What I love about you guys is that you never talk over each other, always showing respect and letting the other talk....pretty rare in some people. Also please never become scripted as it's much more natural and funny the way you are.
Loved this QandA. I'm so glad you don't plan out or script your videos. I think that's what makes them so relatable to the rest of us. The natural chemistry you have and your obvious and unashamed appreciation of your lifestyle is refreshing to see in an age of curated social media. So thanks and I look forward to the adventures of 2024.
Seeing Lisa and Josh in your Video just made my saturday evening 😂😂 lovely "commercial" and well done by your friends! Greetings from Stuttgart, Germany
I'm an Aussie who has not only travelled this entire country, but also visited Sedona, Arizona, & Utah and came away thinking you lived in the most beautiful part of the world. So it came as a pleasant surprise that you said you wanted to live in Australia. But that kind of attitude is what makes you both the perfect travellers. You make the most of every place you visit and don't slip into the trap of most tourists: making meaningless comparisons of every place with your home. You look for the positives all the time. If our government was smart, they'd give you the latest Unidan Unimog 535 Expedition Vehicle and support your travels for as long as you wish. The income you generate for this country in future tourist dollars would be well worth it. Good luck with your future travels. You are an absolute joy to follow.
Legit, i love you guys. I think my 2023 fave moment(s) were Cheveyo's reactions to all the " BIG " things in Australia contrasted with Tia's excitement.
I just discovered you guys a couple of months ago (and I've been following many other youtube couples for several years). And so far, I am REALLY liking your personalities, content, and style. I have watched several travel youtubers "evolve" over the last several years and here is what I suggest for you; 1) STAY CASUAL! The best thing you guys have going is your laid-back, casual approach (along with your great personalities). Do not give into the notion that a more "produced" look will impress more people. I have absolutely no desire to see a Tia & Cheveyo television show. If I wanted to watch a "show", I would watch television. Just be yourselves and stay fun, casual, modest and charming. 2) STAY LOW COST! Being human, you will want to make more income. But right now, my favorite thing about you is that you actually have to pause and think before you grab stuff off of a store shelf - exactly like 99% of the rest of us. Even if you do gradually start making bigger $$, stay the same. It's relatable. No one on earth needs another video about what it's like to fly Emirates first class. 3) Keep your electronics simple. Some of my favorite youtubers still mostly just use their smartphone. You don't need the best stuff. You just need adequate. Same for editing. Keep it simple. NO ONE watching your videos cares about stuff like color-grading. You don't need the fanciest drone. You don't need epic music. You probably don't need to spend 10+ hours editing a video. 4) Minimize "staging" shots. I get it. Seeing you walk away from the camera as if you had another person filming you can be a nice shot to sprinkle in occasionally. But as soon as it hits the watcher that this "naturalistic" shot was entirely staged, it kills the viewing experience. I recently saw a person going through something emotional on youtube and then realized that there was no way for me to see that without the shot being staged. It made me lose respect for the channel and I unsubscribed. 5) The "secret" to youtube success is the personalities of the people in front of the camera and you can't fake that. You guys have it. That's all you need. Keep it real.
I rarely comment but when I decided to encourage and compliment you someone has already expressed my thoughts exactly!😂 But I will add a comment about 'promotions'. I also follow a few couples travelling full time. An Australian man and his Canadian wife were popular with me. BUT.... they now do much shorter videos with the first 3 minutes taken by their sponsor message! 3 minutes! Way too long! I get the idea of sponsor deals but I pay for UA-cam premium to try and avoid ads. I unfollowed that couple. I like your style. Very natural. You will continue as long as you want to because you don't use gimmicks. Love it! Keep going as you are. Plus... Tia's smile is irresistible 😂
The one thing I took from that video is I'm now watching the ads. Hope everyone else does too, it will be interesting to find out if your revenue increases. Looking forward to more of your travels, particularly when you get back down under.
Your channel works imho, because we could be you, but life gets in the way. You're relatable, and the 'non polished vibe' invites us along without making us feel like losers for not living out best lives.
A lot of travel vlogs on YT are heavily sponsored and sometimes are just unrealistic. You guys are very BTS when Vlogging and that's what connects to my partner and I - and to your much loved audience. You guys show the ups and downs in travelling as how everyday people may expect and its this connection that we love. Just how simple and loving you guys are together is just so beautiful to watch. We're so happy to be apart of your postcard club and watching your videos in hopes to support more beautiful content. Cannot wait to see what 2024 brings you guys ❤
I wish you both the best for 2024. I've decided to not skip the ad today (and next videos onwards) to show my support to both of you. Good luck to both of you.
here’s an idea for a future episode. go to a media program being produced. your comments would be interesting, ie does it in any ways resemble what you do? for me, being close to L.A., i just had to go see a popular tv game show filming. i thought about my. experience on many levels: the stage set seemed “fake”, the small size of the studio, having an MC to warm up the live audience on commercial breaks. i learned a lot.
12:50 they opened the newly fixed FitzRoy Crossing bridge about a month back - it's just waiting for you to cross - Perth fan :) oh and you have to go to Iceland!
19:00 Travel fatigue: Having just done a 14 week road trip through Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, the Balkans, Slovenia and Hungary, I completely agree with you re travel fatigue. About every 10 days on average we'd have a "do nothing" day. As my mother used to say, "even God took a day off at the end of the week".
These QnA's are fun. ^^ One thing I would love to see, if you haven't already done it, is an "exploded diagram" layout (lay everything out on a bed or the floor) of what goes into your backpack. You mention 4 sets of clothes. How do you plan for multiple climate zones with so few clothes / clothes choices? As well as all the other "essential" full time travel kit...
You guys are the kind of people my husband and I would love to come across when we travel. Enjoy your time in Germany - it was a favourite for us - except the staring - I could not get used to that!
I really appreciate that you guys are skeptical about sponsors. We all understand money is money but I like the genuine and authentic travel vlogging. Those AER travel packs are VERY heavy. Used AER TP3 for a year but it was way too heavy
“ If you don’t make plans, nothing can go wrong.” Life is for living. I am a Octogenarian, this has stood me well so far. Of course it is now easier to do. Lol.
Thank you for the amazing year of videos! I've yet to come across another travel vlog channel that presents their travels as heartfelt and genuine as you guys. Seeing your videos in my subscription box lights up my day! Looking forward to more amazing videos in 2024 (:
Back this year?I.. Perfect... I was quite sick flicking through UA-cam and found one of your videos... wound up binge-watching all your Australia videos. Your warm, down-to-earth, effortlessly authentic personalities truly lifted my spirits. Feels rare these days, don't ever change. Side note, If you can squeeze it in consider a trip down to Tassie, lived there for a few years and loved the natural beauty, a lot of interesting history you might not see elsewhere and plenty of strange things to be found off the beaten track. it's an hour flight, but if you want to take Blueberry version 2.0 you can take it on the Spirit of Tasmania (a ferry/cruise-ship hybrid you might call it) leaves from Port Melbourne twice a day, i'd probably recommend the overnight trip so you can sleep through most of the voyage across Bass strait. Either way, Best of luck with the 2nd attempt. Can't wait to see you back in Aus, in the meantime i'll catch up on all your other vids 👍👍
It's always wonderful to start the year with my favourite globetrotters , Tia , Chev , Lisa and Josh as i prepare myself to start travelling after covid , i am truly blessed by the experiences , positivity and this Q&A truly set the direction for travel in 2024 and if ya ever in Denmark visiting the Queen's Castle , Do not use the locker , ya lose your cameras for sure
I just love your personalities. Just very relatable. You can tell money is not at the forefront of what you do. You value what you earn and budget accordingly. I love you guys more than another famous UA-cam travel couple 😅
We scored a repositioning cruise last minute (about 3 days before departure) from Copenhagen to LA....for only US$15 a night. Was an absolute bargain and best way to move a significant distance (slowly) as we had the time on our side.
My partner and I really loved getting to watch this together, she sat in my lap, it was cute. I agree with Moki (sp?) about showing the groceries and the prices! I also love that, it’s rarely covered on travel content so it’s hard to find out what it will be like before you get there. We are also excited to see the transatlantic cruise! I’m curious about trying one myself and i’m hoping to see the rooms and halls and just general vibe of being on a ship like that. Hope you guys have lots of fun and we’ll be watching all the travels along the way!!
Germany 10 free range eggs for USD 3.07. Apple Sauce USD 0.93. 1L Milk USD 1.15 = $5.15. Australia (Woolies) 12 free range eggs for USD 3.49 (so USD 2.91 for 10). Apple Sauce USD 1.21. 1L Milk USD 1.07 = $5.19. Matches my own experience as an Australian that a supermarket shopping trip in Germany was almost exactly the same price as home. You're right about alcohol, though!!
The cost of groceries in Aus does increase the further you are from cities or regional centres though. It's not just transport costs I suspect, but also added margin to make it worthwhile for folk to live and operate stores, roadhouses etc in, remote areas. In Europe, by contrast, there just aren't any remote locations except, perhaps, for northern Scandinavia.
As a Mazda owner, they mail me their "Zoom-Zoom" owner's magazine every so often. I couldn't believe my eyes this issue when I turned the page... and there's you guys with Blueberry!!! It was a great article and hopefully gets you a small subscriber bump. Would love to know how that came about, and if they helped you out in any way?
With the exchange rate the cost is slightly cheaper than Aus when exchanging from AUD. Alcohol dearer in AUS due to taxes as we don’t need the alcohol problems like Europe.
Re finishing the lap of Australia, come during May to September when it's the dry season across northern Australia, less likely for roads to be washed out.
I love that you guys don't like the idea of sponsors and that u just want to put raw videos. Oh my word, the "ad" was hilarious 😂. Loved this QandA. Enjoy your 2024 travels and be safe.
I like your videos and think you should do sponsorships. This will enable you to do more things. You can pick and choose which ones you truly believe in. As long as your videos don’t become one big ad, I’ll continue to watch.
Such a great video to start your 2024...I'm looking forward to seeing how you cope with the cold Northern European climate and what beautiful sites you will be able to show us.
In terms of not wanting to be sponsored.. i like that. I get that the day will come as it'll help you and your channel. But i like that you won't sell out. You're so wholesome and so "the average joe" that we all can relate to you. I won't name other channels but they sold out so much that i just can't watch them. All they do is high end stuff. But you guys are so relatable. Im proud of you ❤
It's bizarre, but I can relate to going from living in SE Asia and then driving from Perth east to the Nullarbor. It is an incredible experience and the bight where Antartica broke off is one incredible place. But then driving into far north Queensland was like driving back into Se Asia. If complete your lap, do it in a 4wd and go back to Queensland and go across the top end but through Ahmend land etc.. The Kimberly and Pilbara would kill Blueberry, especially now in the wet. And you miss so much like Kings Canyon that you couldn't risk driving on corrugated tracks. Get Mazda to give a 4WD in Blueberry Blue 2 colour..
Hi guys. Love your videos. Very inspiring. Minor quibble but just want to challenge you on the cost of groceries in Australia compared to Germany. The example you gave for eggs showed a German pack of 10 eggs for 2.79EUR (3.069USD) or 30.69 US cents per egg. Today in Australia a regular pack of 12 Woolworths brand extra large free range eggs is 5.60AUD (3.75USD) or 31.27 US cents per egg. Not too different really. Haven't done the other comparisons so could be just eggs :)
We just got back after 2 months in Europe and pretty much every grocery item is cheaper in Germany and France than Australia except for chocolate. No idea about how meat prices compare though.
Great chat guys, loved it. It’s so wonderful to hear you still talk so happily about Australia so much, and great to hear that you’ll be coming back to finish the lap. Just wait until you hit WA, the most amazing vast and ancient landscapes are waiting for you. Make sure you schedule enough time in The Kimberley and the Ningaloo Reef areas. Xx
great and interesting vid, have you ever considered a canalboat trip on a english canal, i did it once and it was the most peaceful thing i have ever done, everyone on the canals are friendly and i found that this trip had me smiling for the first time after a while of bad luck, i did the avon ring which takes you partly along the avon river, with many cool places to visit , and learn some history,
I'll definitely stop skipping through the ads. As a Kiwi living in Perth your 2023 videos have been great. I recently started watching your vids from the beginning. Your currently halfway through Thailand 😁😁.
Really fun enjoyed the Q&A, you guys have great chemistry and it come across great. Congratulations on all your success! We wish you continued success in 2024! A lot of lessons learned.
with Tia's lovely socks on prominent view, can I suggest you go to a Falke shop whilst in Germany? It's a company that specializes in really good socks! and they make awesome "house shoes"
A wonderful video Q & A and certainly a good way to kick off the New Year. You always come across as a delightful and well matched couple and how you tell your story through your videos is so natural and at times quirky ☺ Nice to hear how you both became a couple, so thank you for that little insight. With all that you do with UA-cam and how you go about it, I don't think you need to change anything and I believe if you did ever start "scripting" your dialogue, so much of yourselves would be lost. Do what you do best.... be you! As always, travel safe ❤
you guys are unreal and i love your vids.i live in Australia and it is very dear to live but we have freedom and a beautiful country with cool people so it makes it ok.
5:20...That's funny... I've been wondering if I should retain still my PO post box. I only started leasing it nearly 20 years ago because of the lack of security of my mailbox outside my unit. However it now costs about $1 a day, and it seems snail mail nowadays only consists of some bills and magazines. The post now seems to have had it's day. 12:50... 👍👍👍👍 23:15... bloopers are always good.
Love watching your travels and the love you have for each other is beautiful. I also really like how your videos are very real and not overly edited. Nowadays there are so many overly edited/ scripted videos and its nice to see the real stuff. I am going to try this type of editing and filming for our channel. good luck this year. Ill be following you along :)
I'm glad you don't do sponsorships, but at the same time I'd fully understand if you needed to for the additional income. I'd strongly suggest looking at some merchandise though -- Tia could design some "Tia for scale" t-shirts and I reckon you'd sell a fair few of those. Or she could get some of her postcard designs onto t-shirts. BTW, Northern Europe is amazing. If you can find somewhere that does dogsledding, give it a go! I did it for about a week in the Arctic (in Finland).
If you love unique natural environments which have not been overrun by human habitation, I’d love to see you visit Iceland. Stunning vistas, glaciers, volcanoes, geysers, etc. You would need to put a lot of logistics planning into it beforehand.
Love this ❤️.....Perth resident here, so very happy to hear you will finish the Western Australian leg of the big lap sometime :) love your advice about rest and taking ' me' time, I'm flying Paris to Perth tomorrow , so this is very relevant for me this week 😂
Thank you for this video- I very much enjoyed it - never loose the spontaneity in your videos, or stop being you - that’s why we all love you so much 😉😘
Great Q&A. Looking forward to traveling northern Europe with you guys My vote is Tia is more clingy, but that's ok. Better that than the alternative. ❤❤
You guys are fun. Thanks for posting your travel videos I like that many of your faves are in my country Australia. One of my faves was your trip to Turkey esp, walking through Cappadocia. Happy New Year and all the very best for safe and enjoyable travelling this year 2024.
I loved hearing all these details about you guys. You share the top spot for my favourite travel vloggers next to Jumping Places(Chris & Carol). Probably because I feel you both have the same go with the flow/chill attitude to your videos. Can’t wait to see what 2024 brings you both❤
Lovely Q&A and loved the commercial 😂 As a Finnish person, I'm happy to hear Northern Europe is on your radar! Lots of beautiful places to see, but yeah it'll be cold in February... And expensive too haha.
if you open a coffee house in australia it would be a hit as people would support you no end because you have no limits with personality wise and we know how to make em , starbucks failed here .travel now is not like the sixties , when we struggled with our suitcase but it was so adventures in paces like morroco where the locals were curious about us as well . the natural world awaits you . suggest you get a motor bike and go overland to australia from europe , it would still a great adventure ,note,, sweeden was minus 43 on friday
If the above comment by @jasgem76 reaches 50 likes, Tia should reward a postcard to this person. :)
Just saw this. You've got a deal.
@@OnePackWanderers 50 likes!!!! @jasgem76 would be very happy to get a postcard from Tia! Her new year has started off well indeed! :)
Haha yes! @jasgem76 - if you see this, send us a message on Instagram or shoot us an email 😊
That ad with Lisa & Josh is the first and only ad I’ve ever watched the entirety of - genius!! 👏👏👏 Happiness
Seeing Lisa and Josh in your Video just made my saturday evening 😂😂 lovely "commercial" and well done by your friends!
Greetings from Stuttgart, Germany
Love you guys even more for the way you go about your channel and the way you create community and stick to your values. ❤️🙏👍
Appreciate the kind words, thank you 😊
Same ❤❤❤
I love the way Cheveyo cares for you when you are becoming anxious.

As an Australian, I appreciate the use of 'kilograms' when talking about your bag weight, CHEERS!
Not Australian (I'm Finnish) but also YES, love it when people use kilograms haha!
You guys are role models of an ideal healthy relationship. ❤
I just discovered you guys a couple of months ago (and I've been following many other youtube couples for several years). And so far, I am REALLY liking your personalities, content, and style. I think you loved the Nullarbor because it actually feels like another planet. 2024, more Tia for scale.
I wouldn't say Tia is the more clingy, just more loved up from what we've seen.
Economies of scale! One of the advantages of living in a huge population. 740 million in Europe vs 26 million in Oz or 5 million in NZ
Your channel works imho, because we could be you, but life gets in the way. You're relatable, and the 'non polished vibe' invites us along without making us feel like losers for not living out best lives.
So glad to hear that you're coming back to Australia! I look forward to you finishing off 'the loop' of our beautiful country ❤🇦🇺
Never script. Just keep on doing what you are doing. That is what makes you guys so entertaining and easy to love.
This was the best Q&A ever! Thank you so much! 🎉

Great Q&A guys..sponsors/no sponsors ... whatever you choose to do, please don't let your decision compromise who you guys truly are.
just want you to know i watched all the ads in this post...i'm excited to hear/see northern europe and the cruise!

With the exchange rate the cost is slightly cheaper than Aus when exchanging from AUD. Alcohol dearer in AUS due to taxes as we don’t need the alcohol problems like Europe.
Can't wait for you to get back to Australia. Bring friends/family. You will be very welcomed
Re finishing the lap of Australia, come during May to September when it's the dry season across northern Australia, less likely for roads to be washed out.
The way you guys are doing this channel is perfect. Well done!
That ad for the Postcard Club got me so good, loved that addition! Also, the color grading on this video is gorgeous - well done guys 😊
Great video guy's. May your 2024 travels be awesome and safe. Looking forward to seeing you come back in Australia. Take care ❤❤
I love that you guys don't like the idea of sponsors and that u just want to put raw videos. Oh my word, the "ad" was hilarious 😂. Loved this QandA. Enjoy your 2024 travels and be safe.
Your Việt Nam series is dope...from Sài Gòn to Hanoi and the newest one
Hopefully more similar are coming 😊
20:32 I don’t know either but that was the sweetest and (one of the) funniest moment
Never skipping the adverts on your videos ever again. I’m sorry for all my skips 😢
Thank you Moki. I also like to know the prices of groceries.
Interesting stuff thanks guys. Looking forward to your transatlantic adventure.
Looking forward to your Northern Europe trip; currently -30°C where I used to live in Finland and wow is it expensive!
Xx
You guys now been to my adopted country Australia. I also recommend you all to go to my birth country Nepal. Mountains are even more dramatic there.
I was glued to my device watching your mad scramble ride thru Vietnam, and you think you're risk averse? It was awesome btw
Can't wait to see what else you guys bring to he table this year
Love your style. Don't change.
Wishing you a wonderful year.
Travel safe.
great and interesting vid, have you ever considered a canalboat trip on a english canal, i did it once and it was the most peaceful thing i have ever done, everyone on the canals are friendly and i found that this trip had me smiling for the first time after a while of bad luck, i did the avon ring which takes you partly along the avon river, with many cool places to visit , and learn some history,
I'll definitely stop skipping through the ads. As a Kiwi living in Perth your 2023 videos have been great. I recently started watching your vids from the beginning. Your currently halfway through Thailand 😁😁.
This just reminded me not to skip your ads next time, lol, so you can get paid! 😊👏
Same
Really fun enjoyed the Q&A, you guys have great chemistry and it come across great.
Dear means expensive, Americans wouldn't know that. 😂 I'm a Canadian in Melbourne
Haha! They wouldn't? Would they know "exy" in that context?@@ChrisJohannsen
@@Loupdelou-ly1ve Yeah nah 🙂
5:20...That's funny... I've been wondering if I should retain still my PO post box. I only started leasing it nearly 20 years ago because of the lack of security of my mailbox outside my unit.
However it now costs about $1 a day, and it seems snail mail nowadays only consists of some bills and magazines.
The post now seems to have had it's day.
12:50... 👍👍👍👍
23:15... bloopers are always good.
I'm SO glad you two are going back to Australia! Driving up the coast of WA is so magical and I can't wait to see it through your lens. :)
You can thank the supermarket duopoly in New Zealand for the insane grocery prices.
Always love watching you guys, come back to Australia when you can and continue to travel and see more stuff ;)
If you love unique natural environments which have not been overrun by human habitation, I’d love to see you visit Iceland. Stunning vistas, glaciers, volcanoes, geysers, etc. You would need to put a lot of logistics planning into it beforehand.
"Lifes short grow out your hair" Never too late. I started 3 1/2 years ago. at age 70. ✌
Just love your vibes and spontaneity. Thank you for the wonderful videos 😍❤️
maybe look at sponsor for things you would actually use on your travels. EG: Clothes, Bags, Hotels, Cars, etc.
Love this ❤️.....Perth resident here, so very happy to hear you will finish the Western Australian leg of the big lap sometime :) love your advice about rest and taking ' me' time, I'm flying Paris to Perth tomorrow , so this is very relevant for me this week 😂
Happy New Year everyone
Thank you for this video- I very much enjoyed it - never loose the spontaneity in your videos, or stop being you - that’s why we all love you so much 😉😘
Thank you for the videos! Love how organic these videos are. So thrilled that you guys get to travel so much!
We love you guys & your vibrant attitude & outlook on life. Stay Safe & keep enjoying life.
Great Q&A. Looking forward to traveling northern Europe with you guys
My vote is Tia is more clingy, but that's ok. Better that than the alternative. ❤❤
That's what I said, lol
Happy New Year Guy's!!!🎇🎆🎉🎊🐲from Brisbane💙🇦🇺
You guys are fun. Thanks for posting your travel videos I like that many of your faves are in my country Australia. One of my faves was your trip to Turkey esp, walking through Cappadocia. Happy New Year and all the very best for safe and enjoyable travelling this year 2024.
I loved hearing all these details about you guys. You share the top spot for my favourite travel vloggers next to Jumping Places(Chris & Carol). Probably because I feel you both have the same go with the flow/chill attitude to your videos. Can’t wait to see what 2024 brings you both❤
It can be even cheaper.sometimes the Grocery Stores in Germany having Promoted Prices on their Products.
I was just mindful not to skip the ads! Love you guys.
That was such a fun video to watch. You two are the sweetest! Looking forward to your adventures this year. 🥰
Sometimes I can see the buy coffee thing at the top and other times I can’t find it even when looking!
