Thank you I did this for my dad who has a Parkinson's in the hospital and he seemed blissed out and very much grateful for it. The hospital had him with the adjustable bed so that his trunk was up and his legs were down which is exactly the opposite of what is said in this video and it's logical about what he would need to remove this intense swelling from his feet and calves! I was able to secure him extra pillows to support his very stiff neck that was angled forward away from the existing single pillow and two pillows to put under his legs but I now realize they weren't enough
Wow! I learned so much about my health just now. Lol 😊 But with all seriousness....I couldn’t finish Army basic training because of this problem. I think the young healthcare professionals on base probably weren’t that knowledgeable in edema because they didn’t even know why my legs, ankles, and feet were retaining fluid. Plus...my grandma was recently diagnosed with pedal edema...my father has the same symptoms, so I know it’s hereditary. I now have a good question for my doctor. Thanks for your help.
How long will it take to recover if it is this kind of swelling? Coz, it's been 2 months and I don't see any improvement. Seen all the doctors and ortho, they have suggested an ankle binder and elevation of leg. But, if I elevate it's getting better, but once I put it down the swelling is back. ☹ Thanks.
I went out with a friend, who told me that my arms was swollen at first I thought it was fat, but as time went on I realized that the swollen face wasn't the only symptoms I saw. The ankles feet and legs got swollen. But with the help of Dr Iyhere everything went well.
I am James Osborn a 69 year old man, who was diagnosed with Edema although I have heard people speak of it. I never imagined that at this age it would be involved in my case. I met Dr Iyhere online on youtube, through the help of my son. After I took his drugs I have been relieved.
That is all done by the tape. Not recommended for a hair removal technique is it leaves just enough behind to remain painful after multiple applications and removals. ;)
Hi, I had this problem for months; I went through 2 examinations and the only thing they found wrong was high ALT levels (74); I was prescribed some diuretics but, after taking them for 2 months, the swelling is still here; I have to say I sit almost all day and I eat pasta every day; I would like to know if anyone has some advice; thanks.
You could have high insulin (fasting insulin serum). glucose in the body binds to water, high storages would attract more water and cause swelling. However, you don’t have to have high glucose in the blood test, it could be normal, check fasting insulin (9-10 hours of fasting before the test). It’s a typical insulin resistance symptom. For someone who eats high carbs (pasta, cookies, breads, muesli, grains, crackers, chips, cakes etc) and not moving much it’s very common.
@@rgasta7765 it's a blood test, which checks your insulin levels, you need to fast for it. Or stop eating pasta and switch to a better diet :) it may take months to get better though, so be patient and stick to healthy eating.
I HAVE TRIED PUTTING "VICKS" ON MY LEGS ALONG OF TWO HOUR ELEVATION AND THAT HELPS. AND BRINGING THE FLUID BACK TO THE MIDDLE OF THE BODY WHICH THEN YOU PEE IT OUT.
Everyone is different. I will tell you, I personally know someone who did end up losing both legs that suffered from edema. Chronic illness is preventable and mostly due to choices in lifestyle.
Helpful but, it IS annoying and distracting that you both seem to think that EVERY comment HAS to start with the word, "so"! That's a TERRIBLE habit that you, and thousands of others, should break as soon as possible!!
Thank you. My 36 year old son has ALS and now has edema. Your tips are helpful and I plan on using them to help improve his feet.

What's the underlying cause? Liver or kidney problems? Diet?
I've also heard that too much salt can be a culprit.

Do you remove some of his leg hair to save him pain from the tape, or does the tape pull his leg hair?
That is all done by the tape. Not recommended for a hair removal technique is it leaves just enough behind to remain painful after multiple applications and removals. ;)

What's a 411?
411 means 'information'.
Can leg edema eventually lead to an amputation?
