- Hey guys! I got a few comments on my last video about the raft pack I have so I thought I'd make a video about it and here it is! The alpacka packraft, this model is the Mule one of the bigger ones, I chose this one because of the loading capacity and the ability to sit two people in it! hope you enjoy!

Thanks for this ! It’s great to see that the mule is still maneuverable on moving water. The online description makes it sound like it’s only good for hunting, but this looks very versatile.
Thanks heaps.
My pleasure brother! I had such a good time doing this! :)
Wow. Great Video. Great Location. Beautiful pictures. Good work. Have fun
Thanks brother! :)
Great Video again! I stated already a few times that I love the way you are cutting your videos and the scenes your are doing with your drone is already close to IMAX movie formats. Keep on riding/rafting ! Looking forward to your multi day trips!
thank you so much! had a lot of trouble finding the words for multiday trips .. :P
Really loving these alpacka rafts and after watching your upload I’m even more certain about buying one and selling my sot
yeah, they are tons of fun! so versatile and it makes your outdoor life pretty much boundless!
Ted Weirum thanks for the reply, just a quick question how well do they track on calm waters 😳 I’m going to see if I can hire one for the day and see how I get on, currently got a sit on top which is really stable and tracks brilliantly, it’s not the fastest thing in the world But it does the job, I’m wanting to do a few camping / biking trips next year and paddle some rougher waters hence looking at these packrafts 😎
leeboymtb hey, sorry for the late reply, if it’s windy it’ll be kind of hard to keep it on track, it’s main purpose is for rivers and streams. I’ve seen people put small sails on them when crossing lakes so there’s some options out there, good luck!
Solid video again. Love the inflating/deflating capabilities. Gives you so many options. Looks like you and Albert are having a blast.
Thanks Jay, yeah we really did have a blast, can’t wait till the next adventure!
Thanks for taking the time to make this man! That's settled it. I'm getting the Mule.
Go get it! :) it’s awesome!
Thanks for your thoughts on the pack raft. I am looking at picking one up and I appreciate your input.
My pleasure friend! Hope
You’ll enjoy it! Thanks for watching!
thanks Im buying the mule now for sure its the best of all worlds
agreed, still love this thing! :)
Hi Ted & Albert, lots of farther and son adventures, The video is great must take time to setup Drone footage excellent. We both have expensive taste Same Camera /Drone/ and cali ATB Glen
thanks Glen! yeah the drone shot was tough, I almost drowned the remote and the battery was low.. all kinds of crazy at the same time! but that's what it's like when you want to film it and do it at the same time! : ) thanks for watching!!
Great video! Good job planing all the camera angles and ideal spots!
Really enjoyed it! Thanks
Thanks! :) glad you liked it!!
Hi Ted. Very interesting. I love the idea of taking a canoe with me on my campervan trips, but did not like the idea of having to put it on the roof. This is a great alternative. However, I have to wonder how long it will last if scraping against rocks during white water rafting .
To pump it up, I would use an electric pump plugged into the van - although of course the 'blow-up' bag can be useful if you carry it far from the camper.
The quality in this raft is great so I wouldn’t worry too much about scraping it, there’s also a repair kit that you get with the boat.. (should have showed that) :)
Great informative video, thanks for taking the time... I'm subscribed.
Welcome to the channel brother, I had such a good time doing this video so the pleasure is all mine!
Awesome vid 🎉
Thanks brother! :)
Nice job! That was a fun review. Some information and then adventure. Thanks for showing the spray skirt and the bow back. Did you get any of the dry bags that internal mount? I’d like to see those demonstrated also.
Thank, I had a lot of fun doing this one! Don’t have the internal storage bag option on this one I’m afraid!
Very cool video. Thanks for posting and sharing your adventures. I think if your going to keep doing white water runs , I would advise a brain bucket. Enjoy and be safe out there.
You’re right! I’ll get one for next time!
Really enjoyed the video!
Hey Patrick! I’m glad you did, I had a really good time that day!
awesome video! excited to get me a pack raft!
It will give you so much fun and versatility! Enjoy brother!
@@TedWeirum is that the removable cruiser deck, or the removable whitewater deck?
adam mandelin It’s the whitewater deck, great to have unless you like being wet :)
Great video. Your son was having a blast too! I came here looking for Alpacka Mule reviews and it was hard to find one, so it would be really helpful if you could add the word "Mule" into the video title for others to find it easier!
This is the Gnu if I’m not mistaken, but I’ll add it anyways! :)
@@TedWeirum oh, that's good to know. Because the thumbnail has the word mule in it :D
So I’m an idiot, just realized! Hahaha of course mule is the word!
IT IS a Nice Video and good Tour. Greetings ronactive
Glad you like it! :)
Great video Ted.. Is the canoe very stable. it looked as though it was.?
Thanks! Yes I have to say, of course it takes some getting used to but once you got the hang of it it’s super stable! Thanks for watching!
Do you wear sunscreen? If so which works best for you? I am outdoors all the time and cant find a good sunscreen for outdoor activities.
Hey Tom! I actually do not, I’m so happy to see the sun and be outside and it’s not so strong here in Sweden so there’s no point for me to use it! Also I wear the hat, it’s the best sun protection!
Nice video. Just a quick question. Is that the Classic Llama or a Mule? The Mule has a cargo hull and a more bulbous nose. That nose on your boat looks like a Classic. Thanks!
Thanks bro! This is actually the gnu! :)
@@TedWeirum Cool, thanks.
Aaahahahaa, riktigt sjysst video!
I’m not too much into rafting etc. but this looked seriously cool!
Would you say this packraft could serve a similar purpose to a regular canoe (with added benefit of easy to take with you in the car during holidays)?
Also, I’d love to have an idea where all the nice locations you visit are - perhaps I can include some of those in our family’s summer holidays in August :)
exactly right! it's also a lot more fun I'd say, you can paddle with this one in places where you would have to lift a canoe!
good point! ill see if I can show something like that on the live event.. still working on how to do it!!
I have the Alpaka Explorer 42 same reasons as in the video. Seats 2, fits in a backpack. But for larger family trips the Austrian company Grabner make some good white water 3 inflatables. Grabner.com
These are heavier but fit in a saloon car no problem. You can fit electric motors or sails to a lot of the Grabner range for use on lakes. I have the Adventure SL, which is perhaps too big. It will seat 4 adults plus gear though. Not a full white water raft either but neither am I that capable (yet!). Trekking or Outside models better suited for that. The catamaran looks fun too, also inflatable and saloon car friendly. Judging by your question I would suggest looking at the Grabner range. Selver the Swedish range are good to consider for their lower price and very gentle paddling, if you are going to use it very infrequently and in "still" water. Grabner and Alpacka are built tough, adventure ready, but at a price.
Thanks for watching and thanks for a great comment! :)
Also, I have to ask, how did you do the drone shots while you were canoing. Perhaps its a secret! It seems you either had someone else controlling the drone, or it wasn't you in the canoe! Great shots all the same.
Can you say where you were? Which river?
Great video I was wondering how the raft is holding up after a couple of years
I’m planning to take it out for a spin in a couple of weeks, my boss just borrowed it and he loved it so I’d say it’s still in good shape! :) it’s a premium quality packraft!
@@TedWeirum thank you very much glad to know it's top notch quality.
No worries mate!
Thank you a lot for this review. I was really considering buying a Alpacka, so it was nice with a good review. But one question, why was it that you didn't want the version with storage in the boat? Does it loose any performance from just having that?
Thanks for watching! When it comes to the storage I figured that if the things I carry with me won’t fit in my backpack without the boat they’re probably to big to carry anyways, for me it’s enough with the standard storage inside and above the deck, plus if one zipper brakes you’re pretty much done for, it’s easier to fix a hole! :) good question!
Breaking the zipper would also be my main concern, although it seems real heavy duty
I'm sure it is, the quality here is really good! I just don't need the extra storage! :)
Makes sense
Hi, is that an Alpacka Mule?
This is the gnu!
God I want a Mule. But I'd have no patience for that bag. I'd just get the foot pump.
icas80 it goes faster with the bag!
@@TedWeirum I just might have to buy one. They aint cheap but the fact I can load it up on the bike then load the bike on it.....endless opportunities fro random adventure :)
@@TedWeirum Is that the Kuiu camo?
Exactly! :)
This version is the fun and the color is ACU CAMMO
I can't find any site for this. Can you point me in the right direction.
www.alpackaraft.com/rafting/ here you go
😎♥️
tror du svarade på någons svar här mor men hej, vad som än funkar! ❤️😘💪🏼
thanks! yes! this is the site!
hope you found it!
Please wear a helmet when running whitewater.
You are correct! thank you, will do next time!
THIS IS NOT A MULE!! ITS A GNU- PLEASE CHANGE TITLE
Hey collin, I just checked the receipt, it says mule. How do you suggest we proceed? :)
The mule has a box nose, also, 7 months ago you replied saying it was a mule?
It’s says mule on the receipt, I think it is a mule!
Is it possible to sit 2 adults ? Thanks
You could, it would be very cosy if you know what I mean, it’s built for 1 person + small dog or child if you want to push it. I went in it with my son many times.
@@TedWeirum Thanks a lot for your quick reply; il would just be occasionaly...
