- I've eaten pawpaws, but I've never seen the tree. I am in the process of turning my property into a food forest and want to grow pawpaw. So, I went searching for ripe paw paw fruits to plant seeds and grow my own.
I have tried paw paw once and have been wanting to get my hands on some since. 😂
Yeah, it is a special fruit and the difficulty of getting them and the short season makes them even better. I’ve planted some paw paw trees on my property, but it will be 5+ years before I have any fruit.
I am from pakistan and i love watching your videos. I had never heard of this fruit before. 😆
I appreciate it. It is delicious but very local to the US. I bet Pakistan has lots of fruits I’ve never heard of 😆
@@TylerLloyd HAHAHAHA true
This is interesting. These look to be very different from what we in Australia know as Pawpaw which are much larger and orange when ripe. Pawpaw here is a tropical fruit and has lots of small seeds in a central cavity, kind of like a cantaloupe (which we call Rockmelon).
Ah, yes, we call those papayas here. I love papayas, if just right, but find you really need to live in or very near a tropical environment to find a good one.
ive been on a pawpaw kick of late. and waiting for the mayapples. i wasnt aware the poisonous mayapple plant produces a little apple that is poisonous until its ripe, then becomes safe to eat. but not the seeds. im very interested in wild fruit
Same! I found a patch of Mayapples near my house. I may relocate some closer, but eagerly awaiting the fruit to be ripe.
