I liked more when she spoke to the dothraki, asking them to fight for her and conquer the seven kingdoms. That speech is the most powerful scene i believe, i feel chills everytime i watch that scene and i turn full volume🤭🤭

Dany was and still is the best choice for ruling the 7 kingdoms. You have to have a strong ruler to keep the 7 kingdom together and set a foundation for the next ruler
She clearly turned mad just like her father though. I thought she was the best candidate too, until the final two episodes.
If you’re talking about her during the sacking of kings landing, you’re wrong, she went nuts, and talked of war spreading to winterfell and dorne, and Sansa didn’t like her. She unfortunately had to go. Now dany before she arrived in Westeros was in my opinion, a good strong ruler.

I love Dany and clearly from *the beginning* she would’ve been perfect to rule. I 100% agree, and I hate when people say she went “mad” she didn’t go mad until the end. She didn’t go mad like her father or her ancestors.. she went through so much trauma. She was told as a woman she could never rule, she was sold, assaulted, lost her child, then lost 2 of her dragons, lost her best friend Missandei and Jorah Mormont and I’m sure I’m forgetting much more, but any of those things even separately (though she had to endure ALL) are completely traumatizing. Not to mention she finds out Jon is actually Aegon, her cousin??? She snapped, and we all know any other ruler would have too. They all had families so I will not stand for anyone to say a female ruler has too many emotions, so do men. (You saw it with Jon Snow & the battle of the bastards) but anyway, kings landing had it coming. If Cersei or Olenna or even Sansa, had gone what she went through I’m almost positive they would’ve done the same. Regardless, after everything Dany went through, they trashed her character and burning Kings Landing in the end didn’t align with her at all. It’s sad because she could’ve been the greatest ruler of Westeros
Cap. Jon was. The whole story is about him being the prince that was promised. Show runners just jacked up the end. All he wanted was to save his people. Can't ask for a better King. Meanwhile Dany started a bar b q in kings landing.....naw boss, she ain't it.
To think we met her as this silent 14 year old girl and she learned her new people’s language and customs to eventually create this massive army. What a woman

There's one scene missing. Possibly the second most badass after the Unsullied acquisition. At least top 3 of all. That moment when she rose from the ashes with the newborn dragons is a vision I'll never forget.

Even today I still think it's goddamn crazy how fast that whole situation turned during the Unsullied acquisition-- she went from coming across as an incompetent buyer and selling one of her most valuable assets, to getting everything she wanted and losing absolutely nothing in the process. Badass. XDXD
Only ultimately, she failed to keep the one aspect of herself that separated her...that kept her from being like the same tyrannts she fought against...

Drogo was Drogon. Can't change my mind Drogo promised to give Khaleesi the world and Drogon was the strongest and the ONLY dragon of hers to survive and in the end Drogon took her body and flew off.

Maybe she did! Last report, according to King Bran, indicated Drogon was flying Dany toward Volantis, home of witches including Minerva. She had one stab wound vs Jon’s 6 or 7. Easier surgery!!

Emilia Clark she made Daenerys Targaryen a legend, and she made the Targaryens look powerful, I still think she deserved that iron throne, even I shouted "yessssssssssssssssssss" in her speeches
No, she didn't bc she wasn't the prince that was promised, which was literally the entire plot of the story. Aegon, aka Jon snow is the rightful heir, not this crazy woman who is unable to control her emotions
Queen Daenerys EARNED the Iron throne. Queen, Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen WORKED hardest for the Iron throne. Queen, Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen DESERVED the Iron throne. Queen, Khaleesi, Storm born, Daenerys Targaryen WAS the Iron throne. No other character was more powerful. No other character exuded power like Queen, Khaleesi, Daenerys she was legendary. The character became too powerful for the writers so they devised a phony plot to kill off the character that just didn't sit right with the entire series plot line. Queen, Khaleesi, Daenerys should have sat the throne. Jon Snow a.k.a Mr. Boring was expendable. When he died the 1st time they should have left him dead.

She was just a product in the beginning, but then she became a powerful leader who cared about her people. I still feel bad that the writers turned her into a bad/crazy person
I wish people would stop saying she was always mad because that was NOT the direction. I was fine with Dany dying and maybe Jon becoming king but I hated the way they ended it.
It was written for her to go mad. The book dictates. The directors just had piss poor application

Dany was a strong, compassionate leader. The writers completely botched it by having her cruelly slaughter the innocent inhabitants of King' Landing just to accelerate the end of the story.

When the dragons started to act differently with her, that's when i feel like she started to lose herself, it's they could feel it.Then the dothraki kidnapped her and she somewhat remembered what she wanted to do from the beginning, but it already started. Even Missandei gave a hint when she said" i have seen you rely on your counselors' experiences when yours was lacking and i have seen you ignore ur counselors bc you knew that there was a better way". Which literally stop to do everytime they brought up her father, she was so scared to not become like him that she left the thinking to the others entirely. Last, she shouldn't have left Dario behind.
The fact that she rosed from nothing but a mere woman with just the last name Targaryen who was sold off as a bride to this🔥

Had she listened to Olenna and ignored Tyrion, she would not have lost all of her allies, including Missandei and therefore not “gone mad”
She clearly could have just taken kings landing with her 3 dragons and then marched all the armies north to help with the night king. Then ALL would have to bend the knee. She did everything backwards because Tyrion was trying to save his brother and sister. He is the reason she lost it all. They destroyed the strongest character in the series yet Sansa who did nothing but cry the entire time got to be queen (which cost her fathers head in the first place leading to the destruction of the north). Pathetic writing.

Perhaps poor writing in a fantasy story. However, I would argue you to you that art - in this sense - imitates real life. It is rarely the truly deserving who end up leading. It is almost always the corrupt, the weak, or the easily swayed who do. So that those behind the scenes, with the real power, can get what they want.

This series and the character of Daenerys seem so good. I've heard so much horror about the final season. I've read a little from the second book, of Daenerys crossing across the desert. Seems like such an epic character.

Yes all the horror you’ve heard about season 8 is true, they did a terrible job and ruined Danny’s character in my opinion. If I were you, I’d stop at the end of season 7

In my opinion, her actions in the last season are very justified. I don't want to spoil whatever season you're at but take these into consideration: she has been underestimated since she left her homeland and she always had to prove herself in order for people to believe in her. The sacrifices she made for her so-called allies have gone, for the most part, unappreciated. Her trust has been constantly broken and people have told her time and time again that she is either insane or not capable. Imagine that someone told you since you were young that your family has a great inheritance somewhere and that it belongs to you by law, wouldn't you try to take it, regardless of the hardships? And yet, other no-name families claim the same right and try to eliminate you in the process. Taking all of this into consideration, I stand with all of her actions, even if some were less ethical than others. However, the other main characters did so much worse!

The showrunners forgot that they already knew she'd turn psycho eventually and didn't make that clear enough. That's why the ending sucked so much. They knew we'd want her to WIN the fucking game of thrones and they weren't brave enough to confess that this was never gonna happen, until the very end.

I feel like a story of Daenerys' downfall due to her getting impatient once reaching Westeros and not showing any of the same behaviours that got so many to follow her while she was at her lowest could have been a good one. It's just a shame the entire rest of the story was rushed, so that aspect wasn't explored properly.

One of the regrets I have in GOT (which I love regardless) is how the Dothraki were basically wasted, given away without a thought, without any homage paid to how noble and loyal they were to Khaleesi. Having them ride across the dark field towards the white walker army and disappear into oblivion without so much as a whimper doesn’t give justice to the part they played in the overall story. They were given away just as a nameless character in a bar fight scene where the hero of the story does away with all of the unnamed bar patrons are. I understand how they wanted to convey how overwhelmingly powerful the army of the dead was, but I think the Dothraki deserved a more fitting send off then flaming swords quietly disappearing in the fog of war. An underwhelming end to a proud and noble warrior people.
