@Jeffs60 I think it's from the high carbohydrates, rice. Philippines eat a lot of meat, pork and fish. Pork is the most popular meat in the world. Which is funny because the most popular name is Mohammed🤣. But I think it is from the carbs, they eat big servings of rice. China has the highest rate of diabetes 140 million people.
@@Lawrence-tw6yc China has 140 million living with diabetes since they have the largest population. I was saying death rate from diabetes and according to world life expectancy map Fiji is rank #1 and China is very low at rank 148 for death per 100,000 due to diabetes.
Rich Roll has played a very incredible roll in my life w/ his podcasts on plant-based eating. I thank him from my heart. I was diabetic & 70 lbs. overweight when I learned about intermittent fasting, which I began doing; from there I learned about whole foods, plant-based. I listened to Rich’s podcasts on “Mastering Diabetes” & his podcast with Dr.B on fiber & fermented food. Everything clicked & before I knew it my glucose levels were normal & my HbA1C went from 6.2 down to 5.2. I feel so much better. My allergies vanished, my arthritis went away. I eat whole foods & especially beans & other legumes. My labs all went down in the fats area such as LDL, TG, Cholesterol & my HDL went up nicely. My kidney values also improved. I have been eating like this 11 mos. I love making & eating my own beans, esp. black beans. Fiber-fueled. Yay!
Harrisburg is a wonderful speaker, calm and patient, explaining things clearly. His descriptions of CGMs, their functions and best use, is helpful and reasonable. Also, to have someone who can compare a standard diet, paleo, keto, now WFPB on his experience makes him an example to listen to.
I've been a type 2 for over 15 years and I'm trying to eat plant based but its difficult at times. So what I'm doing for now is 80% plant and 20% meat. This has reduced my glucose levels a lot along with exercise. Listening to you guys was very helpful. Thanks!
@@elvitosAre you joking? Did you even listen to the podcast? The guest went keto or high fat and STILL had problems with his condition and became insulin resistant. It wasn't until he became completely whole food plant based with a lot of naturally occurring carbohydrates that he became less insulin resistant and better able to manage his diabetes.
@@elvitoshigh blood sugar is a symptom of diabetes. Diabetes, by DEFINITION, is the body's inability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin. Eating no carbs is just treating a symptom. It is like me, my ankle hurts when I walk. So the problem is me walking, just stop walking would be my answer according to this logic. But if the actual problem can be fixed, that does seem preferable.
The difference between complex carbohydrates (whole foods such as whole grains, vegetables, legumes), and simple carbohydrates (refined and processed carbohydrates), needs to be distinguished. The week-long retreats I've been involved with, using the former category of foods, have allowed diabetics to reduce and in some cases eliminate the administering of insulin in such a short period of time. Thanks for sharing your story Drew (and thanks Rich).
1. Is whole grain oat groats? Steel cut? Rolled? Even Gregor has said he has trouble in some patients with high triglycerides (from grains). 2. I’m still waiting for someone to comment on a. Plant based vs b. Plant based minus grains, increasing nuts/seeds/avocado.
Even minor exercise can deplete glycogen stores, and enable people to eat most if not any food (in moderation obviously) without issue. I really think the mind-set that exercise is almost irrelevant for weight loss or managing diabetes is a much bigger issue.
I think this podcast and this episode specifically saved my life. I started being mindful of my saturated fats and am starting to notice the effects of my insulin sensitivity improving!!! Ive been watching other content on the subject matter with this new lens of perception and man how this stuff get convoluted. This detail isn’t specifically addressed but they do mention its benefits in the background like a meta analysis
Rich I have really enjoyed most of your shows. I am totally plant whole food base in a small town in Oklahoma where fried foods and barbecue, plus crap Italian food is the go to. I love love good Chinese food and learning more and more how to cook at home without oil.I enjoy when you talk about just trying things as you go to see what is the best fit . Thank you for your energy and all the background helpers. They do not go unnoticed.😺
The carnivore zealots in this comment section are losing it. People have been lied to by fitness influencers and supplement peddlers. A plant based diet is just fine, and a diet that is mostly plant based and occasional meat is the most balanced and what people have been eating for centuries before factory farming, whoever tells you that you need to eat meat every day or even meat alone is absolutely lying to you.
You literally can only do a vegan diet with supplements. You would become extremely malnourished and ill if you tried to do a vegan diet without supplements. Who is the zealot and a shill for supplements?
As usual such a wonderful unbiased look at nutrition and how we can use food to help our body deal with serious conditions. This is what an open mind looks like.
@@zed5129 Did you listen to the podcast? This gentleman tried many diets looking for a way of eating that would help support his body in dealing with type 1diabetes and he found that a plant based diet was the best for him. He even acknowledged that it might not be the best for everyone. So where is your problem? It seems like you are the one with the closed mind.
@@mickilicyes5399 I did listen. Harrisberg has a very serious condition called Type 1 diabetes, had very serious symptoms because of it, and tried to solve it on his own with a ketogenic diet instead of seeking the advice of a clinician experienced with treating T1 diabetes with the keto diet. It stopped working for him and he didn't know what to do. Then he sought the advice of WFPB experts who helped him bring it under control with a WFPB diet. Hence the bias against keto. He wasn't qualified to treat himself. That said, he did say a lot that sounded right (to my nonexpertise ears). It was a good interview.
Excellent conversation, gentlemen. His was the best description of type 1 diabetes I've ever heard. Many people linger for too long in denial believing that the pancreas may eventually reverse it's ability to produce insulin which unfortunately is not the case. His emphasis on the lows should not be minimalized as can very easily lead to a diabetic coma.
Kudos to those who change to a starchbased vegetarian diet, without dairy and extra oil especially those who have never eaten plants earlier. In India ( I am 67,a South Indian lady), until the 80s, we South Indian Brahmins ate a ricebased vegetarian diet with a little dairy but oil was a little extra. No one went regularly to restauraunts to eat. Hardly anyone was overweight. Today it's a different story in India.. All take a lot of dairy in our community ( thanks to the false assumption that they are getting benefits from calcium and protein) and oil consumption has increased. Hardly anyyone is fit, especially after 55. I am lucky I came to know about Doctor John McDougall in 2021 Oct and threw out the dairy and extra oil. I continued to run ( my dad is Retd Air Marshal P. V. Iyer) thanks to my dad. He is 94 and has just written a book: Fit at any age. .
1:00:00 those saying this is propaganda haven’t watched it. He says you can manage diabetes with keto, he’s just saying there’s alternatives (I’m not a vegan btw, just a scientist that likes to hear all approaches)
Which just makes me wonder how seemingly intelligent people still pay for the rape, confinement, abuse and murder of sentient beings for their disgusting little sandwich. They are adorable looking around wondering what the next thing in life is for them. Except there is nothing but fear pain and death. It destroys me. How could you? No really. How could you??
Yep, I would suggest any keto advocates to at least watch Earthlings. At least be informed, even if you choose to support it. No added sugars. Just 90% plant based and 10% meat. I think I get used to it easly coz my father (70 now) since 10 years old he doesnt eat any meat/milk and just fish occasionaly. So basically plant based 99% . no snacks as well. He smokes n drink coffee but he only eats cooked meals (cooked by him) twice a day and that is it. No snacks no proccesed. Just plant based. Lots of great introductory information about diabetes in this episode! I'm shocked it took so long for Drew to get a diagnosis when he had all the symptoms of T1 diabetes and his parents are doctors. Just goes to show that we are very affected by our expectations. I think it's easy to get confused about the similarities and differences in T1 and T2 physiology and management because T1 diabetics can also have issues with insulin resistance. When Drew says that his blood glucose regulation came into balance when he got his saturated fat to below 10% of his calories, a listener might wonder if that's all they need to do. But there are lots of other factors like visceral and ectopic fat, etc. etc. Thank you Drew and Rich! ~ Marian Blum
People also need to understand, when going from a typical standard American diet to a Whole Foods plant-based diet, they’re changing their gut biomes/gut flora, from Acidic to PH, and this can often cause some digestion issues at first, that is until your body/gut biome, adjusts. This adjustment happens as the organisms in the gut change as your diet changes. Also, our bodies heal more easily when out gut health (because of our diet), is in a PH state, vs being in an Acidic state (which occurs because of continually eating meat -from my understanding).
Interesting. In US blood glucose is measured in double or triple digits. Ideal fasting levels between 70-100mg/dL. When he said 3-5, I had to go look up what he meant!
I appreciate the discussion about CGM. I have thought about it a lot but decided not to do it because I don't want to become too obsessive about my diet and lifestyle. I do everything I can to be healthy including eating a WFPB diet etc. but I have a tendency to be a bit obsessive about things so I've decided to save myself the stress of monitoring everything and focus more on enjoying my life as well!

You do know that information already exist right? What do you think humans thrived on for millions of years? There is not one culture, tribe, etc in the world who are complete vegans. None. Veganism is less than a 100 years old, created by the 7 day Adventists group who believed eating meat increases sexual drive. Then it was later used as a marketing strategy(by Kellogs, the guy who created cereal) to sell more grains and crap food because the sales of grains were declining. On doesn't need "studies" What is needed is common sense and asking the right questions. Want data on the origins of the vegan diet look into Melinda Fettkes. She did extensive research on this. I was a vegetarian/vegan for a long time. I bought into all the marketing talk of veganism, until I started with one question, what is the origin of veganism. The key to being informed is not clinging on to a belief when new information comes in that not supports it. Btw, epidemiological "studies," which all the vegan ones are, are not science based. They are surveys/questionaires.@@chiyerano
I have issues with histamine. Many plant-based foods I had to eliminate. I'm not carnivore only, but do eat meat. I have a much easier time eating meat than spinach and some other plant-based food. I love avocado and citrus, but can't have either (along with many other foods). But I do have avocado on ocassion, just has to be very limited on how often. My point is, not everyone can tolerate plants as easily as some.
@@Amshatelia88no, I've never tried seitan and don't care for tofu. I tried tofu many years ago, before the histamine issue started, so not sure if I had any reaction to it. If I did, I wouldn't have known it was from that.

I'm the same, but went carnivore because I had multiple deficiencies thanks to my supposed very health wholefood plant based. No manner of "elimination" focused diets, plants or otherwise, have ever made a material difference long term in managing my type 2 diabetes. Avoiding a calorie surplus and sufficient exercise is the game changer. Makes going to dinner parties easier too.
Very interesting. Great guest. Drew was actually observing first hand the long term negative effects of a keto diet. On the public fear of carbs issue, this is why McDougall references the Kempner rice diet which was used to treat type 2 diabetes successfully. Kempner's diet included white rice, sugar, fruit and fruit juices. It was low in fat, low protein and low cholesterol. If low carbers were right, how was it that this high carb/ low fat diet worked in reversing type 2 diabetes?
Type 1 diabetic here. I think I’m doing Ok, still have some bad moments here or there but overall happy with how I’m managing it. I find for me that I manage my condition best AND am overall happier when I’m consistently lifting heavy , getting 3-4 cardio sessions in a week and playing sports that I enjoy. I don’t follow any particular diet , or at least one with a name , I just try to get a lot of protein and try to eat a wide variety or whole foods (although I’m not afraid to treat myself 😂) I was diagnosed 12 years ago , spent the first 10 years doing daily finger pricks and multiple daily injections. Now I have a CGM and a pump and it’s a game changer for me. To any other diabetics out there. Or parents of diabetics as well ( that can be crazy tough) Just keep going! Do what works for you and remember you (or your T1D child) can live the life you want to live and achieve anything a non diabetic can , it’s just that it’s going to look a little different. Peace ✌️
As mum to a T1 teenager, this was very interesting to me, my son was diagnosed at 11. I remember taking him to a school trip to a swimming pool, it was end of May, I was shocked when he took his clothes off, on how skinny he was. I even took him to the doctor…Now, 5 yrs later he still has not accepted it yet. Very hard for me to say anything about his diet :( Don’t know what Drew has to say about it, maybe I will chase him if doesn’t answer here. What I don’t like in the WFPB community is that a lot of people in it seem very militant on fat in general, not only saturated. As a Southern Italian, my region is one of the biggest producers of olive oil. Now I hear all these UA-camrs repeating how olive oil is bad for you, that has no nutrients, just because all these American doctors WFPB are saying it. Doctor Longo who is Italian is clearly not saying that extra virgin olive oil is bad. Well, it’s really hard for me to believe it. My question to Drew is what is in his mind the percentage of unsaturated fat considered acceptable. 20%? Do higher doses of unsaturated fat get in the way of insulin sensitivity? Clearly understand that saturated fat does. But unsure about unsaturated fat and in the video he keeps mentioning that saturated fat being the problem. Thanks
oils are inflammatory, we don't need them, we need to consume a small handful of nuts, and/or a bit of avocado, olives, 10% of fat in our daily caloric income are enough, plus in the case of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, we need to avoid too much fat, particularly saturated fat. Listen to dr Neal Barnard or Caldwell Esselstyn for example.
@@captainpawpawchannel that’s I what I was referring to. I am sorry but I don’t believe it. I am not talking about canola oil and similar and not even about olive oils that you don’t know where they are coming from. I am talking about oils of high quality and rich in polyphenols. I had my olives trees and we used to mill our oil, I know how it tastes. Coming from a place where people know where food is coming from, still forage for wild vegetables and fruits, this extra virgin olive thing is a no sense and a big chunk of people of the WFPB community repeat it as a mantra that is a poison. I avoid saturated fat but I will keep using my extra virgin olive oil in moderation. I already listened to these doctors, I even like Dr Barnard, but I also listen Dr Longo, that is closer to my culture. In the end, I think who got it right is Micheal Pollan: Eat food, not too much, mostly plants. ✌️
@@Franciuk Actually it makes no sense to consume processed food as our ancestor didn't consume any, plus it has been shown that oils are inflammatory, and that we only need 10% fat in our caloric income, or even less
@@FranciukI am Spanish, the first world producer of olive oil in the world. I was raised eating only olive oil in all kind of traditional recipes. And the high consumption of olive oil nowadays os not what my ancestors or Mediterranean people ate at all. They ate mostly low fat dieta by actual standards in Spain, Italia, Greece, because olive oil is an expensive product, as it was meat, or even fruit majority of time. So certain amount can be even useful, of course tasteful, but a real Mediterranean diet has no as much olive oil as I ate.
You can be plant based and reverse diabetes. You can be carnivore and reverse diabetes. One doesn’t negate the other. Both diets require the elimination of processed foods to reverse type 2 diabetes. I choose a carnivore diet.
1:30:00 To clarify, in Australia from 1 July 2022, CGM subsidies (through NDSS - Govt funded) were expanded to cover all Type 1 diabetics, but not other types (eg not Type 2, Type 3c), thereby disregarding others on insulin (where the risk of hypos are an issue), & other medical issues where CGM's can be a significant asset with tracking glucose levels (eg chemotherapy drugs, glucose based IV's, corticosteroids, etc). And I think CGM subsidies should be extended to include the elderly that may need help with carers & healthcare workers tracking their glucose levels remotely, in realtime (ie using apps). Personally I think CGM's should be given to everyone just diagnosed with diabetes, for at least a fortnight, to learn the impact of diet, exercise/activities, sleep, medications etc on their personal health. It's a massive learning curve for many.
@@cmuir6757 Yes, CGM: 'Continuous Glucose Monitoring', NDSS: 'National Diabetes Services Scheme' (administered by Diabetes Australia, eg government subsidised CGM devices, blood glucose test strips, needles / syringes, pumps, etc). Diabetes meds (eg insulin) are heavily subsidised through Medicare. Then there are diabetes educators & dietitians provided through Community Health services.
Type 3c Diabetes (Pancreatogenic Diabetes) is when the pancreas stops producing enough insulin due to an illness or condition that affects or damages the pancreas (eg Pancreatic Cancer, surgery, etc). So this can be very different to Type 1 or 2.
Glucose based IV: ie intravenous administered. Some IV medications need to be preceded by a glucose IV drip &/or are glucose based. You can imagine what this does to a diabetic's blood glucose levels, but having a CGM on, you don't have to imagine ;)

I’m 35 today and plant based for 2,5 years now. Before that I was a believer of the keto diet. If YOU are a keto-bro’, just make the switch man. Your future you will thank you. I’m stronger than my 23 year old self, I lift more, I run faster, I look leaner. The food is more delicious (though it takes a few months to learn some new cooking). On top of it, ALL THE RESEARCH and all the world’s governmental health agencies are backing up whole food plant based diets. You don’t need to live in a world where everything is a conspiracy and everyone’s been lying to you. Join the side of the research and feel better than ever.

It's so ironic how this whole idea of eating innocent baby animal body parts that somebody else killed for you is somehow manly. Anyways great talk between you two! Drew is really flowing well here.
It doesn’t come from the actual act of killing the animal. It comes from how meat supports a healthy human hormonal system that allows a man to develop properly (and also a woman to develop feminine features properly)

I love the constant debate about these diets! It’s entertaining. I employ all 3 diets and dropped my body fat to 9% from 17%. Here’s the only diet that a person needs: Reduce all sugar as much as possible. That includes honey, agave, maple syrup, etc. Reduce fruit consumption by almost as much. A piece of fruit every 2 or 3 days is fine. Stop consuming ALL seed oils. And last, it’s redundant but don’t eat processed food. Processed foods have both sugar and seed oils. Period! Full stop. Eat natural food, and don’t eat fruit every day.

Randle effect anyone?! 🤔🤔🔬 If you consume significant amounts of both carbohydrates and fat, they will both cross-inhibit each others intake and utilisation. This is problematic and leads to the construct of “insulin resistance” over time. If you alleviate one of these macro sources, the problem will resolve. This is why carnivore/low carb works and this is also why WFPB low fat also works (for the time being). The problem is mixing macronutrients largely. There are other issues with eating in these ways that one needs to be cognisant of too. Also, I feel like they weren’t clear enough about highlighting that T1D and T2D are different conditions, the latter being caused by eating improperly, rather than by genetic absence of insulin production. The issue with reintroducing carbs on keto is not an issue. It’s a physiological adaptation because of the lack of carbs in the diet. If one were to increase carbs slowly they would regain glucose tolerance and pass a glucose tolerance test (“physiological insulin resistance”). That’s not the same as the pathological “insulin resistance”.
I agree that plant based is an ideal ... aggressive advocacy, and false information is not a vegan's friend ... if you alienate small farmers who aren't factory farmers you aren't doing animals any favours. By spreading falsehoods in your cause, you hurt your cause. Spreading the truth works ...

Isn't it interesting how so many Filipinos have diabetes. Why is that? Is it from the rice?

@Jeffs60 I think it's from the high carbohydrates, rice. Philippines eat a lot of meat, pork and fish. Pork is the most popular meat in the world. Rich Roll has played a very incredible roll in my life w/ his podcasts on plant-based eating. I thank him from my heart.
Yay!

@@mickilicyes5399 I did listen. Excellent conversation, gentlemen. His was the best description of type 1 diabetes I've ever heard. Kudos to those who change to a starchbased vegetarian diet, without dairy and extra oil especially those who have never eaten plants earlier.
In India ( I am 67,a South Indian lady),
until the 80s, we South Indian Brahmins ate a ricebased vegetarian diet with a little dairy but oil was a little extra.

Loved this, mad respect for both of you 🌱

As a side note, I think food waste is an issue we need to address here in the USA.

Very interesting. Great guest. Drew was actually observing first hand the long term negative effects of a keto diet.
I don’t follow any particular diet , or at least one with a name , I just try to get a lot of protein and try to eat a wide variety or whole foods (although I’m not afraid to treat myself 😂)
I was diagnosed 12 years ago , spent the first 10 years doing daily finger pricks and multiple daily injections.
Peace ✌️
I find it fascinating that freezing bread then toasting it decreases the GI of it. I do this with sourdough rye. It seems to work.
Very hard for me to say anything about his diet :(
Don’t know what Drew has to say about it, maybe I will chase him if doesn’t answer here. Thanks
I wouldn‘t be concerned about olive oil. The Mediterranean diet has one of the best health outcomes.
oils are inflammatory, we don't need them, we need to consume a small handful of nuts, and/or a bit of avocado, olives, 10% of fat in our daily caloric income are enough, plus in the case of type 1 or type 2 diabetes, we need to avoid too much fat, particularly saturated fat.

You never reverse diabetes on a carnivore diet. You simply mask the symptoms of it. The long-term complications are still brewing in the background.
And importantly the Randle effect don’t forget
Could you possibly spell out what CGM is? And other acronyms.

I'm an RN and my last keto patient kept insisting her keto diet was a cure, as she was on about 150 units of insulin and climbing a day, and her blood sugar was staying over 250. She was completely resistant.
I’m an RN and I can sympathize… no one believes that keto is unhealthy. They’re all so brainwashed
BS. Eat fruit every day folks
Thank you! I've been so confused lately with all the conflicting information on which diet is the best, but these simple rules have stayed consistent!
ssssh..its actually science who creates all the problems, total cult thing!. Imagine, people knew much less 100 years ago and they were much stronger, and now we are overwhelmed by science that tells its this and that and changing all the time opinions, it actually fools people, and there are lots science nut heads who think they are following the right things... ohh not,.. Seems as humans dont have middle path, we go extremes with either diets, only meat, only veggies why just eat balanced diet?
Love 💕 it
Bravo 👏
wow ..that insulin scare and keto must have been absolutely terrifying/
Plant based for the win……every time!

What are good Soy and Tofu substitutions? I have an allergic reaction when I eat Soy, so I can’t eat those two products. -Thank you.
Seitan, mung beans, lentils, chickpeas, etc. You can make tofu with many of these actually. It can be as easy as cooking red lentils and pouring them into a cake pan and letting it cool before cutting it up into squares of "tofu".
Beef, chicken, fish, eggs, whey protein. The best and most nutritious, you don't want mashed up slop.

No thanks, after 50 minutes it just became vegan echo chamber content, that's the only reason Rich has this guy on. Seems like at first it's science but as you get further into the conversation this guy is simply putting his emotions before health. @@annoyingbutmorallyconsistent
Who is Simon? What book where you talking about? Thank you
I think you have Simol Hill in mind and his podcast.
masculinity to me, as a woman, is protecting the vulnerable who have no voice or strength to protect themselves, children, some women, all animals, disabled people, bullied men
men who defend and protect are men in my eyes , men who don't protect and only think of themselves... are children in my eyes, spoilt children who through their un-consciousness cause a tremendous amount of suffering ...women who don't care about the suffering of the vulnerable are also quite terrifying to me and un feminine...love, care, protection..this is beautiful..selfishness is ugly ❤
I don't know Drew, U said you were not receptive to an "aggressive" advocacy for animal rights yet the first story U recall was the so called aggressive one. U felt it was aggressive but it was just a fact that placed your dissonance at the time, right in front of you to see. Thanks for speaking for animal rights and ethics here a little as it's too often skirted around and not enough plant based people speak up for the massive ethical emergency happening to trillions of animals every year.
Randle effect anyone?! 🤔🤔🔬
If you consume significant amounts of both carbohydrates and fat, they will both cross-inhibit each others intake and utilisation.
Amazing podcast… you did trigger some carnivores in the comments 😅
Plant based diet gave me pancreatitis and pre diabetes
at 1:06 it's timestamped as "debunking myths about grains" but during that segment there was absolutely no debunking at all.
Does anyone know which Michelle McMacken video that was mentioned? I want to watch it.
Oooooh this is going to be good.

A voice of sanity. Very informative for a soyboy. Info can be applied by an omnivore. Eatting my Nato at this moment.🙏🏻👹🏊♀️🏋🏻
I agree that plant based is an ideal ... aggressive advocacy, and false information is not a vegan's friend ... if you alienate small farmers who aren't factory farmers you aren't doing animals any favours. By spreading falsehoods in your cause, you hurt your cause. Spreading the truth works ...
here we go
Great. I just wish the host hadn't interrupted the guest so frequently - and usually at length!
I'm really sorry, but people in the Blue Zones eat very animal based foods... goats, pork, sheeps, a looot of cheese, not that much carbs... and as someone mainly plant-based myself... I was shocked too...! sorry to disappoint! 🤷♀️
@@MB10097 Sadly, that is not true... and trust me, I'm with you on this one and wish that was the case! I loove my fruits and veggies 😊 But these people rely mainly on their animals, in Ikaria they eat nose to tail and goat's brain and organs are their delicasy. I wish I could share some links here but it's not possible on youtube anymore so... you will have to search for yourself but honestly, I was shocked too! Because I thought they are mainly plant based too. 😊 You can check Mary Ruddick and her research, she lives in Greece and spent a lot of time in Ikaria and other Blue zones herself. It's fascinating stuff! Especially for someone plant based like myself. 😊🌸

The china study found that the Mongols that lived primarily on horse, sheep, and goat meat and dairy suffered much greater issue than rural farmers that eat produce and grains they grow. Maybe read some more. Obviously they had to eat some meat as supplemented vit b12 wasn't a thing back then. nowadays we have to supplement the animals because they don't even get enough from their diet. @@katherinefiori

I’m grateful for y’all standing up for the true message about plants
I don't understand why anybody ever talks about the fact that this is all about food combination. All of these diets work within their own parameters. Some are better than others and it's not a one size that's all.
In th US cgm are not paid for unless you are insulin dependent i believe, my husband didnt qualify being T2 diabetic diet controlled nor my sis in law being diabetic on oral hypoglycemic.
Who is Simon they refer to?
Simon Hill from The Proof Podcast. He's been on Rich's podcast twice before. He's awesome if you really want to get into the science behind nutrition and WFPB eating.
But you still can’t handle saturated fat without a spike?
Is Rich Roll sponsored by Salomon or ON?
Do alfalfa sprouts and other sprouts sunflower, lentils, wheat help control blood sugar?
Yes!!! Absolutely. And beans have a burning affect that lasts till the next day. Since your body is burning beans 20 hours after you eat them you body is in a thermogentic stasis and your blood sugar is being controlled longer.
I've tried all diets and now carnivore. I believe that as long as you avoid the crap food and sugar you have the battle won. I choose meat because I feel best and I save money and time and I dont like vegetables. I respect everyone's choices.
What about the choice of the animals?
@@annoyingbutmorallyconsistentnature
@@IsitReallyrealreally And? Do you live in the woods and have to hunt for every meal? Or do you live in modern day society with a grocery store on every corner with hundreds of other options?
Hahahaha. It’s not cheaper eating meat. Sorry but you’ve been lied to.
@@annoyingbutmorallyconsistentDo you grow all your own plants grains etc or do you buy from a store ? Plants are living organisms, which means they grow, eat, move, and reproduce, just like humans and animals do.
The fact that you need to bulletproof your diet with all these supplements. Doesn't that just mean the plant based diet is not bulletproof.
You have to "bulletproof" on keto/carnivore with electrolytes, even fiber supplements for some. What's your point?
@@lf7065the point is that any diet which doesn't allow them to eat the foods they were conditioned to like is not worth their time
I was conditioned to pizza and Mac and cheese. Does that make it good.
Me think you brain not so good. U best to try think more better!
And many people follow science and listen all these experts...again middle path is still safest, littlest meats, and whole plant based foods, what is so difficult I dont understand, we need all these "science" lol
@@lf7065you don’t need to supplement with electrolytes, some choose to. You definitely don’t need to supplement with fibre, and very few do. I never see anyone do this so idk where you get that point from.
