- This standard yet effective CDC midge pupa, can be tied in various colour combinations and sizes. Red, grey and brown being some of the favourite. The larger sizes are best for still waters and if you omit the tail and tie it in small sizes its really effective on smaller fast flowing streams. Don't underestimate this pattern, it's a fish catcher...

Hands down, your filming techniques are the best, which make your videos more instructive. Thanks for taking the care to do them so well!
I appreciate that!
My midge box went AWOL! This pattern is definitely going to take up a good section of the new one. Thanks, Barry.
Thanks James.

Very elegant indeed for a wee midge have you ever heard of the knt midge it’s a Swedish pattern but again very elegant and looks simple enough I can’t seem to find much info on it tho but this is a nice dressing thanks for another great pattern for the box
Hi Tyler, thanks. No I don't know any Swedish pattern that goes by that name but Knott, in Swedish means midge! I'll see if I can find out more...
Hot fly!
Thank you.
Super🤘
Thank you 😀
I believe this is a variation of a pattern featured in your book «Fluebinderens bibel» some years ago. Amazing pattern, it has provided me with the bulk of my midge pupas over the years. (And a lot of great experiences, thank you!) The abdomen of the pattern featured in your book was black, and I that left me wondering whether you have any preferences when it comes to colour variatons? Or if you might be willing to share some experiences concerning differences in colour? (As always, a brilliant video Barry!)
Thats correct Thomas. I have a up-dated version of both bibles books plus about 15 new patterns all with video links, that will be published in Norwegian in March 23. The colour I believe is not so significant on such small patterns as this. When they get wet they become dark anyway. But I use black, olive and red as a rule...
Thats great news! Where can the bibles be purchased?
