Mine looks different, it does not show the "///"s or QNH. No baro no matter how many times I refresh or search. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks. Also,
You’re probably using the Lock control scheme (with blue highlights)? In that case just pick “Selected altitude” or similar off the context menu. As for the iPad, drop by the discord in description and post screenshots perhaps
Is it normal that when you activate managed descent, it descends half heartedly at about 300ft/min until it's about 1000ft lower than cruise, then levels off for 8 minutes, then starts descending at 1200ft/min but dropping airspeed to about 150 knots because it's too close to the destination already ? EDIT: as soon as it turned onto the STAR (still thousands of feet too high) it shut off the AP and accelerated upwards with "TOGA LK" in the annunciator. I had been following your tutorial exactly, using the same route ,same altitudes ,same STAR. The only thing different was the weather and weight. None of this makes sense.
I use open descent in the video. I had the same issue with managed. There’s no STAR on the route in the video, so I’m guessing you meant final approach. In which case, TOGA LK thing is probably just the airplane activating a go around (perfectly normal if AP is still on upon reaching the runway without LAND activated).
@@TiJayFLY I discovered the cause. If it's not got many miles left to descend in, it tries to decelerate so it can get the best ratio of vertical speed to lateral speed. It goes down to about 150 knots. As it makes the 90 degree turn onto final, it loses enough airspeed that it thinks it's stalling, and that activates the TOGA LK. The way to avoid this is if using open descent, to start it earlier. It then doesn't drop its airspeed so much. I also worked out that managed descent doesn't behave properly without Z values entered on the second INIT page. That was why it wasn't getting low enough.

Hey
I am new to MSFS2020 and i have airbus TCA pilot controller. My question is why Thrusters wouldn’t go to TOGA position in the airbus neo V2 but stops at FLEX every time. But all other planes go to TOGA except V2.
Is it my controller damaged or bug in the new aircraft. I even synchronized my Physical thrusters with airbus pad.
Thanks
@@gursewaksingh3740 this may be a better question for the MSFS forums, as it’s possibly a bug.
I’m guessing you still need to select activate appr on fmc
No, you never do in any Airbus. Every necessary step is shown in the video, nothing is omitted. You do need to press APPR on the AP panel as you turn onto final, but this is clearly shown.
Does it work much differently on Xbox do you know. I just tried following this from la palma to fuertaventua and was a disaster 😂😂😂😂
@@kennyragerz0812 it’s the same - so there is probably some issue or mistake in your flight plan or procedures. Feel free to join the discord in description and post videos, maybe I can see what’s going on
Everything worked fine, until I was close to GLW. Then the plane went straight off the the course without a notice. AP was on and also approach mode. Very strange. Had to abort the flight.
Feel free to share a video on discord
Could you do a retake on this and enter the airways in between the arrivals and departures please
This video was intentionally kept simple - if you’re using airways I’d recommend Simbrief instead of manual entry really
Can you show the world map setup I understand that world map doesn’t sync etc basics I understand Simbrief etc but cannot get the atc to sync
For some reason the aircraft does make sharp turns to follow the plan but it doesn’t stay aligned with the plan

Great video, but sorry to ask a ridiculous question. I can not get my PFD or ND to start up properly. I'm obviously missing something simple, but could you please enlighten me?!! The ND will show the plan page but not the ARC. The PFD just shows outlines of the information in red....TIA
Are you starting from the runway or a ramp?
@@TiJayFLY I'm doing a cold start from the ramp.
@@paulk1811 that’s entirely different. Follow the cold and dark start tutorial (also on my channel). This video is from a runway start (so engines are on).
Ah ok, perfect, I'll watch your other tutorial, thanks for all your help!
Do you have to apply the reverse thrusters once you land?
@@the_plane_guy4 you don’t have to, if you’re confident you can stop with brakes alone. It’s not automatic, so if you do need reversers, they have to be applied manually.
Help, when I turn on the plane's power, a straight line appears in the ND without having set a flight plan, and even if I set waypoints the AP will follow that straight line

Thanks for this video, excellent! I do have a couple of questions. At 5:25 when you start decent - you show having a down arrow on the mouse. I have tried about 50 different angles - mouse button presses - from the top, from the bottom, etc. I never see that down arrow, just left click, right click, center click. I managed to get an actual vnav decent only once out of about 30 tries, and I'm afraid I don't remember what I clicked. Ugh.... Also, at 4:35 you look at the iPad thing...
As for the iPad, drop by the discord in description and post screenshots perhaps

how can i stop the autopilot from beeping at me after landing?
@@GotSpaceGame I use the AP toggle key on my joystick
I find v2 harder to flyby wire 😂 for some reason I can’t make it follow my routes 😅
@@barthvapour yup, INIT B is required for managed descent which in turn requires a cold and dark start
Does the V2 have auto landing as well as there are confusions on Whether it needs manual landing or it has autoland like default

Tried turning on approach on g/s and AP1 and 2 but the plane doesnt descend lower than my set altitude. It should lower my plane automatically.
You need to activate approach before the glideslope. If you’re too high on the slope when you activate approach, the airplane won’t descend at an unsafe vertical speed to catch it. This is correct behaviour
This might be better than flybywire
