Wow.... such a beautiful guitar.. the thickness of the maple top is awesome.... and it sounds beyond great. Congrats to all who help build it, and to those who are fortunate enough to get their hands on one.
Great watch and incredible playing! The placement of the bridge pickup volume knob near the hand is a clever touch; I wonder how quickly I’d adapt to it. 😅 The moons add a lovely detail as well and the beautiful finish shows such thoughtful design and craftsmanship. Well done, PRS!
I’m with you on the gen 2 bridge, man. My main custom 24 for the last 20 years has a gen 2 bridge and it’s just 🤤 PRS has made some nice strides over the years…trimmed some weight off the guitars, improved various ergonomics here and there but for my money, a rotary switch custom 24 with a pattern neck profile and HFS/Vintage Bass is STILL the holy of holies. I can play anything on one of those guitars for hours at a time, it’ll respond exactly how I want and it’ll sound exactly how I need it to sound. For some guys, “that guitar” is a Tele…for others it’s a Strat or a Les Paul…for me, it’s been a custom 24 since I was a high school senior. Once you find your thing, it’s always there for you.
If you're not 1 of the 200 fortunate ones, just get the special semi-hollow. It can't be that far off. Anyway I dig it as a player (not investor), but not sure as a DGT and McCarty soapbar owner if I would use 2 very similar instruments. One would compete with the other.
Why only 200 of them? These will all sell out really fast and be resold on the secondary market for $10k plus, most folks will never have a shot at buying one of these at anywhere close to retail. Shame.
I noticed in a section of David's playing, when he's resting/ not playing any notes, his left hand is moving back and forth on the neck...I wonder if that's just something he does, or if there is intent behind it? It doesn't look bad, I just noticed that he was doing it...regardless, thanks for the video, PRS, hope David, and all at PRS and yours are doing well.
Anyone who can’t possibly afford this guitar - just don’t be afraid to look at older custom 22s. Late 90’s early 2000’s… just check one out you may be surprised
Another amazing guitar from PRS! Anyone know the value on the treble bleed cap for this guitar? I find the stock cap to not be as snappy as this in the PRSi I have.
I wouldn't see any harm in there being a production core model that would be more accessible. It would be a shame for this guitar to not reach a wider audience.
yeah well you better make 6 figures and be a pretentious ass that's who this guitar is for. because it's not for actual human musicians with a human musicians budget.
Sounds very good. Bit dark though. But can anyone afford these any more? Pandemic lockdown money is well and truly spent. Housing and rent is through the roof. But I guess they make so few of these that they are all pre sold.
It’s no different than the hollow body 11 and that has a piazza too but if you want that Austin Texas chicken picking grit sound buy one but do buy a private stock model like David did then you know you have high class PRS Quality
Hell of a player but a bit of a no-namer. I'm always surprised at how much they've put into DGT line. Amp, SE, Core, now a high-end model. Paul must put a lot of stock into their friendship and longevity of the relationship.
I think what it is - is that Paul loves David Grissom - like in an emotional way. I think in some sense he kind of wishes he was David Grissom. But that’s OK, I like the guitar and I think it’s a good guitar - but I could do a little bit without some of the preciousness. I mean, people can work on pickups for many years. It doesn’t have to be like a religious thing. I mean Bill Carson helped Leo fender. I think he kind of sees him as his Bill Carson.
@@papa_pt I saw him play with the Allman Brothers like maybe 25 years ago when Dickie Betts got in a fight and like miss some gigs. I remember the PRS he was playing thinking like wow this guy is really good at the Allman Brothers stuff. that’s his style just kind of like you know Dwayne Allman with a little bit of his own you know his own kind of twist on it. I think he’s basically like a good professional sideman. He’s good but he backs up a singer.
Yeah yeah yeah...limited run is just an excuse to charge an extra $1,000 for an F hole, an extra $1,000 for red lacquer on the headstock, and an extra $1,000 for the "limited run", or, how to charge $9,000 for a $5,000 guitar...ya can't fix stupid, with that "extra" 3 grand ya don't have to spend for just cosmetic bling you could buy another real nice guitar or amp or whatever. Few people dumber than guitar "collectors" with more money than brains.
overpriced and limited to only 200 units.. that's the hallmark of a company that truly cares about music and musicians 🙄 why put instruments in the hands of actual human beings when you can instead produce an expensive piece of wall-art to be collected by dentists and lawyers? excited to see PRS going after the old, stuffy, pretentious market that had been previously cornered by Gibson.
I just pre-ordered one...I'm an engineer. I will play it with a smile on my face! It won't gather much dust in my home...I do wish it had birds though. :-(
Yay! Now we just have to wait 30 years to get the SE version!
Nothing in comparison to the 80 years I'll have to wait for a lefty version lmao
@@igotpesos_ I'm a lefty too! But I found it easier to learn on "righty" guitars!

I love how it has moons and regular sized tuning buttons.
Exactly my thought ! So cool
David is one of the best! The DGT is one of the best guitars out there, sophisticated and versatile! Amazing release, congrats! ❤

Awesome guitar, DGT as always, amazing player...would love to have one
I got a LTD semi-hollow custom 22 in 2010 and love it. A semi-hollow PRS is amazing.
Darn. I feel my old GAS kicking up again…
Nicely done, Paul and David
Dang!!! I have a 1998 McCarty. I freaking love it! This new DGT Semi-Hollow looks and sound fantastic. Oh man!
I’m with you on the gen 2 bridge, man. My main custom 24 for the last 20 years has a gen 2 bridge and it’s just 🤤

Gorgeous! I saw this on David's latest live stream and it sounded superb! 😎 Please consider doing an SE model too.
“I’m partial to moons”. Thank you David! It is so much better for it.
Not a fan of the bird inlays?
We need the S2 DGT 😁
Looks and sounds great.
Gorgeous guitar 🎉
I just ordered one from Sweetwater...#24 from them. Get them while they are hot! 🙂

I really hope I can get one in the future ❤
Well, that is going to be expensive as balls
🤣
That's why you came equipped with two kidneys. 😆
@@stuartkinzel8195 Already used one on my semi hollow special :/
It's $6.5k on sweetwater. So, it is. I only see diehard DGT fans getting it.
@@jesusisking33ad PRS are sweet, but expensive as hell and marketed to old fart sniffers with cash.
SE version please!
Looking forward to the SE version. Hint, hint…
Oh YES!! Perfect match for my WL DGT maybe another run for the 40th ..you know these are going to be gone in days
DGT… damn good tone
Love my DGT goldtop, just not a 'burst guy. But if they do a run in goldtop or blonde, count me in!
Damn…I love my Core DGT…may have to buy this also…😊
Do it...I did (#24 on Sweetwater). I can't wait until December (projected delivery)!
Very cool guitar.
An SE version in Dark Cherryburst would be nice, David. Make it happen Son !!
SE? (of course)
Love it, but the Moons lol, David why?!

why do you think?? ffs

They need to make these in SE they know people gone want these guitars

No worries there will be an SE version within a year.
Well it won’t be the same though will it you will always have to live with 2nd best
When is a LTD Santana coming out? My guess is PRS 50th year anniversary. Just 10 more years.
They did a short PS run of Semi Santanas..I have one ..
@@jamestonguet1737 yeah just searched it up. Now those cost an arm and a leg
Those darn Texans can play!

i find the DTG kind of dark but it has its sound
Nice
Insert the 'I WANT THAT' Napoleon Dynamite GIF...
I need Bradford to tell me what jean jacket Mr. DGT is wearing...

un demo en español por favor
What about a left handed version of?
What I'd give to have one of those
2:12 what song is that? (The backtrack) is it a ZZ top song?
The S2 version is next

SE!!!!!! TAKE MY MONEY
They should have matched the headstock to the body. Just sayin’ for the money.
