Quick tips: 1- Derek Lieu has unloaded much of his exp as a game trailer-editor for free - he has several info-packed conference talks posted, from GDC, Game Devs of Color, and others, and a Video Game Trailer Academy YT playlist - highly recommended! 2- If you can output to separate video tracks, based on diff cameras (or rendering-layers), you can record the gameplay & UI in parallel, then remove/overlay them as desired in a way that works (doesn't have to match original). Similar deal with sound effects/SFX, you could record those to a clean audio track, separate from the music, and then slice/mix it back in however you like while keeping the sync.
For Unity, the Recorder tool supports setting this up in a reusable config, but you may be able to customize any footage-capture setup to do so by playing around with sources & outputs. Haven't used DaVinci, but any video editor that supports multiple tracks would be able to accept multiple video/audio clips 🎞
Saw the trailer when it dropped - it's punchy! 😎 I really liked the *"thunk"* of the Gauntlet slamming on-screen, and the snappy but comprehensible pacing of the room-to-room edits. Only part that's so-so is the character-select screen - wouldn't necessarily include it at all, since you do show off each playable character and their abilities. Maybe if you're worried ppl will be confused, have a title card "4 Playable Characters!!" 🤔
And if you're tracking reach - YT did notify me when the trailer dropped :) The Gametrailers one showed up in my feed as well.

Lots of useful info as always, I'm learning a lot from your channel. I'm definitely planning to have a better trailer made as soon as I've got a few more zones to show but this has been really helpful, especially turning the music off rather than just muting the game, so that I still have sound effects. Congrats on your five year anniversary as well 💚
Don't be afraid to create multiple types of trailers either! Think this is the third or so for this game, and I might do another one closer to release (just so I have something to do PR about again 😏)

there is difference between visual-story trailer to gameplay trailer. both are good and have a part, but if its "buy or not to buy" gameplay one is more important
