Hi guys that was the Ringside tour 2003 , the song When the War is over, released 1982, the guitarist Ian Moss another rabbit-hole great musician , haven't heard anything about demonetization as it is a live show and its been on UA-cam a lot , the band plays whats called Australian pub rock ,rock , blues, ballads etc in the 70s music wasn't classified into types of rock as much as it is now. I think you would enjoy Chisel's music generally, still think Bow River and Wild Thing have a great day. Cheers
There is so many sides to Jimmy Barnes in his almost 50 year career from when he fronted Cold Chisel to his solo career singing with many of the greats Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, INXS and Joe Bonamassa. There are so many songs but Bow River is just mesmerising and Cold Chisels cover of Wild Thing from their Last Stand tour is the best live performance lve ever seen.
Cold Chisel - Wild Thing (Live) [last stand concert] on the Glenn Thomas YT account is an absolute must.👍 Jimmy goes right off 😁 ...and of course Bow River, as others have requested. The band has an extensive catalogue of original songs... and some great live covers to boot with tracks such as 'Georgia (On My Mind)' 'Long As I Can See The Light', 'Let's Go Get Stoned' and more. Cheers Lassies... ["Buuurp! Fart!"]... ooh pardon 😳
There is a cover of this song by John Farnham that blows this out of the water, also from this concert there is a song called Bow River which is very worth watching.
I feel there's an equivalence (kinda) with Queen. Jimmy made Chisel. He was the superstar. But Mossy, Preswitch, Walker... Queen probably leant more on Freddie, but without them he was just an (objectively) average singer.
Wrong. Grew up with Cold Chisel back when they started in Pubs. Jimmy was the focal point like all lead singers. Mossy was his equal and opposite. You don’t have a clue mate.
Awesome reaction video ladies. As someone who went to their first ever Chisel concerts back in the early 80s, it's so great to see the rest of the world finally catching up with some of the best Aussie talent. If you want to try sum up the Evolution of Jimmy's career (if that is even possible to do) I would look at Cold Chisel - Wild Thing (Last Stand). Even though this is a cover version and not a Chisel song it gives an insite to what Chisel was like as a band during the 70's & early 80's (this was filmed in '83 at their "Farewell Tour"). Then maybe Jump forward to Jimmy's solo career and Watch "When Something is wrong with my baby" that he recorded in about '91 (with John Farnham & we all know what you think of him lol) Then to round it off, look at "Jimmy Barnes - Stone Cold (feat. Joe Bonamassa) (Official Video)" recorded in about 2014 to see how a fine wine really matures. Keep up the good work guys & continue to enjoy yourself.
We actually did do a reaction to Jimmy & John “When something is wrong with my baby” It’s on my channel 😊 I have some of those others on my list so I’ll definitely being doing more Barnsey reactions! ❤️
Damn so nostalgic! Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham are the voices of Australia. I remember Christmas summer holidays at holiday parks while bbqs are going and people blasting Aussie barstool rock/Jimmy barnes as a kid in the 90s. Absolute heavenly memories.
This is a slowed down version of the song. It's off their Circus Animals album which incidentally is on my phone's playlist. Coming back from Canberra the other day it came on (the whole Circus Animals album) and it made the drive so much better when songs like Taipan, Letter To Allan, The Wild Colonial Boy.....bugger...the whole fricking album! was cranked up loud! Made the section between Holbrook and Albury seem to go very quick!
Amazing song and performance. Jimmy is one of my favourite vocalists is voice is so unique and powerful. Should check out “bow river” from this same gig it’s a must
An overwhelming number of you wanted us to react Jimmy Barnes with his band Cold Chisel, the song “When the war is over”. We finally did! 😁 ANOTHER phenomenal suggestion by all of you! Also, music reactions such as this one, often get DEMONETIZED so if you love what we do & would like to help out our channel, there’s a Super Thanks option there for you on many of our videos. It’s a way to sort of tip us, especially for demonized videos. Absolutely no pressure, but the option is there 😊 Y’all are the 💩 ❤️
A lot of people find Jimmy first then go back to cold chisel...it's not just Jimmy's band, they're all amazing and without chisel there wouldn't be a Jimmy Barnes. Ian Moss is a bloody legend and Don Walker is an amazing songwriter. Check out cold chisel Georgia to see Mossy at his best and Wild thing to see how tight this band was. Early on Jimmy would be so wasted on stage the band never knew what he was going to do
@@peterdubois65 Thank you for the song suggestions for Cold Chisel. I’ll add those to my list 😊 I don’t doubt that Ian Moss is a legend. He’s amazing too!
Ty ladies for delving into Cold Chisel, they have been and still are an authentic Australian Pub Rock/ Blues band from way back in the 80's. Now you have dipped your toes into them I suggest HIGHLY viewing "Bow River" (from the same Ringside Concert 2003) or 2 all time favourite's of mine "Breakfast at Sweethearts" or "Forever Now". The band may have lost a couple of their original members RIP Steve Prestwich (writer drummer genius and gentleman) they broke up & reformed a few times but have always remained friends, all members of the band have contributed great songs over the years but Ian Moss on guitar and Jimmy have remained the driving force behind their success here and overseas. Some will throw in tier own favourite songs but for me they can play the phone book and make it sound awesome, they remain one of my all time favourite live bands ever. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
They are hands down Australia's greatest rock band. I first saw Cold Chisel perform in Adelaide in 1978 and have been a fan ever since (I wore out my original vinyl and cassettes and thankfully the CDs have stood the test of time). There aren't many bands where all the members write great songs or many bands who can deliver everything from superb ballads to blistering rock. The USA missed them in their prime thanks to smug record label executives (Jimmy wrote "You've Got Nothing I Want" in response to the treatment they received).
Yes an Ian Moss vocal ( guitar)… he has a fantastic voice and makes Cold Chisel unique by having two great singers…. This song written by Steve Prestwich ( Drums)… shaker on this …. Plenty more cold Chisel to discover + Jimmy Barnes solo, and Ian Moss solo….keep enjoying great Australian music.
Thanks for your reaction to a great song. Don't try to make everybody happy, just keep doing it your way and the people that enjoy it (like myself) will stick around. Cheers girls
Others have identified Mossy for you so here’s another one. The shaker guy that Savannah joined in with 😏 is Steve Prestwich, Chisels drummer and the author of this particular song. Each of the band members wrote hits for Chisel. This one was one of Steve’s, who, after Chisel broke up, spent some time playing with Little River Band with John Farnham. And that ladies, is how this same song became one of John’s more popular requests as well. I’m sure there’ll be mention of it somewhere in these comments 😁
G'day crazy ladies ( last videos bloopers changed my greeting), this was a nice mellow one, I enjoyed it very much .still had a laugh with Savannahs Bob Sagget comparison. John Farnham does a stellar version of this song, well worth checking out. Cold chisel bow River is sure to get your blood pumping if you care to check that out. Thanks as always poopies
Two songs now to give you a grasp of his range now that you have seen him towards his top. Marcia Hines and Jimmy Barnes singing Fire and Rain. It is awesome and you will not be disappointed. Also for one of those real heart felt songs, Jimmy Barnes and David Campbell (his son) singing You'll Never Walk Alone at the carols by candelight. Jimmy and David have a warm moment during the song. If you know the history between them then you might swear someone is cutting onions nearby.
Chisle song to look out for is Bow River, frame Trees, 4 Walls, Kea Shan, water into Wine, things I love in you, breakfast at sweethearts, you got Nothing I want.

In the early Chisel stuff Jimmy sings very clean and powerfully. Nowadays, as an older gent, he doesn't really have that smooth clean mid-range anymore. But his screams can still be extremely tuneful, as you can hear in his live cover of Sia's 'Chandelier'
