you're being creative with your budget and still finding the ability to explore local culture and customs - impressive work and enjoyable to see your adventures!
Glad to have you here visiting :) Where you bought the meatballs is called "Östermalms hallen" and thats in the poshest part of town called Östermalm, where most things are pretty expensive since most people who live there have a higher income then the other neighborhoods in town. I do think its a bit sad that you came here during the winter, because Stockholm or the south part of Sweden is kind of boring during the winter compared to the summer since i feel like you are more limited during the winter here with activitys and so on, compared to the North of Sweden where you can go snowmobiling, or skiiing and those kinds of winter activitys. During the summer, thats when Stockholm and the south really comes alive and its daylight almost like 19h/24h of the day. Sweden in the summers are AMAZING. People are very active in the city at resturants, bars, clubs and there is events and stuff almost everyday like small festivals and stuff. You can go by boat into the archipelago and visit the island towns there. Go to the beach or bathing from the cliffs and so on, its really nice :) One other cool thing that i like to do during the summer is visitning the castles around Sweden, like Skokloster Castle or maybe Stora Sundby Castle since im a big history nerd i love those kinds of trips, and its a very unique part and heritge of Sweden and Europe i think people should take time to visit. 😃
I know that this is an odd comment but I think you are one of the most romantic couples I've seen. How attentive Cheveo is with Tia and her scarf. I love seeing her out of her comfort zone at the Sheraton with the anti-food waste app - which is something you both should be proud of doing. I wish more people would do this and not feel any shame. One of the most romantic scenes braving the cold while eating your meals together and just enjoying nature. I know it would be great if you had more money to spend but I don't feel like this segment was chaotic; it was just very natural. In the social media age where everything seems over-produced, you are winning over some of us who are jaded and disgusted with excess when it comes to travel.
@@pierrenilsson6189 Excuse me? They aren't having sex on camera. If you have a problem with a couple expressing their real affection for one another on camera, that's a YOU problem.

More authentic old-world European winter charm - loving it! Food wastage is a pet peeve of mine so great to see a program that benefits those doing it tougher/on a tight budget. Enjoy seeing your budget-wise vlogs that show you how to travel on a shoestring even to the more expensive countries so don’t think they’re not informative and appreciated - just keep doing you! Feel better Tia - it sucks being so unwell while travelling in a foreign country - Cheveyo is so caring and supportive!
That big white boat is the af Chapman. Back in 1990, when I was backpacking, it was a youth hostel (and it may still be). A great experience to actually sleep on the boat at night and drink beers on the deck after a day of walking around the town.
I hope Tia feels better very soon, and I just wanted to say - You guys rock!! I love watching your stories - they are a part of my life, nearly every day - So thank you for all your work and travel - I know you enjoy it, but understand that it can be difficult to deal with. I just wanted you to know, there is at least a couple of South Aussies cheering you on! Go you good things!!
Welcome to my hometown and enjoy! You should come here in summer, you're gonna love it. There is so much to do and see and take the boat out in the archipelago. That's something you never will forget or regret.
Fun video! Stockholm looks really pretty. I wonder if the Scandinavians put extra emphasis on making sure their cities aren't dreary in the winter because it lasts so long there.
Glad you still enjoyed Sweden despite it being winter and Tia starting off being sick. As some have commented already regarding the alcohol in public., Yes, it is illegal "within the City limits" , but if you're an adult, behaving, police generally will not bother you. Especially a "folk"-beer as the ones you got. (weaker, at 3.5%, allowed to be sold in general stores). Hopefully you get to revisit in the summer now that you have a reference point in the wintertime! Oh and yeah, that guy politely asked if it was OK to take a picture with you sitting there :) Good luck on future travels guys, you're awesome!
Most seem to need for read up on alcohol rules in Sweden.. The illegal part is more complicated than a general ban it is rather the opposite. You are allowed to drink alcohol in public areas. Every district (kommun in Swedish) set their own rules and hours so for example it is allowed to open up wine or other stronger spirits in more places than not, there are rather exceptions where you are not allowed. So they would have been fine even with stronger drinks than 3,5
I agree with others, no need to worry about how your video came across. It is still interesting and plenty of smiles/chuckles at this end 😊 Hope Tia continues to feel better. Look forward to your next adventure. Travel safe ❤
Thank you for the video & information. We traveled to Stockholm a few years back & only for a few days. Watching this makes us want to come back for a longer visit- such a beautiful city. Remembering that it didn’t get very dark at night. Big cheers from Melbourne 🍷!

Love the video and I'm taking notes 😂 I'm Aussie and just did Germany , Switzerland ( mega $$) , France and UK over Christmas and am now in the planning stages for Scandanvia in 2025/26. I really want to go in winter ( maybe to avoid the heat of the Western Australian summer) , so seeing you guys doing it in winter is awesome. I'm kinda hopeful accommodation is cheaper in winter 🤣
I love Stockholm, it's so charming and beautiful. And glögg is the best, and anything lingonberry is my favorite flavor in the world. I've never had lingonberry glögg, I need to look for that vendor the next time I'm there! The meatballs in brown sauce with lingonberry jam really is a traditional Swedish meal! My friends usually eat them over egg noodles, but mashed potatoes sounds even better.
Great to see your experience during winter in Stockholm. But I need to echo that you should really visit in summer as well. 🤣🤣 I'm sorry but it was so funny when you walked into shot and Tia was swinging the bag of leftovers. Haha it's 5 o'clock somewhere. I ate your cookie 😉. haha I didn't notice the "artwork" until you pointed it out. Enjoyed the video. I really want to go to Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
I saw Cheveyo in Malmö but by the time I parked I couldn't find you to say hi! But I live in Sydney for half the year so maybe you can do a meet-up next time.
That glögg is most likely non-alcoholic, or with a low abv. Swedish alcohol laws are quite strict and prevent selling take away booze on the street :) Too bad there was no Malmö episode, that city is awesome.
The places where you're not allowed to drink alcohol in public in Stockholm are marked. For instance if you had turned the other way where you had the lookout spot with the "art" in the snow you would have seen a park where the sign on the park gate tells you that you're not allowed to drink alcohol in that particular spot. These places are pretty rare and there aren't any on the island below the lookout spot where you sat to eat.
I hope some Swedish fans in Stockholm ar able to buy you dinner! If you come to Zurich, Ive got a free guest room and Ill invite you for a meal :) all the best
Been loving your food tour of the world 😂 Hope you got to see the Vasa Museum, my opinion the best museum in the world and I’m not into old historical ships 👍
It's cold and grey across the U.S. and... cold & grey in Europe, too! Meanwhile, it's summer in South America (and - for now - Argentina is cheaper than Thailand). I look forward to watching again when you get there, or ANYWHERE, beyond the current grim, winter-gripped cities.
Love Stockholm. Please go back in summer too and spend some time. Beautiful with lots of forest walks and lakes close by!
The guy in the end said "Is it ok if I take a picture while you guys are sitting there?" amazing video.

I’m such a foodie and honestly what you guys did for breakfast is genius haha love it. I’ve never heard of the app but I’m gonna check it out!
It's a shame you got too sick to film in Malmö, I hope you were still able to enjoy the city a little
Appreciate you alls ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I hope some Swedish fans in Stockholm ar able to buy you dinner! If you come to Zurich, Ive got a free guest room and Ill invite you for a meal :) all the best
you guys are such a cool vibe.
Been loving your food tour of the world 😂 Hope you got to see the Vasa Museum, my opinion the best museum in the world and I’m not into old historical ships 👍
the jam goes over the meatballs/elg/rendeer.
Nice video 😁Sweden is horrible in winter🥶nice in summer😊
It's cold and grey across the U.S. and... cold & grey in Europe, too! Meanwhile, it's summer in South America (and - for now - Argentina is cheaper than Thailand). I look forward to watching again when you get there, or ANYWHERE, beyond the current grim, winter-gripped cities.
Like the positiv vibe ❤
19:08 I thought the matrix glitched!!! Everyone in the background froze for a photo 😂😂😂
08:45 That is such a great deal ! Especially when you compare it to a $7 coffee in Copenhagen lol
This was a very nice video! Btw glögg would be pronounced kinda like glug in english. ö kind makes an "uh" sound like the u in nut.
Great video, try to explore summer in Stockholm ❤❤❤
Greetings from Copenhagen. You guys are so sweet 🙂
Love from Sweden ❤🇸🇪
Norway next? ;) ;)
