I just subscribed to your channel. I like the S197 mustang fastback platform with the LS engine package. Makes for a great Drag n Drive car. One day I hope to get one for a daily driver.
Do you know the driveshaft length?I'm building one very similar to this. I'm hoping I can use a stock length driveshaft from .older stang or camaro. Thanks just subd
What's all done to the engine? did you get it built?, I'm working on a 5.3ls build for my old s197 and not sure what I wanna do yet, did you get a rebuild?, and how much miles is the motor pushing?
I built it myself, engine is a LC9 aluminum block 5.3 that had around 190k miles on it I believe. Didn’t even open the bottom end other than dropping the pan to change the oil pump, Truck Norris cam, lifters of course, upgraded rockers, all from BTR. (Cam came as a kit with springs and pushrods)
@@NexusRacingChannel I’m getting a kit with basics not building a race car just need a project to work on so the price to performance seems sort of worth it
Short answer, no. With the 6 speed Holley control it asks you a series of questions like tire size rear gear ratio and stuff and from that it gives you basic options like a stock or performance option and let’s you change shift points with the handheld scan tool it comes with but in the computer software it allows you to do in depth tuning
The Mustang crossmember and 6l80 mount were left alone but I added an adapter plate, since the 6l80 mount is a single bolt in the center, and the Mustang crossmember has a big hole in that area
I ran a holley terminator x max, if you’re asking about they “key on” from the harness I ran that to a switch for a few reasons, I could make a vid about that this weekend explaining the wiring
I got one made locally, the length isn’t too far off but the mustang driveshaft has the weird slip joint in the middle and I didn’t want to deal with that. Otherwise I’d have put the proper slip yoke on and tried it
Yep, I had a 4l60 beside it and it looks like the “center line” of the 6l80 is higher up. The case also tapers down faster and smaller than the 4l60 just from the looks of it

I appreciate the Sub and I agree the s197 platform is a good daily and is set up great to make some decent power
This is awesome I’m putting a 5.3 in my s197 soon
That’s wassup man, I hope I can take some guess work out of it for you
What wiring harness did you use?
It’s all from Holley, I made a video that went over it if you want to check it out

From the face of the rear end flange to the back of the output shaft was 4ft 5.5 inches. And thanks for the sub G🙏
Thanks brother appreciate you

Probably at work🥸

any transmission tuning required for the 6l80?

How did you modify the transmission mount?

Did you run the holley?? and if you did or didn’t, how did you wire your ignition??

@@NexusRacingChannel that would be hella helpful thanks!!
@@NexusRacingChannelI'd love to see a video about that!

6l80 fit with no hammering?

Can't hear you
