    Great video. There's a video with Pitchford demonstrating his flick. He closes the paddle a lot more. Of course, he is among the best in the world 🙂.
    For those who don't have a wheel contraption, use an empty water bottle with a ball on top (remove the cap). Brush the ball off without knocking the bottle down. Don't remember where I saw this, but I found it a great way to develop spin.

    • @PechPongTT
      @PechPongTT  2 роки тому +3

      That’s an awesome way to learn! I may use that thanks for the idea. Yeah pitchford creates great speed and is very precise I think as a player improves they can slowly close the angle little by little to get more direct linear speed speed

    This is absolutely incredible! You touch on so many different facets of the flip! As a ~1900 player trying to improve, I really want to build more flips into my game, but I often lose confidence during matches when I have trouble judging spins and depths. Your discussion on paddle angle, looseness of the wrist (I'm penhold, but same concepts apply), and footwork was super helpful! Fantastic stuff, one of my biggest fears is flipping the ball, you pin pointed my error, which is to attack hard and fast with a closed bat, which fails 90% of the time meaning I simply just push these days, now I try to push short then long to try and get a weak shot to attack, not good enough really and ends up being a push to the death.
    Great, I’ll try opening my bat, maybe my confidence will return to take the shot.
    Thanks.

      Yeah its a bit of a struggle, you can work on the other strength bars of your game such as moving or strength or flexibility, that way when you come back to the table you will be a more capable version of yourself!

    Great quality stuff as always👍 One thing: Maybe you could have also talked about the recieving position. I recall you briefly mentioned this in a video already, for example flipping like zjk from in between the bh corner to the middle of the table or like harimoto more from the middle, so that you can flip also from the fh side. For me this makes a big difference how to reach out to the oppenents serves. Nevertheless, best regards from Germany:)

    Nice! Could you give more explain how to change contact points according to incoming spin.

    • @PechPongTT
      @PechPongTT  2 роки тому +1

      That’s a good thought, the below position will change depending how far you want to contact on the side of the ball and if you want to contact more on the top of the ball. The backswing of the wrist will have a large impact on if you can touch more of the back,top or side of the ball. It’s hard to describe in words but maybe a new video on that is due.
