The history of banana flick is very interesting. This is from the narrator at the beginning of the introduction. "Once upon a time in Belgium, a table tennis coach conducted a lesson with a child. The child returned the ball in such a weird way with lots of spin that the coach could not receive and return it. The table tennis coach was very surprised with the tremendous amount of spin this weird return generated. So he took it for the further study and that is the birth of this new modern back hand flick - banana flick." Then in the middle section of the video, the narrator took it further for some in depth analysis of FZD's flicks. He also mentioned that this flick is a lot more versatile and a lot more powerful and spinny than the forehand flick because you can flick on either side of the ball depending on which side of the table the ball lands.
