Nitpicking here, but here are all the things I noticed that were wrong: 1. Protect is priority, so speed doesn’t matter 2. Outrage isn’t super effective on electric types 3. There’s absolutely no way a level 63 Garchomp couldn’t OHKO a level 6 Pikachu 4. Hyper training exists, so no one in their right mind would hatch that many eggs for perfect ivs. The addition of mints, capsules and patches makes hatching that many eggs for abilities or natures redundant too. 5. The Pokémon being hatched are Sobbles not Gibles, and Groudon can’t be hatched And finally, 6. I’m an asshole who ruins fun animated videos about one of my favorite game series. Keep up the good work Gumbino, missed you guys

I have had battles where RNG was so stacked against me or for me that it legit felt like nothing short divine intervention or power of friendship. One battle I'll never forget(at least not the ending for) where I was certain that I would win but the power of friendship proved me wrong. Imagine it all comes down to a 1v1 between tapu bulu and ash greninja. Bulu is kinda low on health but greninja is choice locked into dark pulse and you know that you can survive at least 3 hits and horn leech is a clean OHKO(wood hammer works as well since in the case of a tie the winner usually goes the attacker). What happens next makes your jaw drop in disbelief. You flinch for 2 consecutive turns then greninja lands a critical hit on the 3rd turn causing tapu bulu to faint.
Ash: "well, I am a dummy". Proceeds to make a dramatic entrance and sticks the landing Me: "oh no, he's doing it again, just forfeit"!!!!! Competitive Trainer: "I will not, my Pokemon will desimate whatever Pokemon this test dummy will choose". Pikachu proceeds to destroy a level 63 Garchomp with a gun Me: "he's using his plot armor". Competitive Trainer: "no, how could my perfectly trained IV Pokemon loose to a LV 6 Pikachu, this can't be"!!!!!!!!!!!!

Completive Pokemon still blows my mind. I skipped the generation that introduced it world wide so I didn't encoutner it until years latter on Minecraft's Pixelmon mod where it can run pretty rampant in War Zones and Tournaments. In one sense I understand why people do it. Being a MTG player I know all about making layered defenses and Pokemon does offer that with things like Stealth Rock and Rough Body being pre-emptive strategies....but it just seems wrong that so many people do this just to make their enemy miserable XD Like legitimately taking a fun Mons RPG and boiling it down to this seems fundamentally a betrayal to the game's entire purpose ...yet it is intriguing to take a team and stack it to be one jank engine to destroy the other's attempts to game the system so it evens out. =P
I will never be an EV trainer nor will I do the nuzlocke challenge. I play Pokémon for fun. My joy comes raising Pokémon, getting badges, traveling the region. I’m not trying to be the very best that no one ever was, catch them all, or none of that stuff. It sucks the fun out of it for me. Sure I get my ass kicked by EV trainers, but it doesn’t bother me. Time for some rule lawyering, all in good fun: How are Pikachu and Garchomp's levels different when competitive battles always have all Pokemon synched to either lv50 or lv100? If the trainer wanted to practice, he definitely would've used a competitive format. Why hasn't the competitive battler raised the level of his Pokemon to max? If they already had everything they needed without getting to max level, going up to 63 would be pointless. Why don't the competitive trainer's Pokemon have max friendship? That would allow their Pokemon to copy Pikachu. Return was taken out of the games for a reason. Despite the common belief saying otherwise, competitve players actually do form attentions to their Pokemon. Considering Garchomp can survive it's own G-force of flying at the speed of sound (sure GAME FREAK, I totally believe you), a gun wouldn't actually be as effective as you think, definitely not enough to one shot. Outrage can't move before Protect. Surprisingly, while Pikachu certainly isn't amazing, it does a lot better in competitive than one might think. It does pretty good damage while holding a Light Ball, and has access to moves such as Extemespeed, Volt Tackle, Fake Out and Feint, which are pretty solid moves, and quite a selection of good priority moves. Ash cut onions with a knife, which would definitely be considered using an item.
