    Peak and holding the Q can damage the clutch. To the point it no longer disengages and becomes a direct drive siren. Also keeping it peaked is ineffective for warning as the high pitch doesn’t penetrate as well.

    Fire engine driver should have opened the fecking door first thing, not start engine and then wait for the fecking door to open,, here in the UK it's Fire house Doors first, then get in engine and start up, makes a few seconds count whilst door is opening and crew getting in and setting out, it would be easy to install a smack button to strike to open doors as he gets to his engine / fire truck

    • @brianog5267

    There's absolutely NO REASON to wind up a Q when there's NO traffic in front of you. You need to be able to hear radio traffic, and communicate with your crew, not to mention, over time, you'll loose hearing from that. Use it as NEEDED. And yes, you can burn out a Q motor.

    • @maxhallman1036

    • @megagames3605

      ffjsb So what? I could clearly hear the radio and they probably have it in their headsets too. If they get in a crash and they had no Q, it could be their fault. Better to be safe than sorry.

    • @ffjsb
      @ffjsb 4 роки тому +2

      @@megagames3605 They have an electronic siren. At NO TIME is it going to be "their fault" just because they don't have a Q. There are thousands of fire apparatus that don't have a Q, so that's just a ludicrous statement. Responsible defensive driving is ALWAYS the answer, regardless of what kind of siren you have.
