Interesting lbws . When the keeper is appealing from a yard down leg then it’s a bit of an indicator
I’ve been a Sanderstead Chronic since I discovered the UA-cam Chanel 3 years ago …I look forward to the videos each week and feel disappointed when there’s a loss snatched from the jaws of victory ….keep punching boys success will come ….🤔👍
Fantastic coverage Dan, you build the tension so well
Glad you enjoyed it. I am getting lots of practice at building tension 😂
@@SandersteadCCTV hope your drive back around the notorious M25 went smoothly Dan, after your ONE beer lol 😂
Thank you to Mr.SandersteadTV - your edited clips are a great reflection of the game - thank you, I enjoyed watching them. It was lovely to see you at Chertsey (& my lad is still feeling a bit sore today but getting better). Your team were very gracious & kind throughout the game as I walked the boundary. I hope they stay up with us.
Watching this after seeing Worcester absolutely thrashed at new road. Fair play to Chertsey they really pulled it back. Fantastic video and commentary as always.
Shocking no-ball call there! Full toss that hits the stumps can hardly be a waist high no ball surely? Batsmans interesting decision to duck maybe fooled the umpire?
I agree, it hit halfway up off stump as well lol
Yeah, I paused it to check. Was thigh-high at best. Sloppy umpiring to be calling it from the striker's end in the first place - when in doubt, consult with the square leg.
Franklyn Stephenson ex West Indies and Notts would have never got a wicket with those rules
19:35 what have I just seen HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHA
I'm sure uts been said already, if not in the commentary, Sanderstead the experts at dragging a defeat out from the jaws of victory!
Past masters at it - takes a lot of practice 😂
Played on that ground for Stage CC. I don't blame Josh M. The sun is a nightmare where he was standing.
Tension plus. Jeez, the one that got away!
Oh crumbs we needed that one I may have to step in and bowl and save the season 💯👌🤣
The applause for the 4 at 8:50 is amazing 😅
Couldn’t believe it - great timing from the Chertsey Town FC crowd over the hedge, clearly cheering something in the football match 😂
Young Josh at No.11 walking to the crease looking like he's got this under control. Superb attitude to the situation
He’s taken to 1st XI cricket so well for a 16 yr old. He’ll only get better and better - good lad!
Come on guys - you need to hang in!
Tell me about it!
Sanderstead CC TV is definitely the channel for entertainment this season.
Looking purely from afar, this season seems to be one of transition for Sanderstead 1st XI as you have struggled with availability. Jon Coles has barely played, Simon Carter I don't think has featured at all, Ryan Foley is only available for home games and your son James is recovering from an operation. However this has given others the opportunity to shine and Jake Scarisbrick has done so brightly at the top of the order.
Your videos make my weekend!!
Glad you like them!
Ive said it before, I'd rather lose by 200 runs than lose like this. Sickener.
As you know, we at Merton CC name our Sunday teams - if the Sanderstead 1s have to be watched behind the sofa, may I suggest naming them the Daleks? Whoever captains the team would then be known as Davros
Nice - I like that!
Bugger on the wrong end of another close one again! At least the weather held and you got a game. Was get really bad withdrawal symptoms with no Village cricket from Horley, North Wheatley or Sanderstead !
Played there on a Sunday in 2011! Need some wins guys!
It’s a shame Mikey McNicol didn’t come along when Tricky Wilson was still at the club. Would’ve made for a strong opening bowling attack that’s for sure.
Oh man Josh was so unlucky not to get that 5th wicket, that lbw shout looked to be missing off stump and leg stump!
😂 I’ll use that one, thanks!
them the next wicket he gave was very dodgy compared to thst shout for thr goung lads 5th !!
Great watch, have to feel for the Sanderstead lads... There were a lot of lads from Chertsey running across the wicket at every opportunity which is a bit naughty
I am still in shock that Josh M dropped a catch, that is so rare and looks like he lost sight of it. Always next week😊
Yeah - he never drops catches! He was looking straight into the sun and lost the ball right at the end.
August = "spinners month".
Used to dread turning up away at the end of the season and seeing 2 decent spinners on the opposition team sheet.
That lbw for the 4th wicket was an absolute shocker. Clearly missing leg by MILES!
Difficult to judge the last wicket, but it looked very dubious.
Interested to know what Liam was given out for ? Obstructing the field maybe , definitely wasn’t lbw.
Any reason the keeper celebrated like that at Josh then didn’t shake his hand ? Something happen earlier in the game ?
im not to sure my self
Never in my life have I see somebody get bowled and it be called a no-ball for height
Always a first for everything 😂
Could feasibly be a no-ball if it hit the bails but this was a third of the way up off stump. Poor call that was based more on the batsman's reaction than actual height.
@@libertyordeaf 100% mate!
Oh no. What.....I think you summed it up. BONKERS. Do Chertsey do Pilgrim, I think its time for one.
We were hard done by with some of those decisions....
LBW was a shocker
Whoa I was under the impression if it hits the stumps it cant be a no ball?! Never seen that before though, and it wasn't like it just skimmed the top, it hit halfway up off stump! Id be very dirty as the bowler haha
Thats LBW was rediculous. Just look at where the keeper appeals from. Surely a clue!
Some suspicious looking decisions, keeper gives a lot away
Nothing suspicious, just a few close calls. These are league panel umpires are very good.
Last wicket the keeper was already outside leg stump. If you can't spot that as an umpire then it's probably time to do friendlies.
Admit the same. A couple of those lbw decisions were dodgy. In my view still too much over the top jubilations when appealing. Seems to be the norm these days
Div 3 umpires - just awful 😂😂😂 nothing changes in the Surrey leagues
Gutted for Tyler. Would love to see him getting big scores again.
As a filthy offie I would love to have a ball turn like that 😮
This was yesterday, don’t usually play for men but i helped out but in morning I play football and I play goalkeeper and then went and played a game did 40 overs field and then didn’t need to bat easy win, and then I’m playing football today and my back in killing 😂. Also keep up the great work always love the videos
Thanks Sarah - sound like you are very busy….
@@SandersteadCCTV yeah not half but wouldn’t change it doing what I love playing football and cricket
Shame to loose that one - Chertsey did very well there...
Two evenly matched sides just lost by very little. A noble effort.
No Village Vettori available? For the second spinner…
A classic Sanderstead batting collapse again after having it in the bag!
We’re getting good at that!
200 of 50 overs should knock that of Definitely missing the likes of a Jacko Dan, and Jallon Christie, and big Simon, Carter and Sharif I think the glory days have gone
Can it really be a no ball if it hit the stump halfway down 😮
Very good match. Unlucky SCC but the Chertsey spinners were very good. One who bowling like Sunil Narine turning both ways from front on action and the other a very good off spinner who got lots of turn when he went through his action and pivot with vigor.
Agreed - they made the difference in a tight game.
Bad luck SCC !!!
I’m sorry if you get asked this a lot but is Longcock ok, haven’t seen him in a while and always enjoyed his spin!
He loves and works in Birmingham - plays his cricket in Warwick’s league. We see him from time to time and when he can get a job in London he’ll be right back. Miss him….
Fantastic to hear he's still playing, thank you!@@SandersteadCCTV
I’ve not got to the end of the video yet but the umpires are, well, indifferent. Spinner turning it square and for the 4th wicket in Sanderstead’s innings the keeper is appealing from a set of stumps down the leg side. On what basis can the umpire be certain the ball will hit the stumps? You have to question whether In real terms players would be better off officiating themselves and I make that comment on the basis that in the first innings several appeals looked stone dead.
Oh dear, another one thrown away.
We don't do easy indeed.
Tell me about it!
Couple of suspect lbw calls against the lads
I blame the commentary :D "Umpire's had a good game" .. Followed by what looked like a couple of shockers. Turned the game, as such things invariably do.[said confidently off a video filmed at long off].
Please remind me...where is Simon Carter?
Dharmasena strikes again
The bowler’s celebration at the end is a little over the top. I’ve seen teams less excited after winning the league 😂
Not criticism but I think Josh Stacey is a much better bowler when he gives it some flight
😮
Indeed 😵
Oh dear, reminds me of how I used to bat..... useless and not a pretty sight. Sanderstead's biggest mistake is trying to bat properly. They should know by now that they can't so instead they should go unorthodox - can't do any worse.
Maybe - but we also let them get too many runs. But, whatever the reasons - it’s a game we should have won, the ability is there it just doesn’t seem to translate into enough wins - yet! I have faith we will get there…
Bauman and Tyler not scoring enough runs as frontline bats
Where’s Simon these days?
Seemed to be a lot of overappealing from the opposition. Sad to say, it seems to work nowadays as umpires can't handle the pressure. At least three of the Sanderstead batsmen seemed hard done by and in such a close game, it seemed to be the umpires that had the last laugh.
Some interesting decisions but bottom line is, batting performance was very poor against an average Chertsey side who granted had 2 very good spinners who clearly win games for them.
Before I started watching & saw Chris B was playing, I hoped we were going to get an innings from him but alas not. Shame Josh M or Scaz couldn’t of gone bigger but another game that really should have been won!
Good summary. I also feel we should have contained them to less than 200. Need a second spinner in July/August.
Whys matt Harris back in 2s?
*replaces sofa till next week...*
😂
Unlucky Sanderstead.
Chertsey's openers blew you away and you just didn't quite get the rub of the green.
And talking of green, what about that wicket!!! A real Bunsen!
Can some of the Joshes change their names? It gets awfully confusing.
Appreciate the club will need tow the party line and cant say anything against the umpiring buy holy shit that was bad from both of them throughout the game. The full toss was a joke and when u think thats the worst u will seenthe 4th wicket ij 2nd innings "lbw" is up there with match fixing level stuff, its missing leg on another set, look where the keeper has ended up, utter basics yet both umps give absolute shockers.
I don't think we have to worry about match fixing in a local cricket game ? Apologies if the Surrey mafia have infiltrated Chertsey CC.
The standard has slumped over the years!!🙄
Terrible no ball call on the full toss. The ball has to be above the waist height of the batsman standing at the crease. That's belly height - of the player standing up straight at the crease. The ball was well under that threshold IMO.
You are incorrect.
The League guidelines have the waist as the waistband of the trousers, or where that would be expected to be.
And you may be surprised how much a ball, even bowled at pace, can dip late in its flight.
@@graemestarkey7524 very generous league guidelines, which don't align with the Laws in my view. But if that's what they are then so be it. Even with those guidelines in play it still looks a poor call to me - especially when you see the batsman stand up after the delivery and you see how tall he is.
@@graemestarkey7524....and it was a slow ball that looked like a Beamer halfway down the track ..... then dipped viciously. My son, the batsman, agreed with the bowler that it probably was a wicket (& they both agreed that either decision could have been given & neither would have grumbled). They both played in good spirits & were respectful towards one another. The bowler called my lad "a warrior" as he later got injured in chasing down the boundary. Batsman is 6'3.... so that might have added to the deception too. I hope my comment is fair.
Think those bloke needs to learn to use there feet to spin
Some very bad umpiring decisions, but good game anyway 👍
Some dreadful umpiring on show again. That one on liam was a horror decision. Lbw looked out for Josh and that is never a no ball. Bad defeat against what looked an average 2s side but looked like 11 v 13
Some very strange LBW decisions, ruined a good game
Umpiring was awful
Said this before on this channel and i will say it. The umpires in your league are shockingly bad. How many LBWs given when the keeper is miles down leg side says it all. And that young lads lbw shout for a 5fer was as plumb as it gets.
How can it be a no ball if you hit the wickets? Terrible decision.
Look up Spedegue’s dropper- bowling huge moon balls aimed at landing on the stumps was outlawed as a result. The height no-ball does the same thing, maybe unintentionally. Would be interesting to see the side view - it did drop from a crazy height and May well have been above waist as it passed the batsman. We’ll never know! I also think the umpire was fooled by the lack of pace - it was a brilliant delivery. But like the ball Chris Read (I think) got in a test match many years ago….
The height no ball is where the height of the ball is when it passes where the batter would have been stood had they not taken evasive action so it looks like it was indeed over waist height at that point and the square leg umpire possibly signalled it (off camera) or called it on his radio to his colleague
@@jamesryder3279 I am aware of that, that's why it's a terrible decision. Only if you're looping the ball about 10 feet up in the air can it be a no ball if it hits the wickets. You even get a slow motion reply to demonstrate what a pathetic decision it was.
Sorry, no ball
Tough to tell from the angle, but I felt it was the right decision even though I think the ump was fooled by the pace too!
4 games left already wtf
Being too fat to get behind my sofa I endured whilst laying on it. 2nd spinner definitely needed, time to dust the whites of Mr. A? 🦸
😂😂😂
