    I cannot believe i finished this game 2 years ago. Really, i don't feel like that. I feel like I am still in Revachol picking up old stuff and bottles, running to the little church through the sleet and crying over the vision of revolutionaries shot at the wall. I don't know what has to happen to me to make me forget this game.

    The arthropods are in silent and meaningless awe of you. Know that we are watching- when you’re tired, when the vision spins out of control. The insects will be looking on. Rooting for you. And when you fall we will come to raise you up, bud from you, banner-like, blossom from you and carry you apart in a sky funeral. In honour of your passing.

    I grew up playing games... they are undeniably a part of who I am. Disco Elysium might have been one of the single biggest influences on my life. Anyways, the writers of this game deserve the Nobel prize.

      Same here. It's easily one of the best experiences a videogame could provide to the average person. It's humorous, critical, dark, thought-provoking and creative from head to toe. The way people feel astounded by a really good film, book, television show etc... I firmly believe Disco Elysium is the one game that could get most people feeling similarly. Its imagery is unlike any other. It's so confident and assured of itself in its existential, political and social commentaries. I've honestly never experienced anything as well-crafted as the world and people of Revachol. You know how people say something along the lines of there being a whole world between the pages of a book? That's how I feel about this game.

    • @senhorengenheiro
      @senhorengenheiro 7 місяців тому +1

      Nobel is a bit too much. Let them make 4-5 more like this and sure, but a single work doesn't deserve it.

    • @JL32506
      @JL32506 4 місяці тому

      @@senhorengenheiro I don't really agree with that. If we begin believing that impact = quantity, then we've lost the plot, no? There are many, many people that have only given a single defining piece of art or science and gained a prize for it. That said, video games tend to get ignored in that equation, and I think that's unfortunate.

    • @senhorengenheiro
      @senhorengenheiro 4 місяці тому +1

    Bladerunner, George Orwell's 1984, Disco Eylsium... all of these works share this common demeanor of being a wage slave in a dystopian world - living to function, scarred by hopelessness and confusion without hope for improvement. Oftentimes when I wake up to the everyday work grind I do feel this cold heavinesses of Revachol.

    'Be Vigilant, We Loved You...' Like an echo of who we once were, calling out to the now, that as dark as the world becomes, the light within can be bright enough, never to banish or dismiss outright, but enough to carry it forward. It is our sacred charge whether we know it or not, to kindle the fire, and to with every measure of our will to guard it against the darkness. We must never forsake it entirely, we must never let it go out...
