    If blizzard does a Starcraft 3 I think that focusing on the UED and introducing some new alien factions could work.

      xLetalis yeah, overall Stukov was the backbone of the UED. I wish he had a bigger role in StarCraft II but I know he would outshine a lot of other characters he deserves his own game to shine.
      Maybe if a StarCraft 3 or a DLC happened then we can have him back.

    This is a great video. Thanks for reminding me of my childhood.
    You can really feel either Duran using mind tricks on DuGaulle and Stukov but Stukov is much more resistant or wiser: how can the Psi Disrupter be used as a weapon if it's only meant to knock out Zerg who are an unrelated party/enemy? That is like having bug repellant as a weapon.

    • @Frosty14748
      @Frosty14748 7 років тому +10

      * How can the Psi Disrupter be used as a weapon if it's only meant to knock out Zerg who are an unrelated party/enemy? That is like having bug repellant as a weapon.*
      **WARNING! DISORGANIZED RAMBLING BELOW FROM A MINOR LORE NERD! MAY CONTAIN MANY TYPOS AS EVERYTHING WAS WRITTEN OUT OF CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER!*
      Because Duran was convincing DuGalle that he was going to use the Psi-Disruptor to disable their link with the second Overmind! **The whole point of the UED mission was to reconquer the wayward Terran colonies and mind control the new, immature second Overmind.** With Kerrigan out of the way(though IIRC the UED didn't really know about her existence), the UED would have billions of Zerg under it's control as well as a very technologically advanced human military. With those 2 major advantages, the Protoss on Shakuras would probably be overrun eventually, as with the technology, production ability, and population in tandem with the untold numbers of Zerg under their control the Protoss would just be utterly engulfed by eternal hordes of UED humans and UED controlled Zerg.
      The few hundred million Protoss remaining on Shakuras could be outnumbered roughly 300-1 by the UED humans alone, assuming the UED could travel more quickly than nine months to reinforce the Korprulu sector with more humans. Now add perhaps several hundred billion Zerg that are all loyal to the UED(though in the campaign their control over the Zerg is initially incredibly limited, I think in the future they'd get much better at controlling the Zerg) , and humanity could become the ultimate species in the galaxy. Especially if they do what they did in-lore and aggressively reverse engineer Protoss technology. Thing is, most things Protoss as technology use their incredible psionic powers such as powering their teleportation technology, and humanity was only beginning to grasp it's potential as a psionic species.
      Back on topic! The Psi-Disruptor could be used to disable Kerrigan's connection with her Zerg broods(which is what happened in the story), but **perhaps DuGalle was paranoid and got convinced Stukov was going to use the Psi-Disruptor to disable the ability for them to control their own Zerg!** After all, Duran even did state that Stukov was going to sabotage the mission, although Duran's lie was obviously incorrect in hindsight. But that's one of the reasons DuGalle and Duran wanted to destroy the Psi-Disruptor!
      Imagine if Mengsk or Raynor or some wayward Protoss got their grubby hands on the Disruptor and wanted to use it against the UED! For as long as they can hold the Psi-Disruptor, **the UED-controlled Zerg would become feral and attack anyone or anything!** If a powerful Cerebrate or something knew about this, this new Cerebrate could wrangle up many of these feral Zerg, so now they have a hivemind ruler again that isn't the UED! The Zerg become an organized threat again under this Cerebrate or whatever, and since the mind-controlled Zerg were used in cooperation with human soldiers, so many humans, other still-feral zerg, and Protoss would all die horribly!
      *EDIT: In case I wasn't clear, I think the decision to keep the Psi-Disruptor online would be VASTLY more useful than destroying such a powerful utility! It's the best chance to defeat the Zerg after they learned about Kerrigan and her existence, as Stukov and DuGalle both said! Without the Disruptor weakening the Zerg, I doubt the UED would ever be able to even capture the second Overmind in the first place! I was just providing justifications for the characters and their actions!*

    As Stukov said in Starcraft 2 UED will return one day, this was just expeditionary fleet, when they return they will come with much bigger numbers

      I don't know much lore wise, but, assuming the UED fleet was destroyed and their by the UEDs own admission best commander failing, they likely gave up hope of regaining control of the sector. Further they also probably considered the expenditure of further resources on reclamation of the sector as ultimately pointless given they view it as a "wasteland" and wanted likely to avoid further costly losses ultimately leading to their best outcome being a phyric victory. Just my two cents :)

    • @HolyknightVader999

      They could be gathering resources for another attack, or perhaps they're contemplating opening trade with the sector.

      Knowing blizzard poor ass writing,blizzard will make same stunt again where UED comes in huge force(lots of cheap drama) and everyone united to take U.E.D down.
      Brood war is best thing they wrote and replicating it would be pointless.
      That of course if Blizzard ever decide to continue StarCraft.

      They never forgot about the Korprulu, from what i've learned the Expiditionary Fleet that was sent in the brood wars, was merely that, an expeditionary fleet, not the 'combined might' of the UED, as Stukov said, they 'represent' the combined might UED, they are not the combined might of the UED.
      What i believe happened in SC2 is that on Earth, they saw the defeat of their best admiral and fleet as a setback and a loss of resources. If they were to send another expedition, it would have to be even 'stronger' than what Dugalle had, and be able to accomplish more. Essentially they'd have to send twice or even 3x what Dugalle was sent with, and that probably isn't cheap... so if they do return they would have to do so with a 'will to conquer' the sector, and as Stukov said in sc2, they will return eventually... its only a matter of time and how much willpower the UED Council has in it to see that the job gets done the second time.

    • @xLetalis

      well they're both fairly civilized :)

    • @averagefanenjoyer8696

      Not as much to gain? The Protoss aren't imperialistic and don't really interfere with terran affairs unless there's a direct threat to themselves.
      Also, I'd imagine that terrans are still kind of scared of protoss and their insane technology. Fighting Protoss when not necessary isn't something I'd imagine many terran leaders would want to do

    • @HolyknightVader999

    • @TevyaSmolka
      @TevyaSmolka 7 років тому +5

      Given that all of the UED forces were wiped our i think for lore and continuity purposes we can assumed that he was killed with the rest of the UED forces under Admiral Dugalle

    • @HolyknightVader999
      @HolyknightVader999 7 років тому +1

      Not all of the UED forces died. Some made a living as mercenaries that you can hire in SC2.
