Are you making a video about every character, because if you are then I'm watching them all. I didn't like Dany but season 8 did her dirty, and this video it's great. Dany was such a complicated character that I both loved, and hated, but was sad to see the shit writing they did for her in the past season. The moment she died the show completely died with her, in my opinion she was the one holding it all together she had the most interesting journey besides Jon’s and when they killed her off I just felt empty from there on, nothing else mattered to me no one’s storyline became that important anymore.
I couldnt agree more. As much as I disliked how the writers got her to that point, the whole finale fell apart after her death. The fire was gone, the passion, I literally stuck around for it cause I was still invested in her.

you see, cersei was an evil woman and daenerys was always shown in a positive light. daenerys was a character who showed mercy and had a gentle heart. so it's bloody hard to see someone as good as daenerys destroy a whole city, burn down thousands of innocents. Ity's like you do all good for years and you do one bad thing and people notice it because it wasn't expected of you. We can't compare, both were mad in the end. Cersei died thinking she will win all, she had everything done to defeat any and she died an evil woman just as she lived. Dany on the other hand died a mad woman but she lived a gentle and just ruler

Remember when Dany was totally unique Targaryen? Remember when she was merciful and just for like 7 seasons? I remember. They ruined her whole character within 2 episodes
They needed at least 2 or 3 more seasons to build it, pure laziness ruining a character in minutes. It was so stupid.
She has always been a merciless dragon. But, I agree, the waking of the Targaryan dragon happened far too quickly. With even 10 episodes in the season they could have adapted it to be more justified. The merciless actions makes sense, but it happened too fast
7 seasons and 1/2. She literally only became unmerciful in 2 episodes.

Honestly if the show got cancelled I'd be happier than the ending we got. She didn't deserve to go mad, she deserved to rule while sitting on the iron throne with her 3 dragons. I don't accept whatever happened since season 7 with her or her dragons. I'd rather she defeated the white walkers and night king without losing her dragons. For her to win over westeros, kings landing without taking civilian lives and bringing justice to whatever injustice was done to her. The writers just ruined it and it still hurts me 3 years later. I was so attached to her!
And who had a better story than Bran? Daenerys Targaryen! Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons, the true heir to the Iron Throne.

@@marcshimpar7645 Characters throughout the series have sacked cities and murdered innocents all over the place. Robb ordered his men to rape and pillage their way through the Westerlands in order to "pay Tywin Lannister back with his own coin."
That kind of standard medieval warfare is totally different than the decision to murder an entire city of innocent people for no reason after the city has surrendered.
The fact that the show makes Dany a mass murdering psychopath proves absolutely nothing. The show has completely misrepresented every single character in the series - why should we assume it's representing Dany in a fair way now when it never has before?
Just because some plot points are going to be similar doesn't mean the characterization will be. Every single character in the show has been twisted into some funhouse version of themselves so D&D can validate their own moral judgements about the book characters.
Take Tyrion for example:
In the books, Tyrion pledges to kill Jaime, Cersei, and Tywin. He murders Shae - it's not self defense. He goes to Essos and rapes a few slaves, hoping that he can make them hate him as much as he hates himself. He convinces fAegon to sail his Golden Company army to Westeros because he wants to see the world burn down. Then he goes to Dany, intent on doing the same thing, and he asks that in return for his service he should be allowed to rape and kill his sister.
In the show, he's a funny dwarf. He goes to Dany because gee-whiz he just wants to make the world a better place - isn't that great? He drinks and he knows things! He also make dick jokes to Varys. LOL!!
I'm sure they got some plot points correct, but the characterization is comically off-mark.
Dany's not going to be a villain in the books any more than Tyrion is going to be a hero. George writes grey characters, but D&D have simplified everyone down to cardboard "good guys" and "bad guys" based on which ones they like and dislike. Not to mention D&D retconned Dany's entire character in season 8.

Daenerys was never mad and this season ruined her. But let’s never forget the character George R R Martin created which was someone who inspired the masses. We love you Daenerys, first of Your name, Queen of the Andals, Rhoynar and the First Men. Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, Khaleesi of the The Great Grass Sea, the unburnt, the Breaker of Chains and the Mother of Dragons... and now the Breaker of the Wheel.
But what of mental illness?
So she will definitely be mad in the books too it's already been pretty much confirmed through GRRM interviews lol. Don't like it, don't read it. BUT I do really want to point out that she didn't break the wheel. Honestly, I am curious to know if Bran is a good guy or how well he sees the future. The wheel isn't broken, because the lords of westeros will never get to "Choose" a king. The last 3 eyed raven lived thousands of years lol.
@@WickedKiss Nope, she will be going dark and ruthless just like the other main characters in the next book. One of the main issue is that the show equates ruthless ambition with madness. I think in the books Daenerys is going towards a path of being so ruthless that she is called mad (by her enemies) but that she is never mentally ill like her father was. Making her mad take away all her agency as a character and reduces the weight of her choices as something "she couldn't help doing because she's crazy."
@@WickedKiss So unless they made a completely different character I'm pretty sure that the 3 eyed raven in show is still the 3 eyed crow from the books, aka Brynden "Bloodraven" Rivers who hasn't been alive for thousands of years, only for like 125 and that was probably because he was fused to that tree. So I imagine as Bran is just some regular crippled dude that he will eventually die of old age, at which point a king or queen will be chosen by the lords of Westeros. So Dany didn't break the wheel, she just replaced it with a slightly more democratic version.

Man, could you imagine? If Dany had just trusted her own instincts and attacked King's Landing before she had any reason to snap, she would have probably been the only ruler in history to have support not just from Westeros, but from Essos as well. Her influence would have spanned continents
if they decided to simply defeat cersei then and there they would have had an easier time with the night king too

Honestly I’m not mad at any characters in the show. Not Dany for being an arrogant psycho at the end or Tyrion being moronic. Neither made any sense at all and I’m only mad at the writers

As nice as it would be to see Daenerys come back. I dont think she will. I think Drogon is taking her back to Valeria. He lost his mother and brothers and he just wants to grieve in peace. I also like the theory that Drogon was taking Daenerys back to Drogo and her son so they can go to the afterlife together.

She lost her dragons, Missandie and others she trusted like Jorah and all died. Jon betrayed her along with his sisters and tyrion. She was indeed all alone in the end.

Except for the fact she didn't care about them, only about herself. That everyone betrayed her is what she deserved, because Daenerys was always exposing ideas that she never cared in the first place.

I'm just saying that GRRM gave D&D his ending. The way to get there is different ofc but the big story points are the same. So Dany will turn also mad in the books. Are you really saying, GRRM didn't understand his own character? I believe many fans just didn't want to understand what she really was. Many people are saying her character development was butchered but honestly: Which development do you mean? It almost sounds in your messages like season 3 - Dany turned mad. That woul've been strange, I argee. But Dany started during season five to do things that were critical. And in season 7 she also had moments when she cared more for power than for her people. The whole mad queen - storyline was rushed but NOT out of character.

She spends virtually all of ADwD sitting down in Meereen explicitly to solve those problems - even with a third of her advisors saying to abandon it to go to Westeros, another third telling her to abandon the peace and kill all the enemies, and the last third telling her to abandon her ideals and go for the full on peace/acceptance of Meereen's former culture.
She's a good administrator, she's shown to care about the people in a lot of ways, listens to criticism, etc.
Show Daenerys is different, because they took basically all her decisions and control and gave it to her advisors to restrain her with.

The thing that bothers me the most about what they did with Daenerys is that they fell back on the trope of women losing their minds and not being able to handle being in positions of power. I genuinely am so frustrated that the writers looked at this powerhouse of a woman who is literally like no female character we have ever seen on television before, and decided that they couldn't possibly have a woman meet her powerful goals and change the world in a positive way, so they took the cheap way out and randomly had her "go mad" and burn an entire city to the ground. Not only is that incredibly awful writing, but WHEN are we going to stop assuming that women in power can't handle themselves when they experience loss? You LITERALLY couldn't think of a single other thing to do with her?! I'm not asking for Daenerys to be a perfect character. We ALL know she has her flaws. I'm not even saying she had to live through the end of the show, though I would have preferred that. I'm just really frustrated and angry that they fell back on harmful stereotypes about women, and they chose to do it so blatantly with HER. She was a beautiful symbol for those of us who have been raped, abused, lost, beaten down, and been through hell. To see her pick herself up and push for her dreams and a better world was empowering for a lot of people. For the writers to so blatantly say that women who go through things like that couldn't possibly make good rulers is SO FRUSTRATING.

They did it because they wanted to make her the “mad QUEEN”. Idc that she died-honestly, I was hoping that we would get a season 9 where with dany in power she finally does start to spiral out of control and becomes a true tyrant and eventually has to die to “break the wheel”. We couldnt even get that though.

But this is always what bothered me about her claim to the throne of Westeros. The people knew and feared her father. They knew and feared the kings who came after him too. For them,she was only the daughter of a king they remembered well,and she had three massive dragons and an army of strange men. Did she not expect them to fear her,to treat her with suspicion. Did she really secretly wish for them to drink secret toasts to her health as they cried out for their true queen?

i am never ever going to forgive the writers for what they did to my queen Dany, gosh i still get teary eyed thinking about what we all could have witnessed and what sh*t of an ending we got.
If Danny and Jon snow swapped places in this show he would of ended up on the iron throne with his three dragons and that’s just the truth of it.
Dany deserved the Iron Throne more than anyone. Not because of a birthright, but because she earned it, more than anyone else. Instead we got (horrific writing) which turned her into someone she was not. Even despite being betrayed and losing so much, there is NO WAY that our true Khaleesi would have burned an entire city full of innocent people. There was no need, nor did it make any sense whatsoever. She went out of her way not to destroy any innocents when attacking Kings Landing. If she had taken off on Drogon & blasted Cersei in the Red Keep & only the Red Keep after the bells rang. THAT would have made perfect sense. Long live the TRUE dragon queen 👑🐉
Yeah exactly, her burning the entire city didn't make any sense, it would've been better that she burnt Cersei alive even after she surrendered and then we could've understood her rage but an entire city, that's totally not Daenerys.

The last season broke me. I loved Dany since the very first episode. She inspired me so much. Her strenght and her compassion always made me believe that she was the one who truly deserved to sit on the Iron Throne. I was so shocked during episode 5 that I didn't even react. I was just staying still and quiet, trying to grasp what was going on. And everytime I hear someone who speaks of her as the Mad Queen, I feel sick to the core. I just feel so sad and betrayed that this character whom I dearly loved and sincerly believed in, ended up that way. This video breaks my heart. It so beautifuly done, and honestly the best tribute of Daenerys I have ever seen. We will never forget her.

You have been deceived: Daenerys was always a bad person: a cruel, messianic, hypocritical and arrogant woman who used libertarian acts as an excuse to commit atrocities towards those who didn't share her vision of the world. Also, she didn't care about the people, only about herself, plus everything she did was for and by the Throne.

The framing of her as the ultimate "take over the world" final-boss villain is not very consistent. Or, true to the book series, at least. Also, the director said recently that her turn was mainly done for the audience. So we could see the brutality of revenge and the destruction of Kings Landing from a character we've come to care for. So, idk.

This could also explain why she was triggered by the sound of bells for she believed the surrender was a
trick by Tyrion conspiring with Cersei.Especially if Dany had received a message from her unsullied
that Tyrion freed Jaime and they both supposedly defected to Cersei exactly the moment when she was
about to fly to battle.And she actually heard a voice from the city:"Queen we are surrounded! Queen help us!",
which could be misunderstood for a distress signal from her own troops.
So she decided to bombard area ahead her troops to protect them from whatever trap could be.
This caused explosions of Aerys's wildfire which she recognized as if it was wildfire trap indeed
(pseudo wildfire trap theory). And she would genuinly believe that she indeed liberated the
city from a tyrant destroying it with wildfire. Then Daenerys arrests Tyrion for espionage "staring at him with anger,
disgusted that she trusted him so deeply for so long" according to the script.
Ironically Daenerys slaughtered a city only because Tyrion freed his brother.
Just like invasion of White Walkers happened only because Tyrion wanted
to use the White Walkers as a case for parley with Cersei! Daenerys was never mad!

She changed them, but for the worst: When she conquered Yunkai, Meereen and Astapor she left, basically leaving them as worse places than before.
In Westeros she wasn't loved because of her arrogance, lust for power and massive entitlement issues, and because she burnt King's Landing.
Her quotes basically reek of hypocrisy: She speaks about breaking the wheel, yet she is perfectly fine with ruling over others, basically perpetuating the wheel.

She left because she was in danger but wanted to go back immediately, but she got KIDNAPPED by a Khal, and not only did she survive and rise up from that to become Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea (aka of ALL the Khalasars not just one), she came BACK to Slavers Bay which had fallen into chaos with out her there and guess what? She restored the peace. So don't blame her for leaving without even telling the full story. And when she left for Westeros she put Daario in charge so it's not like they had no leader. And your sh*t about the wheel is BS too because she didn't plan to be just another spoke. Having one queen for the Seven Kingdoms that can actually rule and is compassionate is the opposite of the "wheel" that just put different families in different thrones with no end in sight.

What a masterpiece this video is! Brings back memories, Emotions... When the series ended I was disappointed by the ending like any other true fan. I think I was in denial but this show is everything about bitter truths and accepting it no matter how hard it is. When you are so much invested into something it is not just a show for you and it affects you in real-time that's why many of us were devastated by the poor ending. I will accept the fate of first of her name mother of dragons but it is not at all acceptable that Arya killed white walker so easily it felt like all was for nothing... Actually, we all should've understood it we knew what we are getting into since they killed the Ned in the first season...
Why accept what were 2 changes D and D came up to the story that both likely took away from or were different from GRRM's plan. Heck, since there is evidence the earlier plans for season 8 itself were for King's Landing to be destroyed by wildfire (not a dragon) feel free to call out season 8 for the nonsense and character assassination it was. I think daenerys will be for ever in her head. A character you had play so long and intense must stay inside you😅 It's her character for life like Daniel Radcliffe as Harry oder Elijah Wood as Frodo...it can be a blessing or a curse but it stays in their heads I think :)
