It might help to heat up the clutch brake with a 10$ waly propane torch just to anneal / soften the metal and make it easier to brake. Also when making the tool it might be a good idea to grind the extension slowly to avoid annealing /softening it by getting it too hot from the grinding
The part that was found in the trash is called a thimble . The thimble is on the end of a air chamber pushrod located on a trailer pintle hook assembly , it pushes the plunger against a dolly eyelet .
I have a torque limiting clutch brake it is a 1 piece. I removed it and has a rattling sound. I've had a rattling noise coming from transmission and sounds just like what i waa hearing. Any thoughts on 1 piece vs torque limiting vs 2 piece? Id like a 1 piece as the only driver but if that damn rattle comes back then I'll be sad
Hi Jake: Did you ever verify/update whether your clutch brake tool works on the one piece/factory installed clutch brakes? I run across them more often requiring replacement more often than I run across the replacement 2 piece ones. I have made the tool from a broken extension and am waiting for the opportunity to try it out. GREAT VIDEO!! Keep up the GREAT work. Best Regards Harley

Like the clutch brake tool. I mostly do Allison transmissions work. But have done a few 1pc clutch brake replacements.
It helps alot to have to not use a touch and burn your self
Very helpful, thanks
That cap you found in the trash is one half of a weld-on hinge.
Thanks that is great on the clutch brake
Thanks for the comment. Yes it does work well and way better than a torch or an air hammer!
That’s great idea on clutch brakes, I’m going to try and make 1
Thanks for the comment. They are super easy to make
It will work for one piece?
That tip on your puller is for the end of the rod on the air pot on a pintle hitch

Wondering does it not put to much torque on the input shaft? Great video
probably does less damage than a few stop and goes with an inoperable clutch brake
Does the 3/4 extension set up for clutch brake removal work on 1 piece clutch brake?🤔
I like the cluch brake tool. But It will work with a one pice clutch brake
Will that work on the one piece clutch brake
Does this clutch brake tool work on one piece style!?

Did it work on a 1piece? I've been driving without a working clutchbreak for 3 months, my calf is sore.
not sure weather to consider that clutch brake removal tool genius or insanity. looks like it could easyily do damage, but so will a cutting torch
Shop tour in the future?
I can probably do a shop tour won't be vary exciting but i can do it
