Tyler Childers is so popular because he sounds like a human singing about human things for other humans, and not a product singing thematic keywords determined by an algorithm for consumers.
I literally cannot listen to that song without crying. It’s the only song that’s ever made me cry and it does it every time. So touching. Makes me miss my grandmother deeply
I think a lot of people are missing the real genius of the song, he’s weaving between a human and a tree, experiencing the same thing from different perspectives, one seen from the tree and the other from him/someone, and he’s talking about the month of May as both the month of spring and as a woman. It’s insanely brilliant and beautiful.
Im a metal guy. Grew up to the greats, then I found Nose to the Grindstone, Whitehouse road Follow you to Virgie, now this. Tyler made my #1 slot on spotify...thats with 3 songs. This one is my new favorite. Well done reaction. I agree, this man... is special.
So many good songs that you're reviewing. If you want texas rock, Koe Wetzel is the one. If you want mainstream bangers, Morgan Wallen, Ernest, or Hardy. If you want an amazing voice, Charles Wesley Godwin. One of my favorite acts lately is Noah Kahan, who released a great new folk type album. Growing Sideways and Stick Season are the best. Love your videos!
Check out Tyler’s “Nose on the Grindstone” I am lucky enough to live near him. His wife is also an amazing writer and singer. Whenever we are at the same festivals she buys soaps, earrings and jams from my wife. We even helped her walk through setting up her bee hives. Often I get to interact with them personally. Fantastic people, artists, writers and the list goes on.
You need to hear bottles and bibles, hard times, and shake the frost. The live versions from red barn radio. Seriously beautiful with so much meaning and soul. Especially shake the frost. So much imagery in that song
For Tyler Childers, "Shake The Frost" "Feathered Indians" and "If Whiskey Could Talk" are all amazing songs that will give you chills when you hear them. As for Colter Wall, he has so many amazing songs it's hard to decide on one but just a few would be "Bury Me Not On The Lone Prarie" "Cowpoke" "Sleeping on the Blacktop" and his cover of "Big Iron" For the best of both worlds, "Fraulein" is a song with the two of them singing together!
Benjamin Tod, Using Again. Gonna love it. "I wish I was who I appear, 'Cause I despise the man in the mirror The memories I've got torture my head And I don't know God, but I heard he was dead And if I am wrong, in judgement I stand I will not repent, 'cause I don't give a damn"
I’ve been on to Tyler Childers a couple years now and there are a couple of his songs still choke me up. This one, nose to the grindstone and follow you to Verdie.
I’m so glad to see how you reacted to this song. I felt the same way. Keep going down Tyler’s rabbit hole, you won’t be disappointed. Try bottles and bibles, or coming down
I heard this guy in my dive in my dive 2nd to broken window serenade but was. Something like shake the frost off or something. That gave me chills enough to check his whole catalogue
Amen. I've been saying some of the same things about Tyler for so many years now that it seems crazy to see so many people just now getting it. I miss the days when we could go see him and the foodstamps play pretty much any weekend and if it wasn't free it was never more than $15. So many times there was hardly anyone there and overtime the venues started filling up and it became harder to get tickets to see them and now they just sell out. I'll never forget about thier early days and i'll always long to revisit them if that were at all possible.
Hell yea bro been so many great artists on the channel lately, enjoying this rabbit hole you’re going down. keep it up man. Check out some Vincent Neil Emerson “ballad of the Choctaw Apache” that’ll make you feel something
You need to watch Billy Strings "Dust in a Baggie", preferably the video of him playing in his living room. His guitar playing will BLOW YOU AWAY! I really think you would appreciate his talent and songwriting as well as his AMAZING guitar playing. Thanks and love the reactions lately, keep em coming!
Oh man, I'm so glad you're digging Tyler. One of my favorites for sure. Such hollar and passion in his voice and writing. If you need another one to check out I recommend Sierra Ferrell doing a cover of John Anderson's song "Years". Her voice is so unique and beautiful.
Check out space and time, its an incredible cover from by Tyler Childers but it really shows off his voice. Lady may was filmed before he got sober and Space and time was filmed afterwards and you can definitely tell the difference in his voice and mannerisms.
Tyler is I believe one of the top 3 most downloaded country artists on Spotify and Apple Music. He has not toured in the last 2 years and rarely plays shows. The two shows he has scheduled for next summer sold out immediately
Got tickets for Tyler in February. He is really good. One artist worth checking out is John R Miller. His song Coming Down was even covered by Tyler (who himself is a big fan).
Tyler is so amazingly talented. You definitely should check out more of his stuff. I prefer his solo acoustic stuff but its all good. Tyler has a song with Town Mountain called "Down Low". It's definitely worth checking out.
I have enjoyed your venture into country music because you have found the quality stuff. I think you would enjoy Chris Stapleton. Some of his I would suggest are "I Was Wrong", "Cold" and "What Are You Listening To" for a start. He is best with his live performances.
One of his lesser known and most hair raising songs is, The Harvest. My personal favorite because it makes refrence to someone I know well, possibly even myself, is called Honest Work. It is a Riot. The one thing that is never addressed is Tyler's cover of Pink Floyd's "Time." That has to be the single greatest cover in history.
Definitely give Feathered Indians by Tyler Childers a listen to! Absolutely a great song!
I said the same thing a few videos back, it's my personal favorite song. I'm i kinda slay it on Karaoke night.
I agree to this!
Shake the frost by Tyler is super good too it gives me goosebumps so much every time
My favorite song by him!!
I love this one!
my absolute favorite one!’
It’s a great song
he better listen to it. and coal
Tyler Childers is so popular because he sounds like a human singing about human things for other humans, and not a product singing thematic keywords determined by an algorithm for consumers.
Dead Man’s Curve is a lot less known than a lot of these songs but is undoubtedly one of his best.
that and Charleston Girl are my two favorite of his
Shake the Frost or Follow You to Virgie (Live)
Two of the best and most passionate songs by Tyler. The lyricism in both songs is off the charts
10000% dude two of my favorties
Follow You to Virgie makes me think of my grandma and I cry literally every time
Follow You to Vergie isn't just one of Tyler's best songs. I honestly consider it one of the best, most emotional songs I've ever heard.
@@travis9425 I would agree, it is a song of true love and passion and the unfortunate circle of life. Many a young boys can relate to it.
I literally cannot listen to that song without crying. It’s the only song that’s ever made me cry and it does it every time. So touching. Makes me miss my grandmother deeply
“Nose on the grindstone” by Tyler is a good deep down story telling masterpiece and puts out a good strong message to the youth of this generation
he has done that already
You're the only "reaction" person that seems authentic and unrehearsed.

1:23 in the video…… “Damn”
Tyler Childers without a doubt has established himself as irreplaceable in the world of Country and Folk music. 💯
Tyler was my #2 on my Spotify this year and only listened to him for 3 months lol, I managed to play feathered indians almost 100 times
Im a metal guy. Grew up to the greats, then I found Nose to the Grindstone, Whitehouse road Follow you to Virgie, now this. Tyler made my #1 slot on spotify...thats with 3 songs. This one is my new favorite. Well done reaction. I agree, this man... is special.

Its just a man, his guitar, and his voice. Nothing else, but pure raw talent.
This is one of the most romantic songs ever! He wrote it for his wife Senora May. She is an amazing woman.
You need to hear bottles and bibles, hard times, and shake the frost. The live versions from red barn radio. Seriously beautiful with so much meaning and soul. Especially shake the frost. So much imagery in that song

Billy Strings Dust in a Baggie. The original one in his friends basement with the tweakers knee slappin. If you know you know!
I don’t think I usually absorb all the lyrics to songs so your analysis is super additive to the experience man
One of my favourite songs. ❤
Tyler Childers is the savior of country music
Way of Triune God hallelujah version by Tyler Childers is also really good highly recommend
For Tyler Childers, "Shake The Frost" "Feathered Indians" and "If Whiskey Could Talk" are all amazing songs that will give you chills when you hear them.

Tyler’s style of guitar playing is beautifully crafted
Benjamin Tod, Using Again. Gonna love it.
"I wish I was who I appear,
'Cause I despise the man in the mirror
The memories I've got torture my head
And I don't know God, but I heard he was dead
And if I am wrong, in judgement I stand
I will not repent, 'cause I don't give a damn"
Love how much you appreciate every aspect of the music, especially the poetry in the beautiful lyrics. It hits me the same way. 🎶
