The rocks personality feels like it was made in a board meeting
😂 spot on. He is the definition of a “brand” designed to lack opinion and never offend. With nothing interesting coming out of his mouth he’s a corporate wet dream of the idealization of a safe brand Corp mascot who would never scare advertisers away by being an absolute boring tool. God I hate the word brand.
Agreed. I miss how authentic The Rock used to be back in the late 90s and early 00s before Dwayne Johnson became a big global empire. He was proud to be a republican and spoke his mind more.

Had so many opportunities to smoothly bring it up too!
Nick, glad to see you heree . Yeah I felt like the Rock made it awkward. He acts like he’s to good for Joe & that it was a waste of his time. I used to love the Rock back during the attitude era but damn after Hollyweird he hasn’t been the same guy. 🤦🏻♂️

Chael is so good at psychology it’s kind of crazy. Everyone says he makes you sit around and not get anything but he states in the first minute that the two hour podcast didn’t say the conversation everyone was waiting on.
Chael has a point. Normally Joe prides himself on being able to ask people questions that are real, but with the Rock he was playing it really safe.. it’s almost as if the Rock’s publicist told him that he will come on the Pod if Joe plays it safe and asks safe questions to him
Same with Dana. Joe does not hit upwards I'm an industry he's in...
@@up2me967 He is friends with Dana, that is different then whatever this was.
It more seemed to me like Joe was giving him the stage to address either or both issues, and the rock just ducked it all. I think if Joe had asked the rock about either, he'd have lied and Joe would have had to call it out, and it would have just ended. That or they likely had the conversation in private and had a gentlemans agreement it was done.
The rock has been talking about going on the show for a couple years too. What a dud

I hated the whole episode other than when he talked about his WWF/WWE career.
Chaels storytelling style is first class, the pauses , the cadence in his voice, speeds up slows down. Would love to see him do a storytelling set at Edinburgh pure class
The moving hos hands like a crackhead is impeccable
You can tell he actually stops to think about what he’s going to say.

@@Hmmm-13as a humble Scotsman I endorse this statement 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Chael is a lot of things you could critize him for but end of the day one of them is loyal ass friend.
Why would u ever critize greatnesses
Dwayne not coming out and telling people that he's taken anabolics for recovery is pretty weird. He could even turn around and say that he's on HRT for it due to all of the injuries he's sustained. If he's going to not say anything and pretend that the pink elephant in the room isn't there, then that just shows you how insecure he is as a man. He's always come across as someone that's trying to pretend to be someone that he isn't. It's very, very strange how genuinely fake Dwayne is.
That how you become a 'Star' in Hollywood, become a yes man, go with the narrative and then once every four years you endorse the Democrats.
Bro he doesn't have to disclose his medical history. Its none of your business. Its a taboo subject. He would lose a ton of sponsors and endorsements
Its the implications that come with him saying that. It taints the WWE, a company that he owes everything to. Last thing he would want to do and spit in their face by saying "wrestlers do steroids"
Its dishonest but it’s not weird. Its completely understandable bc there is a chance it could ruin career. A lot of pple dont know and don’t even think about him being on PEDs
@@davidh4129 bro he's not going around claiming natural like liver king. Its different

Great point here, Chael. Just because Dwayne's shot didn't kill Joe, doesn't change the fact that he took that shot and hasn't apologized. Everyone makes mistakes, comments they wish they could take back, but - in my books - you've got to put that apology on the record.

In all fairness Joe did most of the talking. Just yammered on and on about nothing with spurts of the rock interjecting in agreement
This video should have ended with the SNL clip of the rock saying “Hail Satan”. He’s a weasel.
Is that the one where he was a scientist/doctor selling a robot that m*lested kids? He's really gross and spineless..
You can always count on uncle Chael to say out loud what all of us are thinking, especially about the whole Pride thing..
I genuinely couldn’t tell if the Rock was lying about that or not, I think most people are going to assume he’s lying because he’s the Rock though lol
@@riggsreacts Him lying about it would be the best case scenario.. Worst case is he actually believed he could go into Pride and survive a single fight
Hard to say if it’s true or not. He doesn’t have to be good to go there or to even win. There was lots of pro wrestlers there and sone of the. We’re shit fighters. They don’t have to give you tough opponents or even fighters to fight. Hell the fight doesn’t even have to be real. Who knows what they would do for even an unknown Rock at that time. If they saw potential they could use him many ways to get him over with fights real or fake in Pride. If he started training there is many guys he could hang guns with over there. Especially since they never followed their own weight classes.
But there was no change he was thinking of making a career out of fighting there. Getting a paycheck use it to get into NJPW. Sure!

I know it will get millions of views, but I really can't imagine wanting to listen to Joe Rogan talking to the Rock on any level.
Literally, like bro, talk to someone who matters and is interesting. Not the rock 😂
LOL
I can't imagine why anyone still listens to Rogan in general unless there's an interesting guest.
@@paulcarrisoza8526to be fair he has done quite a bit, pro wrestler, actor, highest paid actor, like come on, he’s not the best actor, basically plays jungle Dwayne or hockey Dwayne but still 😂
The rock is interesting...he was on time magazine and is a multi-billionaire in the entertainment industry. Also he was a popular wrestler with great mic skills. Possibly has more star power than even Sylvester stallone and Conor MacGregor combined. He has multiple successful businesses. So he is interesting.
Great job at laying down what happened. Hadn't seen the interview and now don't have to. Thank you for sparing me the agony!
Chael is a real one man. He just says it like it is nothing more nothing less and if he feels like it he'll lie his ass off for fun because everyone knows whats up.
wow... this episode was so straight up... you said everything we were thinking...
Yeah it seemed so fake.
Rock : what kind of car do you drive
Joe; I have lots of cars
Rock: I only drive trucks
The Rock is either very dumb or very evil. Given his profession, both are possible. After hearing this interview and seeing how chummy he was with Shumer, I'm leaning to the latter.
He definitely exposed himself
I'd say he's very sanitised. He seems like he'd apologize for some chinese jokes he made back in the WWE
The best bit was when Rogan asked the Rock if he had any fighting experience, and the Rock responded “yes, my dad used to be an amateur boxing and sparred a couple of times”
@frankp7270 that wasn’t funny.
@frankp7270 you'd probably be surprised. a lot of videos of bodybuilders fighting and being strong and having big muscles has little to nothing to do with throwing a hard punch, and in fact is going to be more detrimental than anything. As someone who has done BJJ for 5 years i can tell you that they're strong but they have shit mobility, they burn out twice as quick, and they just completely rely on their delusion that they can simply squash anyone smaller than them. Comments like this really just tell everyone about your experience level rather than anything about OP or dwayne
why was it good? cause the rock doesnt fight and is a fake tough guy? wow so cool
@@sammysam3905It’s funny because he tried to pass that off as fight experience. He could’ve just said no.

“We don’t touch boys…” haha! Chael is fearless. Legend!
I had no idea the Rock jumped on the dogpile. Thank you for keeping me in the loop. Fantastic videos
technically he didn’t, but kinda did. Basically at first he said he supported joe and wanted to do his podcast, then someone tweeted the n word compilation to him then he said he wouldn’t do because he “didn’t do his research” on Joe.
yes I remember the comment - he was now "educated as to his complete narrative."@@eveningstar7812

@@codychickadee5095 nah it started with that ‘n word compilation’ hit job of Joe before that.
Chael is spot on here I didn’t know what he was trying to say in his first video on this topic but I hear what he is saying now
Chael is missing the fact that the Rock is still getting a lot of heat because of him and Oprah trying to swindle poor people out of their money over the Hawaii wildfires.
Thank you Chael Sonnen, I knew there was something off about that episode from the beginning but i couldnt tell why. Joe seemed uncomfortable from the very beginning which was shocking to watch and it felt like they were both trying so hard to make it work.
Was the same way. I couldn't put my finger on it but just didn't seem to flow and very not personal which joe is usually best at
If I had a dollar for every time the rock said “yes” I’d have a lot 😂.
Thats because Joe is just another fake celebrity worshipped by people who think hes real. And the Rock isn't even worth assessing he is so ridiculous.
Because Joe was the only one to do any talking and the rock just sat there going “yeah… right… yep…” for 3 hours.
The rock has pretty much given up his personality at this point.
Chael Is on fentanyl
I've listed to JRE since 2012, and it's very noticeable when he's not comfortable with a guest. He also was steam rolling The Rock when Joe usually listens to his guests and then responds to whatever they bring up.
Chael is a great commentator. Level headed, well-spoken, speaks from wisdom and experience. I met him a couple times in Portland back in the day and he's totally a class-guy. All class. Same with Randy Couture
No one delivers a better last punch line like Chael.
I don't like the rock either, but I'd do it for a fiver and some new shoes. Who is paying? When you have a wife as ugly as mine and kids as unquestionably not mine as 'my' kids... your time becomes worthless. So, I disagree, I'd absolutely listen to the rock for two hours if someone paid me.
It just says a lot about Rogan as a person, he genuinely doesn't care when people try to spite him. He has taken his weight in psilocybin mushrooms and DMT. He sees through it all and just wants to talk to people and have conversations. I really don't believe it was awkward for him, maybe for the Rock, but that's because the Rock is a fake human all around.

I was excited because all of Joe's podcasts with former pro wrestlers are great. Did not see Rock being the worst one.
The Rock was there for damage control.
He was there because UFC and WWE merged, a favor for Dana, Joe's been having all the wrestlers on
I KNEW something was off. I was an hour in the podcast and felt my energy drain LOL

sub-90 IQ. congrats
I watched the first 40 mins.. I totally forgot about the racism & steroid thing… what got me the most is how lonely & zero human connectivity Dwayne has. They spoke of training for 3 hours with Gillis, Hinchcliffe.. etc.. Dwayne said he had never trained with anyone since his early wrestling days.. all those years & hours training.. alone? Very sad. I don’t think he has any friends.. so juiced up & Hollywood woke.. he is lost in the Hollywood sauce
The loneliness is what struck me as well. After wrestling, he was surrounded with fake Hollywood people and it’s now all he knows. Guy has no true friends to enjoy his fame with or even train with. It’s weird how a man who was able to connect with others so well in pro wrestling can no longer do that. It’s like 2 different people
The Joe Rogan Programme
I love The Rock and he’s been a huge inspiration for me since he was in the WWE, but that interview felt like Joe Rogan was a guest on The Rock’s podcast. He kept asking Joe questions the entire time.

Chael you're the man but how could you not have considered that Joe and Rock talked behind the scenes about all this lol? I believe Rock even mentions that they were texting back and forth beforehand about how Joe handles online criticism, so it seems they do at least have some outside private communication between each other.

Thank you
Chael hates/jealous of Joe - he throws out compliments here and there to try to hide it but he takes shots at Joe and tries to discredit him every chance he gets - like obviously they talked before the podcast and hashed out what to talk about and what not to talk about - acting like people can’t get over things and have to call people out no matter the circumstances
Such a good perspective, and probably right.
Doesn’t matter. They are both public figures. If they have beef online and dont address it online, to their audience any conversation they have will look disingenuous and fake.
And even if they did talk it out prior, their conversation felt fake as fk any way.

I watched it and i didn't know if it was a case of Joe just being high or something, because Joe actually talked literally non stop the first hour, rambling on with the Rock asking some questions here and there. And Duane was only asked just a few questions during the whole time, so yeah it definitely wasn't one of Rogan's best interviews. So basically it was a three-hour podcast with the Rock, with only a few minutes of anything about Duane's life, and that was usually when he would bring it up himself.
Oh so I'm not the only one to find it awkward
Joe was weird the whole podcast not as usual
Yeah im more critical of Joe not asking more questions and instead talking for the first 90 mins about ice baths lol
I was getting so frustrated. He wouldn’t let the rock tell his stories and the rock kept having to go back to his stories after 15 minutes of Joe. That also makes me feel like a lot of what the rock had to talk about was pre meditated from his team.
Rock would literally just repeat entire sentences Rogan said back to him and nod. Including phrases "i always said ..." so both Joe and Dwayne always said the exact same thing all the time. Obviously twinsies.
