Woooowwwww sooooo awesome!!!! Thank you so much for covering this bike! I’m so excited for mines to arrive
I have been searching for a video like this on the Outset. THANK YOU! I’ve been comparing E-motorcycles for the last 5 months because I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on one and since the Outset came up on my radar, it’s jumped to the top of my list and this video helps with my decision. So thanks again for your vids!
Yeeey new video for the Ryvid!! Thank you kind sir!
I don't remember if you mentioned the seat before, but I'm curious about the comfort. Kyle, you seem to be the only reviewer I've seen who knows how to do a proper review. Many reviewers hop on a bike and start talking, but have no specs or knowledge in their head of the bike they're reviewing. Nor do they do range tests properly. Thanks for doing it all the right way.
I dont have the production seat on the bike, so 🤷. Shape is good, but firmness will be different from the bike I've got on hand.
Four years of watching Kyle, and I continue to learn new things! I still love my Crusader!!!
Between the two videos, I think you did a GREAT job reviewing the Outset ... THANKS.
Yay ive been waiting for this video. 🎉
I would devise a lock for the battery. Having to disconnect any battery every day roll or carry it somewhere to charge it. Then roll it back and reinstall it. Is a drag and problematic. Such as simple wear and tear on high current connectors. It's best to find a safe place to park and plug.
Overall, it looks very nice and well designed.
Thanks sir enjoyed
Peace Prospector Tripp
It has a combination lock built into the battery
Great review, thank you!
There is a “secret” storage spot for the cord. Under the seat there’s a two velcro strap. You can wrap it up and store it there. I use that spot for a foldable backpack spare, but carry my cord in my normal riding backpack.
As always great information! Even though the bike is more then I need it was a great watch. Hope you had a great 4th and nice shirt. I’m in Benicia CA and the 4th is a “two day” parade one day fireworks celebration‼️
Saw the previous video and was waiting for this one. I live in Middle Tennessee and just going from home to work is 11.1 miles at a mix of 70, 65, and 55 mph zones.
I really want an Electric bike but man am I weary of the low range they get. Even just trying to get to Nashville is 87 miles away. Hopefully these batteries get better.
Right on!!!
I plan on getting a Ryvid when my Onyx eventually craps out, hope they stick around for many years to come!
Get a gas bike n save yourself grief
@@obeii1805 And go back to oil changes, clutches, transmissions, gas stations, toxic fumes, vibrations and obnoxiously loud noises? I went electric to get away from all that. No thanks.
@@DesuVR still gas is the more practical transportation, I started on electric, I get it , but reality is reality.. everything mechanical need service to maintain its mechanical function .. don’t u need food and sleep? anything that moves in motion need maintenance.. those cells in those batteries don’t last long enough and soon enough the performance on those e motorcycle will be that of a e bike , swapping cell can be expensive if u have to take it to a shop , or better yet replacing a battery period cus bad cells causes more bad cells ..and don’t forget about aftermarket parts , and repairs etc .. you’ll be forced to deal with the company unless your mechanical gifted, these e motorcycle come with much more that no1 talks about that you’ll only learn from being a long term owner when they don’t act right .. And when they act up and they do much more than gas bikes believe it or not , it’s hell trying to get them up and running again unless you can do it all yourself without voiding any warranty..
@DesuVR I’m with you on a couple things. The low maintenance low noise equaling being able to go on and off road with the outset without upsetting people and getting unwanted visits from law enforcement because of noise complaints is the way to go. Not only that but basic city urban commuting, this will work perfectly.
Also! I love my RCR. I’ve had mine for years and use it more than my Silverado for around town. But now I want more power haha.
Nice and everything.. I don't think I would feel engaged , not shifting or listening to the motor and exhaust. Just engaged planning my next battery refill 😂
They're almost there. Still some real concerns with speed, commuting and battery. I.e. having 64% battery one day not charging for the next you may have to find an alternative route you won't be able to travel downtown high speeds that the bike will struggle to keep because the battery percentage. That plus the typical range anxiety. I wouldn't want to top off charge to 100% each day. I do like removable battery to store in the winter seasons though. Can't leave something like that exposed to Midwest heat and cold temperatures in my garage.
So, around 1500watts is sweet spot for motor and range.
But problem is 30mph speed limit.
Unpopular opinion but, it probably need at least 3 gears, with big ratio difference to turn 1500watts into 50 or 60mph.
The Anthem’s not a bad choice; there are only a handful of e-moto’s that come close to it given its value & bang-for-the-buck.
It's one of the best deals on emotos right now.
🎉 Again, Kyle this looks sweet and I would think they will sell quite well. And if some of the newer battery formulations trickle down this all gets better and better. So, the pregnant question is how much for a spare battery to have for a quick swap out while the other charges? And at its present state I could commute to SF to a job I might take no problem. It's a 40 plus round trip, but I'd have charging available at the shop so no Pro Blema. You could also get a small handle bar bag for charger cord.
Batteries aren't cheap! But they are working on bringing the battery cost down quite a lot. Can't say the rough figures I was told but it was very reasonable for spares.
I'd love if you could test and bench the Cycrun Cycknight.
It's a 20x4 fat Tire ebike peak 750w
Other brands carry the same bike.
Ex: Fiido M1 is the same thing.
Different skin
Thats stepping on ebike toes
The exponential range from off is maybe the biggest turn off for me from electric motos. I understand you can't cheat physics, but it's a huge deal breaker.
Kyle, that bac 8000 is being held back😅
Can you comment on how comfortable the ride is? How's that saddle? How does it compare to the saddle for the Anthem? Thanks!
💯‼️💙
What is the seat height on the Outset? I know the Anthem has an adjustable seat height.
Nice
I have the v3 Goat bike and I watched your stem change. What is the size of the bar. Is it 22.2 or 25.4. I think the bar is 7/8 of an inch but I need the mm size?
This has the largest problem that all electric motorcycles have...you can go 100 miles (Livewire), and it's great, but takes forever to charge so it's not good for a daytrip, only a commute. Thanks
exactly! that's why it should be 6k instead of 16k.
I'm going to test a Ryvid Anthem tomorrow here in Chicago, do you think I should wait and buy an Outset or go ahead and order a Anthem?
If you need the seat height adjustment or prefer the looks buy the anthem and get it now. 😀 I think I'll be waiting for an outset.
The Outset comes with the upgraded ASI controller ($800 value) if you order by July 31st. Technically you could add the seat mechanism at a later date, but I'm not sure what that would cost. Ask about the upgraded controller when you do your test ride, hopefully they have both models available to try out.
@@Tweak42 yes that’s my main issue that the Anthem doesn’t come with that controller and when I add the $1,300 extra that would cost the bike end up costing $7,800 basically for the same bike. The thing in my case is that by the time I get the Outset who knows how much time I have of summer time here in Chicago to ride it because when the temperature goes down it will be stored until next year 🥴.
@@Area13ebikes Question I'm ready to order my Anthem, should I get the Dunlop tires or the thinner Pirelli ones? I won't do any off road but I think the Dunlop look nicer that the thinner ones. I heard it could impact the range about 5 miles if I take the thicker ones.
Can you put the motor goat to the test I’d love to see the Dyno test results and range. Maybe also the Ridstar Q20 pro.
Already did one Goat bike! ua-cam.com/video/oPEQekr7rrk/v-deo.html
@@Area13ebikes thanks!
69 Miles at 1%... Nice
Very awesome bike , probably the best in its class , I’d rode a land and it range/speed wasn’t enough for the 12k price tag , never rode a zero fx but I’m sure this bike is the better choice and half the price . Definitely better than my crappy rcr which I see as overpriced. Let’s see how rumble predator play, definitely need to get a review on it. I think ppl looking at this bike should wait until the predator is compared..
12k? My land moto with the biggest battery was 10k. Longer range than this bike for sure
@@RandomMotoThings what are you getting for range with the biggest battery? I think your 10k was probably after the price reduction since it was originally 12k. For 4k extra compared to the Outset, definitely would hope that the performance/range is at least $4k better. Seems like it has less power, lower top speed, single rider, slower charger, etc. etc.. just more dollars.
@@lamo6271 you get more range with land Moto big battery than you do with Ryvid. It’s also accelerates faster (although I never rode the outset version with the asi controller).
Ryvid claims about 5mph higher top speed but what I’ve noticed is that I can get up to 75 on my land Moto and its sustained no matter where I’m at in battery percentage whereas as on the Ryvid bikes, your top speed goes down once your bike is under 50% and even more after 20% which is not ideal considering the battery drains much faster than the land Moto.
I get atleast 25-30 more miles driving the same as what I’m seeing in this video. I average anywhere between 60-70 miles while staying in mode 3 at all times varying between 35 mph to 60-65 around my city.
@@lamo6271also keep in mind that it’s 10k after all my fees including delivery, registration which they do for you online if you choose, etc. The higher range is a must so for me the range and the way it feels is worth the extra money in comparison. I can assure you the cost would be huge if you wanted to get a bigger battery for the Ryvid in the future. As it stands, the cost makes sense with the bigger battery capacity and it’s pushing a smaller bike weight wise so keep that in mind.
Thanks for deleting political comments.
Yes, now please delete the pro-gas trolls. So redundant, so tedious.
Probably best to get a 500cc and spend $6 in gas for that range. Such as a Rebel 500
I mean if you are talking dollars, it's only 69 cents per charge on average in the US, that's significantly less than 6 dollars for the same range.
@@lamo6271 Not as practical for going out all day riding with real motorcycles. Or going up to the cottage 250 miles.
@@JohnBabcock-qy1cs definitely not the use case for that type of riding.
@lamo6271 would be fine if you already had a bigger gas bike and wanted something smaller for just daily commuting.
@@JohnBabcock-qy1cs exactly.
7 grand for 35 miles of range?? Whyyyy
It's 6 grand and I couldn't kill it in 35 miles. So not quite...
Rather have a gasoline powered motorcycle any day
Been there done that.
why not both?
It's bizarre that the anti-EV commenters feel compelled to share the same opinion over and over and over on videos about bikes they know they don't want anyway. Also weird they just can't grasp that some people want different things from a bike than they do.
bro, how did you lose all that weight?!
Beef, it's what's for dinner. (And breakfast and every other meal....)
@Area13ebikes that diet can be dangerous. Be careful and learn if your body can take it.
Its like vegans that get incredibly sick after a bit. Not everyones body is made to handle such diets.
