Here's a first look at a new machine that i'm super excited to show off on the channel! Would you buy something like this for your shop? Sorry for audio.
#cnc #maker #ooznest
**full disclosure this machine was sent to me in exchange for placement in my cnc project videos - Наука та технологія
Thanks for the video @WildRoseBuilds! Great to see you have the machine built, looks awesome!
That was awesome! Love your work man 👍 Stay safe
So cool. I love building things!
Thanks for this video! And Yes, I rang the bell! :)
Excellent video fella, I used to operate a cnc router for a large blue Chip company, I love the look of your set up.
New subscriber here.
My favourite video out of your playlist, would love to see more about CNC :) Great video my dude!
Came here from GMM. I look forward to going through your content.
Thanks Jack! Welcome to the channel! :)
Hi, good review of the CNC machine. Would you happen to know if the WorkBee function with Light Burn?
it crazy how smalbl this cnc looks in the ooznest photo i got a shock when i looked it up on youtube its massive definitly guna get 1 now
Would it be possible to get some more information on the smaller ones available. That one is much bigger then i need but a smaller one might work. But how much smaller is smaller?
Just ordered Openbuilds Workbee today. Dig the Nails poster.
What program does it work off? Is it newbie friendly. I had almost given up on adding a CNC machine to my new shop until I saw your vid. I'm now stoked!
I think nested style furniture would be cool. Let me explain, the parts all nest together on the sheet and then maybe lock together to make a bench or stool. You know how those IKEA lamps that lock together that make a huge globe. Maybe something like that. Another thought is to make slot and peg furniture something that can be broken down and reassembled quickly. I enjoy the content and get inspiration from your prints to produce some of the same. Also thanks for using some really cool filament, I’ve switched over to some of the same (just got sick of to many primary color options).
absolutely! i briefly show off my zero waste stool design near the end! glad i could inspire, thankyou friend!
It needs a larger z axis range, are there any kits to make it taller?
how did you route your power cable for your router.... you're the first i've seen that doesn't have the cord hanging from above.
Great content 👍,love the tune at the start ,what's the name of the track ?
Incase anyone is wondering, the song is called hyperspeed by eveningland.
can you use a 4 axis rotary on this machine great video
Cnc milling is cool!
I love the way you get the 1500x1500 but look like you are only using 650x650.
Thanks for sharing, Iam looking at getting one of those myself. Are you having any issues with lead screws whipping?
no issues so far and i've really been pushing the limit with my feeds and speeds! ;)
What are your feed rates?
Can that variety of machine cut intricate patterns like japanese kumiko?
Love the content
I have nearly completed one of these. Using a duet 3 so I got to design a case for it and then wire it up and should be working.
Sounds awesome! are there any major advantages to the duet 3 for this use case?
@@WildRoseBuilds upgradeability, the stepper drivers can do 6.3A peak (4.45 rms) vs 2.4 of the duet 2. Better CPU more connections. Going to be needed if you step up to the next bigger nema size in the steppers or even just more powerfull motors in the current size.. Ingegrated P100 support for High temp e3d thermocouples. I sourced all the parts myself so the diffence in cost was lower than buying a duet 3 to replace the duet 2.
@@adama1294 do the stepper drivers from the duet work with the nema 23? Does it need anything else?
Can any of these builds be replaced with a water cooled spindle?
Hey how much did shipping cost you considering they're overseas (I'm in the U.S.).
Hi Wildrosebuilds, thanks very much for your nice demonstration. I am not very skilled in this field and try to find my way, because I am thinking of buying a workbee. I see various workbee suppliers, of whom Bulkman 3d is popular. Do you know whether their workbee is comparable to the Ooznest workbee? I also saw people using the centroid acorn board and software, which should be much better than Mach3 or 4. Can you tell something about that ans is the Duet comparable to that board and software or is it also using Mach 3 (or 4)?
My final question is, whether you have experience in milling (soft) metals and how this machine copes with that?
Hey Gerrit!
I think for the suppliers go with whichever company is closest to you as theyre pretty expensive to ship.
i don't know a whole lot about the electronics of these machines yet but the duet seems to have a ton of features compared to other boards.
The workbee runs its own interface so no need for mach :)
i'll be doing some aluminum milling shortly on this guy so stay tuned!
@@WildRoseBuilds Thank you very much. I'll stay tuned!
Can I ask what software are you using with this machine.
Does this have any issues cutting through zinc?
Hey, what is the phone app called that you used to set up the start position?
thats the web client hosted by the machine itself, i just type in the IP to connect to it! :)
@@WildRoseBuildshow ?
great video.
What size is this machine? I know you said the largest but I saw its screw driven meaning max 1000mm not belt driven for larger... just trying to decide between srew or belt but size looks good for your shop (similar to mine) great work keep creating....
thanks Brett! this machine is 1500 x 1500 mm, i might have opted for a smaller one but im really interested in larger furniture designs
HOLY Nikola Tesla poster. I'm going to have to jam that album now.
Mending our broken is an absolute banger ;)
very nice but that router is crap and to loud. do they have a water cooled spindle version?
Matthew Poole it’s all open source you can strap any spindle you’d like to it ;)
With a little bit of hunting, I found a USA distributor, but they do not offer the black extrusions like you have. Where did you get yours from??
it was a color option from ooznest!
@@WildRoseBuilds HMMM......I'm not seeing that on any of their web sites.
I might just need to buy this 😂
Aidan Williams highly recommended! I’m having a blast with mine so far!
Hello
Can someone tell me if i can use this cnc for drilling and routing of Printed Circuit boards?
Thanks
i'm pretty sure this machine has the resolution for that but you could buy one of the cheaper 3018 cnc machine for a few hundred dollars if all you're cutting is pcbs.
Hey is that dust “shoe?” Design you have there available for sharing somewhere ?
it's not! i have a newer one though, I'll see if I can find the files and post that!
Where did you get the dust shoe from?
printed it! instagram.com/p/B7_jYyCnlRs/
Hi, would this cut through 15mm light weight ply ?
Yes! I’ve cut 1 inch Baltic birch ply with great results 😉
Waht name is app
Kinda cool
Can you machine other materials or only wood ?
yeah i've done a little brass on this guy, and i have some plans to cut aluminum soon. :)
nice)
Hey, i'm thinking of buying one, but i dont understand UK taxes or what is ex VAT. If price is ~1775 £ and below writes ex VAT 1479£ . so the total price for CNC is the sum of these two? Or?
Please help :)
If price is £1775, then price is £1775. Vat is 20%. £1479 + vat of 20% = £1775. Ex vat prices are only normally relevant to Vat registered businesses. (Please don't correct me on all the other cross border circumstances where it IS relevant!)
If it's from China they will probably mark it as "value, £3.62" to avoid taxes 😂
Please craft prusa frame with this machine! Make the crafted printer lightweight and portable.
i definitely have some plans to build a printer using this machine ;)
They shipped this from the UK?
yep :)
Good job, now do some satisfy timelapse CNC stuffs with this machine
Euros The Humble of course ;) lots to come
so if ur not good at the software side of things can you upload designs im pritty decent on a computer but not on design software so thats wat wurrys me
Great vid.
Lay off the drugs.
Excited to see more builds.
Nice video and description. BUT, you should never ever work in a workshop with power tools with long hair (down). People have lost scalps that way.
Pls repair the link. It's not showing complete.
should be good now!
@@WildRoseBuilds Oh! 😉 Thank you very much.
are you from Alberta?
Projecx yeah! Calgary!
WildRoseBuilds LoL that’s awesome I grow up in calgary. Westbrook mall area SW. I kinda figured with the wild rose logo.
@@WildRoseBuilds I'm in Ontario, did you pay any duty and how crazy was shipping?
I feel like I’ve seen this video before
CNC some plugs please haha
haha i will at some point
I though affordable was below the 1k USD lol.
Control deck for arcades made of wood and plexiglass. I would like to order. Atgames legends ultimate arcade...
2:54 FWIW, a 3d printer is a CNC machine.
Чувак похож на Галину Сергеевну из Папиных дочек.
Hey, what city are you in? I have some work for local CNC shops in different cities. If you or anyone else is interested please feel free to message me. Thx
Could you sell me a dust shoe?
i have some work to do on that design, but maybe itll find its way to my etsy :)
Wow yo got in the dark side😳
Just make yourself one
Nema 23 probably...
yeah meant to edit that in
Why wouldn t you show what can be done with it?Just talking

Define 'budget friendly' please
Tracy Norrell link in bio to check. I think the smaller size starts at $1500, so 1.5x a prusa mk3s haha
