You are welcome. Steve and I are dorks trying to use public transport and want others to know how easy it is once a person understands exactly how it works. Regards, Travels With Sheila
Pretty cool. i watch Sheila video's to prepare my own World wide tour. I've been to Taipei Taiwan airport all i can say is WWOOOWW. The airport is a mall too. Very friendly staff.
Thank you so much Sheila ... firstly, I am simply amazed on what useful info I find on UA-cam & secondly, your pleasant description of how to use the SMRT was perfect for allaying my apprehension to visiting Singapore for the first time tomorrow. I now have an elevated sense of confidence as I venture out.
Thank you for your nice comments. My intent is to make it easier for others. If we two dorks can do it, anyone can. Almost everyone in Singapore speaks English and will help you with anything! It is one of the cleanest cities in the world and so easy to get around. Hope you have a wonderful trip. Regards, Sheila
Sheila ... I had a wonderful time & it was a breeze using the public transporation system ... my favorite spot was the Botanical Gardens & Cloud Forest ... a bit expensive for food & attractions but enjoyable.
Darryl Jones We are visiting Singapore again in December and have read about the Cloud Forest and can't wait to go there. Glad everything worked out well for you! Regards, Sheila
@BFDI Pencil & Swee Heng Official/FBDI I’m so glad to hear of your return to my channel and a big welcome back! 🙏 I so wish we were in Singapore right now and hope it won’t be much longer before we can freely travel again. Best to you and yours during the pandemic and hope you have a wonderful holiday. Thanks for the transportation update and regards, Sheila 😍
I think, since it's been a while, you pay for the ticket to your end destination, and then just transfer at the interchange. But if unsure, ask in the station. Personnel is very helpful
Just select the destination you want to go, regardless of the lines colour or whatever. The machine will calculate the fares. You paid for it, and just go to whatever your destinations is. 1 ticket for 1 destinations, regardless of lines :) hope it helps.
Thank you for the video, i just landed in Singapore today and looking forward to exploring the city with the MRT tomorrow..my worries are a bit eased with this helpful resource.
Hope you have a wonderful trip and let me know how things go if you have time. Singapore is so easy to get around and such a fabulous city. Thanks for watching and best regards, Sheila
Sheila Simkin Yes ma'am i did, it was amazing, used the MRT conveniently across the city and only 2.50 to Chanig airport as compared to 36 sing Dollars i spent on my arrival from the airport to my hostel in Little india...God bless
I'm so glad things worked out well for you! Asian metro systems are wonderful. I just wish our Chicago metro worked as efficiently as Singapore and other countries. Very best regards and thanks for letting me know. Sheila
@BlackCaviar101 Have a great time and hope the video makes it a little easier for you to get around. Thanks for visiting and taking your time to comment. Best regards, Travels With Sheila
Thanks for the tips. I usually avoid Little India only because we usually travel to India at least once each year! And thanks for visiting my channel. Best regards, Travels With Sheila
@augpeh You are so right! I need a production crew to travel with me and an editor to keep me from making silly mistakes. Best regards, Travels With Sheila
I found the MRT easy to use too but a bit a bit confusing the first time you do it and have to return card and get $1 back all the time , in Hong Kong you get an Octapus card and keep it with you all the time and re-charge it when it gets low which is a much better system . Good helpful video anyway .
Thanks for watching, Tatami, and taking time to post a comment. Everything in Singapore is easy and efficient for visitors (as well as locals) to use. Have a Happy New Year and best, Sheila
I'm very happy when the videos make it a little easier for other people. Particularly since Marine Steve (husband) and I are mechanically challenged dorks. Best regards and thanks for visiting my channel. Sheila

That is a constant problem on trains and metro. Thank goodness the new suitcases with wheels make it a little easier to deal with but it is still do-it-yourself. Somehow, we, and others, manage. Thanks for taking time to watch and add a comment. Regards, Sheila
Hi Tanveer: Here is a link to the Singapore website and I hope it answers your questions since I have no idea! Thanks for watching and hope you have a great trip. Best, Sheila
The MRT is excellent. I haven't been to Singapore in a while. Are prices still the same? Thanks for watching and taking time to add a comment. Best regards, Sheila
Sheila Simkin the prices have increase of course It even took more than $2 to travel far out when purchasing those temporary cards I use this system mostly about Everyday This year they had implement a new signalling system that *WAS* supposed to make our "Journeys" better but it didn't it did the *opposite* It made everything slower and messed up I wished our MRT was what it was like in the 1990s FAST, SMOOTH, COMFORT But then again it is at least easier to use it...
I think that's a great idea. I'd rather not be stepping on sticky things all the time plus it's efficient. Thanks for watching Takami, and best regards, Sheila
You select your final destination where you exit the 'paid area'. You get there in any route you want, as long as you reach your destination and exit.
You are welcome. Steve and I are dorks trying to use public transport and want others to know how easy it is once a person understands exactly how it works. Regards, Travels With Sheila
looks nice, similar to the system in Hong Kong. I'm hoping to visit Singapore this September. Thanks for the video.
