- I've been using the #Radiomaster #Boxer for just about a year now, after all the hype in the FPV community, does it hold up? Is it as good as the reviewers said back then? Do I still use it?
Thanks for the year later advice! Well received my friend. I've been looking at this for about a year now and it might just be time to spring for it.
Great video. Nice voice. Very pro sounding.
I'm subb'n ya bro
I have been running the TX16s but now I’m slowly adding all of my new aircraft to the Boxer ELRS. This is definitely a good radio
Really liking your content!
Sold on this , was on the the fence between the pocket or boxer and I think I’d rather go this route great vid! 🔥
I have two boxers and love them. Folding antenna and a kickstand, and it would be perfect. I do a lot of cad work, but I honestly just cut the inner set of rings for the gimbal cover out. Those are my favorite stick ends
A nice done long term review. Would have liked to hear a bit more on how would like to see on a v2 upgraded. Front switches, antenna, and strap were mentioned as weak points. Personally, I'd like to see flatter toggle switch (so won't catch of stuff and get broken). The foldable antenna design like on the Pocket, (or Zorro) seems a bit better for storage.
Qx7 = "Unbelievable discomfort"
Dam, that's my only experience with a radio, I'm flying in discomfort and I didn't even know... 😞
Great insight video thanks for the hindsight 🙏🏽
Oddly enough the longest running piece of hardware in my kit is the Taranis qx7, I think it is about 6 or 7 years old. Thinking about switching to the boxer though.
Making me want to get one 😂
I have had a QX7 for donkey's years and then just recently bought a Boxer. I fly quads, heli's & fixed wing. I like both of these radios. Only complaint with the Boxer is ideally for fixed wing/heli it needs another 3 position switch. I do like its smaller size but I still love the retro feel of the QX7.
Ahh, ok so I have the QX7... and im looking at other radios too.
QX7 is BiG. No experience with other radios really.
Boxer is Mid sized.
But what about a game style radio?
too small?
FPV problems :)
@@nebastion Game style radios seem good for FPV but usually lack trims & enough switches for fixed wing & heli's. I am really liking the boxer. It is the middle ground between a T16S and a Pocket or Zorro.
@@TakeItToTheGround Thanks for the input.
Aha... I hadn't thought of the trims...
Switches... I only need one: ARM 💪
But good to note ;)
Thanks again.
Take care pilot
@@nebastion Actually I think both of the examples I gave have trims.😁
nah those buttons I use for my disarm and prearm, love my boxer shoulder buttons!
most people do, lol.I just can't move my hands to those spots for arm/disarm. I have no real excuse, I do use the locking latch one for video on however :)
Hi, have you ever used the Jumper T20. Was considering that one, but this boxer looks good too.
Do you know if the boxer is forward programming capable? file should be under tools . i hope you can confirm using your radio.tks
The internal fan stared to make noise after a month or two, was really loud suddenly, like bad bearings, got a new fan under warranty, yet, that one also started to make noise, but i not as much as the previous fan, so wont change it for now
Great video! Specially on the Ghost part. I am planing on buying this as my first full size radio, since I bought the orqa back on the pandemic. However, I read that the ghost module is not a snug fit. Would you agree? Also, subscribed! Your content is great!
I found the ghost module in my boxer to be overly snug the first few times I put it in, I had to push on it pretty hard to get it in o.o
which one do u recommend boxer or pocket ?
Do you have a link to the grip tapes?
I also upgraded from TX12 to a Boxer and I just love it.
These are what I used, but I had to cut them to fit. Took some time but I just watched youtube while doing it so it wasn't that bad amzn.to/3HbNUyI
how much better did you like the boxer over the tx12? im in the racing scene and currently thinking about making the switch
@@EB_FPV7333 I’m a male on his thirties with average sized hands. Boxer was released a few months after I purchased the TX12, so it wasn’t an option back then. The TX12 feels a bit like a toy, but I think they use the same materials, Boxer feels much more solid.
The gimbals in the Boxer are full sized V4 Hall gimbals and they feel awesome.
If you have at least average sized hands, buy it! You won’t be disappointed!
I bought a pocket antenna and intend to do some dremel work at some point to fit it to the boxer. But I am lazy too lol.
too many projects of mine are in that exact same situation right now, lol
No way there is OG stl model for the gimbal protectors on boxer? Can I buy that one? Only found the tx16 models and stick ends wont fit into original boxer protector. Thank you!!
here's the modified version, feel free to take my name off, lol www.tinkercad.com/things/cgfngSyzB0V-gimbal-guard
@@Mayday.Aerialpage is missing 😢
@@RWaarden oh no! I need to check that when I get back home this weekend!
I've had my Radiomaster boxer ELRS for about 6 months now 😁 seems like very nice radio. Got the clear one and LED rings for gimbels. Looks very cool. I still haven't gotten the drone working 😢 my first DIY 😁 acually i have built 2. A 5" and 7". Got betafpv SuperD module for 7" and darwin F7 cement stack. Controller connects to both but cant get them to work ☹️ 5" is a speedybee master 5 v2 with f405 v4 stack and RP3 receiver. I killed the f7 with a bad flash or soldier or something. Has not been a good experience so far. 2 dji 03 units and integra goggles and all 🤯 $$. I just get out the DJI mini 3 pro if i really want to fly. Tried to contact local hobby shop and they were complete **sholes. I will figure it out someday.... Still trying 😁
Can you release the modified gimbal protector?
this is what I used :) www.printables.com/model/664897-radiomaster-boxer-gimbal-protection
what do you use as the stick ends ?
Five33 Standard Ripsticks :) flyfive33.com/collections/ripsticks/products/five33-rip-sticks-standard
