Sure thing! I didn't know it for a long time either, until I was following behind a friend who was test riding mine and wondered why I never saw any brake lights when he was slowing down 😅
Great review and better than most. The adjustable seat is cool, but fits the montra of "just another thing to break", as we see here. The Outset has a fixed seat height which I prefer. For electric motorcycles, weight affects range a lot, and this bike is a full 110 lbs heavier than the Land District Street. Sure the Anthem is lighter than your full size Honda but the Land weighs 220# with the 5.5kW battery. The Ryvid is less expensive yes, but less expensive, in this case translates to heavy.☹I wish it was lighter because the price is very appealing.
Thank you for the kind words! It would be cool if we could see some weight reduction, and a similar price point. Hopefully as the Electric Motorcycle industry progresses we'll see more of that in the near future!
range anxiety is too much for something like this. new battery and it's not going to get any better as time goes on. we all know what new smartphone batteries do over time. $4000 for a new battery is extreme as well. swing and a miss for this one.
That's a fair point. Once I accepted only using the Anthem for commuting and running errands, I don't really worry about range anxiety... but I'm fortunate to still have my gas bike for when I do want to go adventuring. Or for those days I want to ride the Anthem but realize I forgot to charge it 😂
Very interesting review. im very excited to see additional reviews from your experience riding this electric motorcycle . Hopefully, you get that adjustable piece you need. Stay safe out there.
I ended up getting a piece custom made with a local fabrication shop, since I'll be riding it at the full position at all times. It works like a charm!
I had the battery issue once. Last time I checked I had 60% and 3 days later I jumped on for ride. 1 block later I looked a the dash and I saw it at 5%. I turned around a limped back. Recharged and told Ryvid. But it hadn’t happened again. 🤞
The Land Moto District Scrambler to me would've been a better buy but this one does have some potential as long as the company stays profitable. Electric motorcycles and electric bikes in my opinion are a better option rather than buying an electric car.
I've seen the Land Moto at AIMExpo and One Moto and it seems pretty awesome! Sadly I haven't gotten to test it at all yet... hopefully soon 🤞 What do you like better about Land Moto?
Land is nice, but to get close to the 4.3kw battery on the Anthem, you have to spend so much more! The Anthem has a greater value now that they dropped the prices.
I did not finance mine. all told registration cost me about $1,100, though this was before the price drop so sales tax will be a good bit less now. I'm in Colorado. I got minimum coverage insurance through Progressive and it was about $75 for a year.
@@MicromobilityIndustries Thanks for the reply. Ironically like a day after posting this comment I found a UA-cam short demonstrating this. I am DEEPLY interested in buying this because I literally never go on long trips and want to get an electric motorcycle, but the prices on others, while the tech is good, is far out of my reach... This seems like the utterly perfect in between thing I need. Though as of right now I do not have my motorcycle license, but I plan to solve that when things cool off here in Arizona. I ride an ebike loyally and use it for every single form of commuting (except when it's far too hot here) except for groceries and the once a month long trip.
@@AdamasOldblade Definitely, if you don't need to do long trips then the Anthem is hard to beat! It would be a great bike to learn on too. I just passed 700 miles on mine and will be making another review video once I get to 1k.
Would you recommend this bike for someone whos 6'3? I felt a bit small on a Grom, but I def don't mind it being a bit smaller then average. I'm curious how the size is compared to a Ninja. Great review!
I'm 6'3", I would recommend it. Since my seat actuator is broken and stuck at the lowest position it is a bit cramped, but I've gotten to test ride other Anthems with the seat all the way up and I feel pretty comfortable on there. Haven't ridden a Ninja, but it feels much better than my friends CBR!
@@MicromobilityIndustries great to hear, just got my M license and can't wait to get one of these. Was considering the Outset, but I like the Anthem for the storage options.
I've heard from a couple newer owners that the regen switch now triggers the brake lights. I am not sure if it's only with the upgraded ASI controller, or maybe just a newer firmware from Ryvid 🤷🏻
@@MicromobilityIndustries That is helpful in sport mode, but since the regen is always on in eco mode, I guess I still have to be careful about people behind me when in eco, which is a lot with the new controller.
ECO mode would be the most efficent way to drive. Regen braking isn't loosing any energy, it's recapturing it via electrical induction from the motor. The induction is what creates the "braking" action, reducing speed and recapturing energy. The only way this would be less effient than any other mode of drive would be if the rider had no ability to learn how to use the feature and judge it's stopping power along with needed distance to stop resulting in always inefficent usage of the feature. If you're going to review electric modes of transportation, it would be to your benefit to learn the basics of how electricity works along with basic motor control theory. These are not complex topics and would serve to better educate your viewers along with giving you the confidence of knowing what you're talking about when it comes to electric vehicle features like regenerative braking systems.
Hey there, thanks for your comment! One would think Eco would be more efficient, but I'm not sure it is for how most people ride. My statements on this are based on my own observations and the discussion here: www.reddit.com/r/ryvid/comments/1cn6acs/sport_mode_is_significantly_more_efficient_than/ Some of my other observations: - Both Eco and Sport mode will show -54amps when they are recapturing energy via regen braking, but the actual stopping power of Eco mode is much more powerful (stops you more quickly), which to me means that it's wasting some of that kinetic energy - In Eco mode it's quite difficult to coast as there's not much of a neutral position in the throttle; you're either accelerating (using lots of power), maintaining speed (using a little power), or regen braking. Regen brakes don't re-capture all the kinetic energy perfectly, some of it gets lost to heat or friction - In Sport mode it's very easy and natural to coast, rolling along without using any power and without losing any kinetic energy to the regen brake
@@MicromobilityIndustries Yes, please do!!! We are eager to see the follow up review and how the fast charger install goes and how how quickly it can fill up from day 40 to 90 percent and also if you are going to do the controller upgrade!

whats the costs and how does it ride..also do u need a plate for it
You'd have to check with your local regulations, but most likely you will need a plate for it, as it is not classified as a "bike".

Okay I’m confused. If you pull up to a level 2 charging point with the optional adapter. Where does it plug in?
You use your regular charging cord, the end that usually goes into the wall will plug in to the back of the adapter.
