee Jones album, I think it's called 'Pop Pop", a few years back, is superb, on an acoustic guitar firgadsake, sounded like gut strings. He's an incredible blues player, but he can probably play any style you can think of.
mi piaceeee molto
텔레캐스터를 가지고 이렇게 멋진 음색을 만드는 뮤지션도 별로 없다. 너무 존경스럽다.
🔥🔥🔥 TERRIFIC 🔥🔥🔥
maybe some of you have recognized the bass player.? a master.! he made me dream all my childhood with his bass (with Abe Lab.)
It's Jimmy Earl my dear friend... 🎹🎵😉

Makes them single coils sound deep as a humbucker
that old analogue korg bx2 sounds pretty darn good
Nice job by the Organ jockey!
Magic chords and progressions .. not that hard (well not that simple though), but incredibly organic, soulfull .. it speaks
Anybody could tell where and when was this video recorded? or is it taken from a live DVD? THANKS!!
