That would the sickest thing ever! I would watch nothing but guitar playthroughs over and over. It is such an awesome way to hear and experience songs differently than just listening to the record.
wait, you mean you don't want to see a playthrough where he's sitting in a fountain or by some cool rocks at the beach while you listen to the studio version??
Brian's riff writing is next fucking level. I can fathom how he wrote some of this stuff back in the day. A true metal guitar legend!! RIP Papa Trev :( We miss you!
@@ct10153 i hate to be that guy but theyre my favorite band so i have to. Ryan Knight actually wrote 2 off Deflorate and Bart for sure contributed a song. Not knocking Brian, love him to death. Hes for sure underrated and not talked about enough in guitar.
The rhythm for the solo is better than the solo itself. Props to anybody who can play this because with all the variations, even if you have the physical ability and technique to play the song you still have the challenge of remember all like 60 riffs in this song. And for me it's harder to remember variations of the same riff than completely different riffs
Brandon's composition skills are so underrated. It's like listening to Chuck Schuldiner and he can shred like Yngwie. The ultimate death metal guitarist imo.
@@preston2636 yeah same, I usually forget at least one variation playing through it. And if I don’t play it often, I definitely have to brush up on the riffs. It’s also a pretty constant speed, other than the chorus you don’t get much of a break
@@preston2636 totally! this takes me longer than usual to figure out. The worst part is I learned this song years ago with a different (false) tab and I'm mixing up all the different variations now 🥴
One of those TBDM tracks you instantly have to fall in love with, i mean how could you not? In my opinion "everything went black" embodies the brilliance, that TBDM is as a band, along with classic tracks like Statutory Ape, Miasma and Deathmask Divine. And Brandon, you, Sir are a very fine addition to this Band Hats off as usual!
@@joshpetit44 it was if you follow the band on social media and theres a whole article with ryan brian brandon and alan talking about the future and how they dealt with trevors passing and where they were.
The even more crazy part of this is knowing that you both can play this live while giving a show. I don't even know how Brian's wrist holds up with the guitar so low while playing these riffs
Finally a playthrough of this awesome song! In most of the covers, you can see how hard it is just by seeing the face of the person while playing the riffs, it is awesome how relax you look while playing it. That post-solo riff is one of the best of metal
I tried tackling this tablature about a year ago when I had some free time and I couldn’t believe the cord progression I endured on a rhythm guitar. Insane! Thanks for breaking it down a little easier for us. Brian is a genius!
One of my favorite guitar parts of all time. It always blew me away how they wrote something so complex with barely any repeating on the verses. Flawless playing as always dude🤘hope to see the new lineup on the road someday.
This is my ATF BDM song. No idea why, I just love how it flows, the snarling riffs, the uneasy sense of urgency. Awesome riffing as always Brandon! ✌️🤙🤘
While i'm very grateful that so many tabs exist, having perfect pitch makes it obvious that some select parts in tabs people make are definitely inaccurate. It's awesome being able to get even one of the 2 with no backing track as a definite guide. The riff at 0:24 through 0:35 that only plays once, it definitely has a distinct chord progression to it that is a fascinating little baroque classical sound. I'd been looking for a way to determine exactly what was played there for a long time! Thanks for uploading these man
Dude I used to play this song over and over in my old apartment. Still know most of it. The solo is so good. Im gonna polish it up tomorrow night after work
My absolute favorite track of TBDM's!! Thank you so much for this! You're such a dude, bro! 🤘 I can't wait to fill my dream of playing this on that b!tchin' Jackson. Step one...practice! On to the Shred Light District...and one day I'll have saved enough for that axe! ❤️🤘😎🤞Cheers!
I'm guessing Ryan is taking this solo? I'm sure you guys will split up solo duties, least Ryan playing the ones he wrote... I'm stoked to see you guys push onward with the new setup. Ofc I wish it didn't come to this, but I 100% support how you guys handled it with class and respect. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I need to learn this song this is easily my favorite by y'all, these playthrough videos are so helpful for hand positions and stuff. I have been slowly working on Removal of the Oaken Stake too.
Damn it Brandon! My practice time this week was more than cut in half because of overtime and travel And your just rubbing my face in it like a bad dog! YOU ROCK!!!! 💪😎👍
Thanks mate!! This is crazy to try and follow but I am determined to learn and master this song, it's within my ability but to lean by ear would take me forever haha
As much as I love guys like Josh Middleton, John Browne, hell, even James Hetfield - the over exaggarated importance of downpicking is kind of annoying. "It doesn't sound the same". Nope, but it's sure as hell possible to have a great tone and sound tight especially with faster tempos even if you're not downpicking all the time, as Brandon proves here without the drowning the sound of the guitar to drums and vocals. Awesome video Brandon, thanks for sharing!
Waiting is key UA-cam BS but to tell you I'm glad you are able to function And permit hell or anything that comes your way. You are a huge inspiration and i hung guitar up for a year over past band mates etc you are my guidance i see but i feel it more. Its about clarity who gets the sauce or not so to speak almost like watching a buckethead show I'm Goin to chicago this weekend to see him btw later on brothas and sistas be good towards one another no bs
Brian eshbach. May have spelled his name wrong, but Brian, the rhythm guitar player wrote most all of black dahlia rhythm. Dude writes some sick ass riffs and he also plays accurate and precise.
Brian, Ryan, Allen, Brandon, and then Max. I’d go to the SS office and change my name to Maxn just to fit in with the N dudes. Thanks for helping Trevor’s dudes out🤘🏼 sounds good homie😘
The world needs more playthroughs without backing tracks
Hell yeah, not many people have the balls. :)
Yeah🤘🏼🎸🙌🏼
That would the sickest thing ever! I would watch nothing but guitar playthroughs over and over. It is such an awesome way to hear and experience songs differently than just listening to the record.
Its good practice once you know the song inside and out.
wait, you mean you don't want to see a playthrough where he's sitting in a fountain or by some cool rocks at the beach while you listen to the studio version??
Insane how complex the rhythm guitar is in pretty much every TBDM song is
The rhythm is like a solo in itself
And yet it still sounds so melodic❤
As guy learning a bunch of music off of nocurtnal. The secret is starting with up-strokes!
Brian Eschbach is a riff god.

don't know why but rhythm playthroughs are more fun to watch than soloing videos
Good riffs and songwriting are so often underrated. Solos are nothing without them.
Both
Perhaps the reason is that in rhythm playthroughs you can understand what is going on lol
One of my favorite songs to play by tbdm. Such cool riffs. Love how the 2 guitar parts work together

I swear man that is just such a sick fucking riff like holy shit bro 😂
I’ll never forget buying this album when it came out and hearing this song for the first time and it blew me away and it still does!
