Ok, good on you mr. Howard, will do. But first tell us, did you have goosebumps...a Beatle was coming by!? Who has made you a bit, nervous or excited?🦜🌴👀
Ringo looks fabulous for his age
Being rich helps.
Being RICHard too

Nothing against Ringo, I am a huge Beatles fan. Ringo was set for life in his 20s. He earned it but the average person has to work until 65+ and often at a stressful or physical job.
It makes people age faster.
yeah, it's hard to believe that he's nearly 80 and he doesn't bloody well look it!
He looks like Castro
Ringo was smart. He knew there was something going on with the Beatles.
hohaia rangi he knew they were the most popular band in Liverpool, but initially he was going to join another local band called Kingsize Taylor And The Dominoes for £20 a week, he only joined The Beatles coz they offered him an extra £5
And the Beatles were smart in choosing Ringo.
Soapandwater6
I don't think that was the case.
It seems The Beatles had always planned to ditch Pete at some point.
Furthermore, they seemed willing to take anybody since Brian Epstein initially asked Johnny Hutchinson of The Big 3 and Ritchie Galvin of Earl Preston And The TT's (and probably others) if they would join The Beatles, but they declined for various reasons.
Ringo wasn't their first choice but it seems he was the only person who said yes
Millions knew why was he smart
He was smart for realizing the Obvious. That he was sitting in with a much better band.
People dump on Ringo, but he's got that quirky little signature beat he does - I don't think they really would have been the same band without him. Pete was ok-ish.. but really Ringo was the better choice.
Any drummer that knows anything will tell you he has one of the most identifiable "feels" of all time. And he was one of the first guys to play the backbeat on a big record. Unquestionably the most influential drummer in pop music.
Someone once described his drumming as sounding like he’s falling down the stairs (in a good way) I am brought to mind of SHE SAID
@The Internet Killed Music - His writing?
@@robertkennedy9188 - I know what you mean and that's why Ringo's drumming is special. It commands your attention because it's unique and always interesting and most of all spot on.
I've heard it said that when Paul McCartney did drumming he basically imitated Ringo.
Ringo Starr, 78 and still going strong! 😁✌️✌️
“I just loved John, George and Paul.” 💕 0:32
One thing seems certain about Ringo. He seems totally real and believable. He seems to be an honest soul.
The feeling was mutual. I remember hearing Paul talk about one of the early shows where Ringo hadn't officially joined yet (sitting in) and Paul would look over to George and John and just sort of nod "this is the sound we want, this is what we want to be" was the mutual feeling. They wanted him in the group as bad as he wanted to be in it.
Peace and Love
... but no more autographs!!!
❤💙💚💜😇😘😛💛💝👧🐘
The guy has been sincere his whole life. And going back to the earliest Beatle's interviews, he has shown an amazingly quick wit, and a sharp sense of humor which indicates intelligence far beyond what many unobservant people have assumed about him. All four were really bright individuals.
I have been a Beatles and therefore a Ringo fan since the Sullivan show appearance. From all that I have seen and read about Ringo I have come to believe that he is a very good person. A nice guy who was always respected by everyone that knew him. No one has anything bad to say about him. That says a lot about someone. Especially in his business.
Paul Max Absolutely, well said! And same, been a fan since their first appearance on Ed Sullivan in Feb. 1964 when I was 7...and agree have never heard a bad thing about Ringo, ever.. In fact he was the glue that kept them together for a little while longer towards the very end when the other 3 were fighting. Ringo always managed to get along with everyone. Great guy all around from everything I've ever seen or heard.
You love the Beatles and we love you!!!
Ringo Starr is in my opinion the coolest beatle.
and john lennon is the sarcastic Beatle
Howard: "I had two Beatles on my show, Dad, guess I'm not such a moron anymore, huh?"
"Anyone could take your job, the receptionist could walk in and do the same job, you moron."
I don't get the reference, could someone explain it to me?
Technically, he's had three Beatles on the show, because he has also interviewed Pete Best.
No worries son, you'll always be a moron to me- you meathead!
"I'll be impressed when you get the other two."
Stern is a great conversationalist!! Like the way he asked questions and allowed Ringo to talk and explain everything
I was Six Years old and my fist Song was
Yellow Submarine.
Now I am 54 and I Love this Four Guys Forever.
They woudn't have been so great without Ringo. 'cause he's the greatest. Long live Ringo!
I don't know. They Never replaced George and did Okay.
Ringo has one of the most soothing speaking voices. Could listen to him for hours.
He's such a loveable "child" and his narrations are always funny and catching...
How can you not love The Beatles? Especially this guy. The bets drummer if you ask me
You've never heard Moon or Mitchell, obviously. Make Ringo look embarrassing.
I have to say i am impressed with Howard Stern as a Brit the way he interviews people is very relaxed almost like a normal conversation between two friends, i think he is very clever. He has created an atmosphere where celebs forget they are celebs for a moment and talk to him honestly...
I wish he could have interviewed George....I feel like a Howard-George interview would’ve been epic!!
Helina Hash somehow I don’t think George would have accepted an invitation
"He's not talking"...I wonder if Stern's people have approached Pete Best.
This just makes me smile from ear to ear. Gotta love Ringo - such a happy vibe. He really nailed the new beat of a generation. Best thing that ever happened to the Beatles - and Brian was right ON it, luring Ringo away, waking him up to come to their gigs. Another great Howard Stern interview! THANKS HOWARD!
Ringo dressed like he just spent the weekend with Wu-Tang Clan.
Na. He's going to play paintball after the interview.
I like how he doesnt dress like an old man
How do old men dress? And what age do you start dressing like one🤔
Howard spoke from the heart at the end and thanked Ringo for being part of the Beatles and for the existence of the Beatles, really. He referred to his difficult times growing up, the joy of Sgt Pepper and that, like so many of us, they saved our lives. I was driving while listening and burst into tears. Howard nailed it, the emotion and the gratitude.
Alot of simpering yuppie children afraid of reality, apparently. Had to be fed cute naptime songs by the Beatles. Eventually you get laid, work bad jobs, and the Stones form the soundtrack for adult life.
Christ Ringo just gets cooler, younger and hipper as he ages....And still touring and doing records...Love his fashion sense as well. At 78 he can still dress like a kid in his 20's
0:54, Howard Stern asks, "Where was their drummer (Pete Best)?" According to Pete, during his two-year tenure as a member of the Beatles he missed two gigs. Both were lunchtime gigs at the Cavern. Once he had the flu, and the second time he had to go to court. Ringo knows this, he just doesn't want to talk about it.
Well, he’s telling a story. He’s not going to start digressing and talking about Pete B is he?!
George Harrison said "Pete kept being sick and not showing up for gigs." Also, Harrison admitted firing Pete was really his idea. "I was quite responsible for stirring things up. I conspired to get Ringo in for good; I talked to Paul and John until they came round to the idea."
Considering its beens like 50 years he might not remember lol
The world of Howard Stern never stops!
I'm glad he became a Beatle. It's sounds so nice hearing John, Paul, George and Ringo.
Why wasnt it john Paul Ringo and george. Pecking order. Shouldve been Paul John George and Ringo.
Ngl whenever I hear his voice I get Thomas the Tank Engine flashbacks.
Coincidentally, probably the last time I ever saw him NOT wearing sunglasses.
Simone Salvatore I still sometimes can't help myself and say "...said Thomas" after he says something
Thomas the vietnam chopper
"Yeah I love The Beatles"
You and me both brother
I'm very lucky. My girlfriend and I saw Ringo at the Greek Theatre two summers ago with his All Star Band and that was great. Then last July we saw Sir Paul at Dodger Stadium and towards the end of his 3 hour show he said "Well it's a surprise for me, a surprise for all of us, but here he is. The one and only Ringo Starr!" And Ringo came out and played a few songs with Paul and his band. As close to a Beatles concert as you could get any more.
he's 78 And he looks like he's 55
Ever saw him in broad daylight. 😊
Great picture my guy
Such an endearing man....I loved all the Beatles and their personalities but Ringo always seemed to be the most 'genuine' of them all...And after all those decades of fame he still seems 'humble'....
My late dad had a Butcher shop in Liverpool. His apprentice went to the Cavern Club and he told Dad, a Swing music fan, about the Beatles. Dad said he actually told his apprentice "How could a band with a name like the Beatles ever get anywhere. I doubt Dad had ever noticed the existence of Buddy Holly and the Crickets.
I love Ringo 😍❤️
Ringo , you were the best drummer in the Beatles ! As much a part of them as George ,Paul & John . Without you they would not have been the Beatles .
Once when John heard someone say that Ringo was the best drummer in the world, he said, "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles".
I noticed Howard interrupts all other guests when they are talking but when Ringo or Paul is on his show they will cut him off and Howard stops talking, Much respect!
George always said Ringo knew exactly what worked for a song. Just the right tempo and fills.
Nice excerpt!! Thanks for posting
He's so freaking amazing.
Holy shiiiiiit, talk about trusting your gut instinct. Ringo's thought bubble - "Hmmmm... Something tells me that John and Paul have some potential. Time to join that band."
It wasn't really as he describes. It just makes a better story. As he just said Rory Storm were playing a holiday camp for working-class drunk people. It was obvious they were going nowhere. By the time Brian Epstein called him The Beatles had just been signed to a record deal with EMI, were on the front page of Liverpool press and had a TV appearance booked. So he was actually being asked if he wanted to stay and play for drunk working-class holiday making in a camp or go to London to record an album and have a shot at real fame.
Ringo said, John, Paul, and George. It was George that recruited Ringo into the band, fact.
What a wholesome man👌🏻
This story illustrates how critical Brian Epstein was to the Beatles success.
Much respect to Ringo for insisting on giving his other band proper notice. That would just be another sign to the new group that you got the right man for the job IMO.
Ringo was the happiest most of the time. He had a good gig and he never questioned it or took it for granted.
Ringo looks always amazing... has such beautiful blue eyes. Always has the sunglasses on 😎
He legit never ages and is the ONLY ONLY ONLY PERSON WHO CAN PULL OFF THAT OUTFIT 😍😍 he's so beautiful for his age ❤❤
Ringo you are looking and sounding so great. Keep on rockin! It's obviously doing you good. Thanks for all you do!
Conozco gente de 40 años que luce más vieja que Ringo, que puto amo joder!
Funny, when he was on Shining Time Station I thought he was so old lol. Now I'm older then he was and I think he looks great these days.
“I GOT A HOLE IN ME POCKET” 😁😂✌🏻
I will never forget that line in the Yellow Submarine movie!
So glad he decided to join! Awesome little story!
Ringo looks good for 78
Peace and love, peace and love
Can never have enough Beatles!
Thats some accent you got there Ringo. Scouse American. Unique.
The Beatles and us were and are blessed to have Ringo.
LUV U Ringo!!!
KUDOS Howard!
U keep getting the lads on! Fan-fucking-tastic!
Keep up the STELLAR work!
LUV U Howard!
Howard, you are amazing to catch a gem like this.
Man Ringo is in such good shape! 👍🏻👍🏻
I hope I look as fly as Ringo when I get older. He looks Fab.
Where is this enternal fountain of youth!
✌❤
These old Beatles stories really are quite fascinating.
The way he was talking there made me remember something I already knew. This guy was the narrator at one point for Thomas the tank engine. Brilliant
Hell yeah!! I only know because my friend's son was a fan of the show.
Those are nice programs ☺👌
Oh shit I love this channel man thanks Howard for keeping us in the loop
What a legend Ringo is😍😍😍
LOVE THIS GUY!!
Doesn't everybody?
I also love the Beatles 💜
Ringo was the perfect fit for the Beatles. He is the greatest drummer.
Just the thought that Ringo Starr exists makes me happy.
What a fucking legend. Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison are 4 Music Gods.
What a great story. Thank you.
Love Ringo. Howard you are still awesome.
God Bless Ringo! And all the Beatles!
this entire interview was amazing. Ringo was riffing on Stern so hard ahaha just awesome stuff.
Damn, I’ve gotta listen to the full interview!😁👍
Ringo STARR, my favorite Beatle
Haters hate on Howard but he is the best interviewer alive and he gets the best guests..I mean Paul, Ringo..he gets Metallica to do concerts in his studio..Under rated genuis
AWESOME
Love how he threw that little imitation of Brian in there
And the rest is history ❤️❤️❤️❤️
It must be great to have the whole world love you. Ringo would know.
Ringo; mad swag!!!
Probably the best interviewer of all time...
So true.
I can't imagine anyone else drumming for the Beatles than Ringo.
I love this story.
It was meant to be
Ringo repping streetwear with that camo MA-1, "Life is Good" snapback, Jordans, and pleather joggers at like 76 years old.
Great story. Love Ringo.
Hard to believe he's 79 now.
Love his name, got a nice ring to it.
Comments on every Ringo video:
100% he looks so young
Cool jacket, Richie.
Paul and Ringo are both sharp as a tack. No forgetting anything
Peace and love! Peace and LOVE!
How fucking cool is Ringo?!
Ringo, still got a scouse accent and it suits you like your beard. Always appreciated your NARRATIVE VOICE. there's a reason why they gave you Thomas the tank for a few seasons. You always look juvenile. Barbara takes good care of you. I could see him as a perfect ambassador for unicef
His scouse accent went yrs ago
No scouse there anymore..
Antonio Szytulskyj His accent sounds more like yank now..living in America too long. What a shame!! ..p.s- your ears are dogshit
John called Ringo the heart and soul of the Beatles and it is easy to see why in his interviews
