Hot damn. Amazing guide. I beat this like 2nd or 3rd try. At the end. Odin and I exchanged blows at low health, we killed each other but the win still counted! PHEW!!
Thanks for this. I had a big trouble with big boy Bahamuto. He was the toughest one for me in this challenge (was trying to kill him for like 3h). In my last round with Odin (first try) I tried my best to pressure him since the very beggining. Everything was going well, until I didn't dodge the aoe thingie and everything went to hell. Cloud died, I revived him with Zack, Zack died. Odin was almost dead but I knew I needed an aeroga to kill him, building those 2 ATB bars without taking damage (cause Cloud was so low on hp) took forever. Finally managed to cast my aeroga and killed him with just the exact amount of damage I believe. It was beautiful. I screamed, I cried, I was shaking like a leaf. Thanks for this guide!!
I have to tell you, I went through multiple guides for this challenge. Optinoob, akhafasu, Syracurse... your guide was the most encouraging among all of them. I'd say the nastiest monsters are Hueyacoatl and Brineborn Demon, as those two may nastily surprise you with a sucker punch. Ironclad wasn't too bad as I had practice fighting it with attrition through Cloud's Solo bout. However, the grandfather of all nasties is Odin. That was the deadliest fight of my life. Odin managed to get Cloud in a combo and killed him, and then as Zack, I had to dodge around to build ATB so I could cast Arise on Cloud. When that happened, Odin took advantage of his distraction to kill Zack, and now Cloud was fighting alone without a safety net. It really was a close fight. Through recasting Prime mode, casting Aeroga and dancing around Odin, I was lucky to build my Limit Break meter. In the end, at the clutch, just after using my Limit Break to neutralize Temporal Imprisonment, Odin had a sliver of health left and I needed to build up one more ATB for Aeroga. I had about 2000 HP left, and as I cast my last Aeroga, Odin did Reprisal, cutting away 1000 HP, but Cloud survived. Victory from the jaws of defeat. With how Zack sacrificed his life for Cloud to narrowly take the win, it truly was the entire character arc of Zack and Cloud in one battle. Bonds of Friendship indeed.
At my wits end with this challenge. I’ve been trying it off and on for 10 days. Twice I’ve been within an Aeroga of killing Odin only to get killed before I could cast it. Most frustrating thing I’ve ever encountered in a video game. It’s literally the only thing missing for the Platinum. Kudos to those that have completed it.

Dude after struggling with this for weeks I finally finished this god forsaken battle. The tips on Odin especially the haste and faith. Also Zack did die but knowing when to thrown the limit break on temporal imprisoment made all the difference. You and Opti are the kings of builds.
Optinoob’s video got me most of the way, but this video has some strats esp with Odin that got me over the finish line. That was a brutal experience but this video helped get me unstuck.
Wow man, I just did this first try with your guide! I was almost dying every fight, pausing for your advice and barely killed Bahamut and Odin. Practicing Odin before is the key! Once I was able to solo him with Cloud on full power, that's the moment I went for Bonds of Frendship. Only hard mode left for the platinum! Thanks for your guides!
Hope you don't mind another huge shoutout, but your guide was 100% the reason I was able to clear this. Concise instructions and a clear goal, plus some practice on my part and I was able to get it done after 2-3 hours. Thank you! Using this, took me a solid week and a half to 2 weeks, but finally got it this morning. Bahahut and Odin were mainly my run killers (although sometimes I'd get over aggressive trying to rush and bosses 2,4, 5 and 6 would get me). I ended up just practicing against Bahamut and Odin at Max Power with just Cloud in the simulator. After I could beat them solo 4 or 5 times in a row, they werent so daunting. Sure enough, a few times trying this challenge later, nailed it. Albeit barely. Accidentally got Cloud stuck on the wrong half of the battlefield near the end. But before Zack got taken out, I managed to Raise Cloud and give him one last manawall. One or two aerogas later I beat him. Stick to it and you'll get there. Now onto the Sephiroth challenge 😂
@Solestro I appreciate it sir! Only took maybe 5 tries for Seph. Though once again messed up on Odin. He got Cloud trapped in that time thing. And Sephiroth had only one MP left. Or did he? Turned out I had just used the synergy ability so his MP was unlimited temporarily. After striking Odin a few times, I used the ATB to fully heal cloud/sephiroth and manawall both just before Odin took could take out the frozen Cloud. He still did take Cloud out sadly, but not before I got off one last aeroga. So they took each other out. Luckily Sephiroth was still standing so we won. Thanks again!
I found that with Odin it's easier to just stay back and build atb with Cloud's ranged wind attack then hit him with aeroga. Also switching characters when you see Odin heading towards you because the cpu controlled character was way better at blocking than I was. Once the aggro is off of you switch back to Cloud and repeat. It might be a little slower but it made the fight super easy after 2 days of attempts trying to parry/block close range.
@@Checkmate_Bro7 I know but some of his attacks are multi hit or are really fast and it's a lot less stressful to just switch off instead of risking it be stuck in an attack animation and unable to block. Just switch/stay away and you don't have to worry about anything.
@@gadarenedemon just defend from his attack it will auto "parry" him the only attack pattern u need dodge is the one with triagle icon attack pink weapon attack cuz if u get hit by pink attack he will do zanten very early
@@aidiruikki a lot of the time I just prime mode through the purple attacks too. He's never knocked me out of level 3 magic so I just tank it and blast him.
Lucky to have found this before I unlocked the challenge! I actually died on the first couple rounds a few times 🤦♂ but after that got through all the later rounds on their first try. Never had a scare with Odin luckily and the trick of how to avoid the Temporal with limit. Totally understand the frustration others have dying in the late rounds over and over. Going to give you a patreon follow for all the hours of my life I would've been retrying this challenge.
Finally did this. Cloud was dead at the end of Odin’s fight, Zack was barely hanging and the boss was SECONDS of calling Zantetsuken, had one last ATB and I decided to risk a lv1 chain slash. Damn that was hard

Then went and attempted the crunch-off with Jules, which tons of people have said is way harder. I beat that on my 3rd attempt lol. Then I spent days… DAYS on the Cloud and Sephiroth challenge, To Be A Hero. I’m talking like a week or something. It was getting me so frustrated that I started just taking breaks from playing it after every attempt. One night I just said screw the game and watched 3 classic James Bond movies lol. I’ve beaten To Be A Hero since then, so all I have now is Bonds Of Friendship. My point in this novel that I wrote here is not to let the game get to you. Take a break from it, relax, do something that destresses you, then come back to it. It’s not a race to the Platinum (despite what the dickheads on Reddit say), so there’s no need to burn yourself out on the game. This Platinum is ridiculous with the shit you’re required to do, after all. You got this!
@@SuperEkkorn ah ok that's a fair amount of minigames. I think it helped me doing them as I was playing the game, plus I really liked the minigames, but the fighting is where it's at. Always keeps you engaged 😁
@Solestro yeah, I know. I found them really invasive on my playthrough, and skipped as much as I could from corel, then heard I'd miss out on story with Barret in CC, did the protorelics there, went back bc I worried I'd missed out on other storybeats, completely killed the pacing, and now I've got all these left and I find them both boring and too hard, so no plat for me. It sucks, I love remake, and enjoyed spending more time there, but here, nah. I'm still interested to try the fights though.
Just beat it with this advice! Odin was the only hard one really. He did the warning when I had barely even hit him and I began sweating bullets the whole rest of the fight. Luckily didnt get hit any more after that and started blasting him with Wind. Thanks!!
Crazy, after wiping over and over again on Titan and Hueyacoatl last night and then losing when I finally made it to Ironclad (don't know why, this guy and Kid G are my Achilles heel) like 10 times I hopped on today and cleared it all in one go, first time facing anything past Ironclad. Finally, after trying every other video, found your videos on what Odin does and this one, and killed him on first try, not gonna lie, it was a clutch victory, with Zack dead and trapped on his dimensional stuff... aeroga once and almost staggered, blocked with prime mode, Odin staggered and charged my 2 atbs, Cloud losing health in the dimension and bum, final aeroga 🎉😅

Finally got this after like a dozen tries on n off. Didn't stay consistent till today and then I was getting to bahamut each time, who was my real run ender. Once I cast manawall on cloud first thing tho I finally found a way past him. Got Odin first try with these tactics, didn't even see the imprisonment.

The crunch off was beaten by me in about 30 minutes. I had ptsd over the pullups in Remake, so I went in prepared this time. The irl hacks I pulled off to get through it were boarderline insane. Literally popped sticky notes on my monitor the track the trigger buttons after they dissappear, among like 10 other things, haha. You'll get there bro! My personal demon is that damn frog mini-game. Eternally stuck on 1:19 with that one, and at least 5 hours of my playtime is frogs.
Studying up. Hope to get this out of the way in the morning. Made it to Odin 3x and somehow i just fumble. Gonna play about an hour against Odin before i start the full run again. @@Solestro Finally did it! It was a very close call. He was like a centimeter of life left when he had the prompt of Zantetsuken, I quickly filled my stagger so I Aeroga’d him and luckily it killed him. Thank you so much, Sepiroth will be my last before I do the hard mode.

I tried this build over the weekend and failed hard against odin. I'm glad to say that today, after practicing against him solo a couple of times, I didn't even get touched by him. I just have "To Be a Hero" left to finish.
I set the game aside for a few weeks and played eiyuden chronicle hundred heroes. I just platinumed that yesterday. So I returned to rebirth. I kind of forgot how to play for a few mintutes. After like 3 attempts only reaching bahamut twice and odin once, i turned it off for a bit. Came back to it about an hour later, and beat To Be a Hero. Only change i made was putting time on cloud for earlier fights, and hasting sephiroth on alexander. Finally. All that's left is bonds of friendship, which I'm going to hold off on because I was not expecting to beat odin, since so many things went wrong in that fight. Cloud got imprisoned, but luckily it gave me time to get a few sword dance strikes in and use octaslash before he could kill cloud. Cloud became unfrozen with 1 atb, and thankfully atb boost was reset, so I got off that last aeroga. I guess what I'm trying to say is. Anyone coming here for help, and you're still having trouble. Take a break. Come back to this game after finishing platinuming another game, and that'll boost your mindset going into these fights. The final installment won't come out for at least 3 years. So you've got plenty of time to get that platinum.
I finished dynamic mode AND hard mode AND all the side content (bar this) and it took 148 hours. This alone has took me 70 hours and i still cant beat Odin. Crap flying through 9 boss fights just to get shat on at the end. Rapidly went from being my favourite game of the decade to being a chore.
If you are still struggling dude I offer a service on my patreon to do it for people. I know how much of a chore it can be to do. 9 fights to be killed by Odin. It is doable, Ive had loads of folk in my discord do it, same with some people doing it after I have taken the stress of doing it away from it.

Yeah you dont tank the damage. If hes gonna do enough damage to kill you thats obviously gonna happen lol. He cant 1 shot you though. So if you are full health and do it you will tank the hit and hit him. Trust me ive done it over 450 times for other people. Ive seen pretty much everything he can do.
Build works great, only problem I keep running into is zack not having much MP by the time I get to odin. I'm sure this will l correct itself once I get the flow down a little better of the enemy movement.
@@marianix1591yeah but if you have the build set up right you would be getting max MP back with every attack? Something must be wrong with your build?
After absolutely struggling over 4 weekends doing Rulers of the Outer Worlds to then get this challenge almost straight after (the solos were easy following guides) is a big middle finger 😅😅😅 legitimately almost gave up with Rulers until i found that Friga spam method and with this i either mess up on Ironclad or Alexander or get to Odin at about 40% and die

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after 1 freaking week and about 100+ attempts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT FINALLY omfg thank you thank you, boy I was panicking and its strange this video here I got this done in one try your previous one that I did so much attempts hehe, but jesus I had some clutch moments where it seem I slip or nearly died (in bahamut and very close to die on odin)sure as hell if I did not cast mana wall on cloud odin was gonna kill him or zack had died which he almost did nearly did. Then I had like 2% left, he was about to all father fury which maybe death but ty god phoenix interupt with rebirth flame so I got to hit a quick aerora to finish him lol (i summon phoenix in battle against odin hoping to hit arise but decide to go all out) YES. only last 4 annoying mini games to do piano/3 brawler sepi/gym work out and glide chocobo am bad at those 4 games e.e Sorry for the long story but jesus I just want to say your amazing and thank you. I know this maybe wierd but if your patron for the 4 annoying mini games I said I need am certainly dont wanna do those on ma own but will try hehe.
Is swift cast at 4 star 80% sufficient enough for you to make the run? It took forever to level up the magic focus using the chocoband and the AP up materia
You can try but the build isn't 100% consistent without that being maxed. Cause it means you can fire off a couple Aerogas before they come out of stagger easily. I always say people max it out if I try it for them so I can do it consistently. Just grind it out it doesn't take too long.
I cannot get past Bahamut. Untill him most of the things are easy, but with him every time something goes super wrong. And all the time he is charging particles almost every other attack, and I have no time to build up atb…
Just grab some particles on purpose and use the synergy skill to pressure him. That's probably one of the easiest things I can suggest to get past him.
@@Solestro I finally completed this challange. This time, fortunatelly, everything worked perfectly. All blocks and everything. I reach Odin first time and beat him no problem :) Only one interesting thing that he was doing Reprisal after Countering 🤔 Anyway thanks for the tips and great guide! ❤
@@qbiak9220 yeah he will reprisal you if you have the pink wristbands on when he does things like helmcleaver etc. but you can power through it with the magic easily. Well done dude congratz! 🎉🎉🎉
My main problem with this is that I can reach odin pretty consistantly but when I die to him it kills my mood and I just close the game and take a break I dont have the mood to sit down and try over and over till I beat it

There's only a few ways you can one shot it: 1: he does sling and he misses, you hit him it takes the buffs off the shield. 1 Aeroga breaks it. 2: he does thwack and misses, you hit him straight after, same thing takes the buffs off. 1 Aeroga it's gone. 3: if he does focused ire and you have the main buff from prime mode on/faith from Zack. It will break the shield. Also another way is sometimes from mountain crusher the buffs come off too.
I'm having the same exact problem, I'm not entirely sure if it has to do with a recent update but I have followed the advice provided above and I can't for the life of me get the shield to break. Are we striking him with a melee attack or Aeroga after he misses those aforementioned moves? I reckon I've done one or the either during the moments he misses and it's shield still doesn't break.
@@ASMR_Vandelay trust me it doesn't have to do with the update. I'm still currently completing these challenges for people and I can still 1 shot his shield lol. If he does one of those moves and misses you charge at him and hit him. It takes the 2 buffs off you see on his shield. Which allows you to pop it with Aeroga
Do you have EVERYTHING maxed including weapon level? Cause if not that's why lol. It's not needed though I've done it for like 400 people now being at level 8
Feels like I still need to be able to perfect parry most things (which I'm suprisingly bad/incinsistent at). I have tired for several hours now with this method and granted I've coming close to beating Odin a few runs. Most run stoppers for me are the 2nd boss and simply stunning Cloud by randomly being hit by one of it's electricity auras and dying. The big demon guy doing to much damage with physical attacks even when "parrying" in Prime mode and not given enough bearthing room to actually cast Aeroaga. Bahamut not playing nice and same problem as the big demon dude. Even parrying in prime mode does too much damage that I can't heal back beacuse I'm saving the ATB to break his wings. Embarrasingly I lost two times to Odin by simply being too disoriented and didn't know which side I was supposed to run to when he split the arena.
Well if you are still struggling the option is always there to purchase it through my patreon and il get it done for you. I've done it for loads of people now. I know how frustrating the last of these challenges can be. You don't need to parry everything but it helps a lot. If you are having issues check the boss videos I did on them all separately
@@Solestro Thanks to your single boss guides. I finally managed to beat it just now. In reality I just needed to be less aggressive against Bahamut and Odin. I usually lost a ton of Zachs MP at the Bahamut fight and entered Odin without full HP/MP on Zack. But this time I managed to get both healthy over to the Odin fight. But even then Cloud died but I managed to save it with Zack. Crossing my fingers that Outer worlds is easier than the Friendship one like everyone says. Cheers for great guides.
I’ve tried so many times, I can’t do this shit. Furthest I made it with was Bahamut once and by the time I got there I didn’t have enough MP. Idk what to do. I’m contemplating trying to finish the game on Hard Mode first so I can get an extra weapon level higher but I doubt that’d make a difference. This is impossible
When you are in Prime Mode, you can get a counter attack by simply blocking moves? What do you mean by "cloud has a particle on him" during the bahamut fight?
Could you elaborate on the Titan "Swing/Thwack" thing? I've so far not been able to remove his buffs once despite dodging the attacks and trying to hit him so end up using two Aeroga just to break his shield
This honestly looks a tiny bit better than Rulers of the outer Worlds. I may eat my words later, as I just beat that today after like 30 attempts lol. But I think with that, you have 2 bosses at a time, then greg, then sephy, which are two basically super bosses (that are also unfair in my opinion, one has a gazillion weapons and debuffs and one can make your characters unmoveable and one shot them). Here, you at least face bosses one on one, which seems more fair. But having Odin as the final boss is just an asshole move by the devs...imagine getting to round 10/10 and then zentesuken happens 1 minute in to the fight like...bruh. Although, are all the summons here full might or powered down a little bit at least? I'm scared lol. Thank you for the guides as always ^^
Yeah I agree having Odin as the final hurdle is just sticking the finger up at you lol. Just saying you got this far, mess up now and you go right back. See people think they are full power in this mode but I don't feel it at all. Like I tested Odin at full might in the simulator and he managed to knock me out of my spell cast which has never happened in this 50 plus times I've done this for people now. So I think they are tweaked slightly.
@@Solestro yeah I see what you mean. It’s just that their health seems super high compared to the brutal versions. Maybe cos aerith is just busted lol. I’m currently doing the solo legendary bouts which are kinda challenging. Not looking forward to this lol. I do feel like having 10 fights like this in a row without any checkpoints is a bit overtuned. It would be great if there was a checkpoint at round 5/10, but only if you don’t exit this instance of the challenge (if you exit this instance of the challenge in any way, like exit the game to save or change load out, you would need to restart the entire thing), I think that would be at least a good QoL improvement and make this gauntlet less stressful/tedious. At the current state, one tiny mistake, you die, you have to play through 8 to 9 fights just to get to the one boss that you were struggling with, it’s tedious. I definitely felt that with trying to kill sephy. This is that again I feel like. Imma be using this probably tomorrow or the day after, depending on how my solo bouts go and if chapter select will keep my VR bout progress. Thank you so much for this video. ^^
You've done this 40-50 times at £5 a pop? Man, you're making bank! I should become a gaming expert. Shame this challenge kicks my ass and I have to vent my frustration on the FFVII Rebirth subreddit. Edit: The camera just fucking sucks in this game, even when you're locked on, it's like the cameraman is suffering from dementia.
It's not £5 it's $25 lol. $5 is just to support the channel if you want. It takes too much of my time to do it for 5 lol. Haha yeah I get that with the camera when I fight Alexander all the time. It keeps going up his ass 😂. Also at this point in time I've done this challenge over 200 times for people now 😅
@@Solestro I feel like I'm on the cusp of asking you to do it for me as-well, as someone who's literally never contemplated that before. Cuphead, fun challenge, Crash Bandicoot 4, long but also fun challenge. It's Bahamut, he just does my nut in, knowing what is best countered, blocked and dodged - and even being able to dodge correctly - is near impossible to do. The whole ten-round thing is really resting my patience.
I like this strategy but I think it really takes a lot of skill. With almost no defenses you've got to be, not just average but rather, REALLY good at parrying.
I've returned to my comment to say that Odin is a little jerkface stinky poo face poo pants. Twice he's massacred me. Zack takes too much damage and triggers the warning. On another note, my first run was botched because I activated Prime Mode, but quickly switched after using it so it didn't register. Has that happened to anyone else? Where abilities or spells just cancel because of a quick switch? I didn't realize it and it literally cost me my first run. I popped off about three Aerogas before I realized Prime mode wasn't active.
@@xStrife1997x Not really I didn't really parry much in this run I just countered their attacks with prime mode most of the time. But yeah I've had that numerous times where I do an input switch characters and it doesn't register. I always keep my eye on their ATB now so if I switch and see it stay the same I switch back immediately and do it again. It can wreck your runs pretty easily.
Great video! Noticed you don’t necessarily use the Enemy Skill attacks, do you just use it for the added stats benefits then? Could you swap that for a HP up material instead?
I switched it out for precision defense materia and crushed this. If you're having any issues, playing against the summons with just cloud helps get the timing right. I can solo every full power summon with cloud now after maybe 5 attempts each learning the block timing. Being able to block binding attacks is actually pretty OP. The only attack I had a hard time blocking was the one where Bahamut throws the two big orbs back to back and I dodge moves that'll stun me like his homing lasers.
I read that you "boost" the zack and sephi VRs, do I need to have those materia maxed or can you do it without all max? Cause I just CBA anymore to do these challenges anymore 😂

I used the same build as you and did everything you said but I’m only doing 10,000 to 32,000 even when the enemy is staggered. I’m in prime mode and everything. Am I missing something?
You must be if your hits are that weak. Supposed to be clearing 49-50k easy with that build on titan staggered. You making sure you have the buffs from Zack and the ones you get from prime mode when you hit the second time?
So I noticed your magic attack power is 499, best I can get even with maxed materia right now is about 468 or so. It certainly feels like those 31 points are important because it did seem like I just didn't have quite enough damage for Bahamut but I'm wondering if I'm just bad or got unlucky too lol When doing this for others did you see they had lower magic power as well?
I've done it for people who's weapon level was a lot lower and their magic was a lot lower than mine. It's just about being consistent with the strategy. Like I said I haven't lost since I started doing it, the only thing I make sure people have when I do it for them is all the materia at max. You don't need as high magic as this, it just makes it quicker but without it, it is still 100% doable. As I've done it loads.
Would have bee nice to know you can parry in Prime mode. I just dove in and made it to Odin first try. I'm just not used to Prime mode so I felt I had to exit it especialy attack Odin and he killed Cloud. By this point because I had to sack so much MP Zack didn't have enough to arise and I just lost
Everytime bahamut uses a move he puts particles everywhere (glowy floating things) if they are left on the field he will absorb them and level them up faster. If you grab one and use the synergy skill (not ability) the one on R1. It will remove the particles from the party member, pressure bahamut and remove particles near where you are

You can block them. They do a lot of damage but you can block them. Best thing is either parry or just avoid them. You just dodge sideways and forwards and they go away.
@@Solestro Thank you for the advice. I will try to dodge them tomorrow and keep grinding. Blocking wasn't as effective for me. They just one shot me. But maybe I had Cloud in the rong stance and have to cancel Primal Mode first.

ok, weird question....i see ALL of you guys using Phoenix for the summon for these, why are none of you using the Magic Pot? js i get it's not the best for stats but it is broken like carbunkle from Remake- will use auto revive if your killed while it's active-just saying for people not as skilled as you it's a great "in case of emergency" summon especially for Odins instant death attack
Magic Pot is a DLC addition... only available for those who bought a specific version of the game. In this case, I believe it was for the digital deluxe version.

Hot damn. Amazing guide. I beat this like 2nd or 3rd try. At the end. Odin and I exchanged blows at low health, we killed each other but the win still counted! PHEW!!
Thanks for this. I had a big trouble with big boy Bahamuto. He was the toughest one for me in this challenge (was trying to kill him for like 3h). In my last round with Odin (first try) I tried my best to pressure him since the very beggining. Everything was going well, until I didn't dodge the aoe thingie and everything went to hell. Cloud died, I revived him with Zack, Zack died. Odin was almost dead but I knew I needed an aeroga to kill him, building those 2 ATB bars without taking damage (cause Cloud was so low on hp) took forever. Finally managed to cast my aeroga and killed him with just the exact amount of damage I believe. It was beautiful. I screamed, I cried, I was shaking like a leaf. Thanks for this guide!!
I have to tell you, I went through multiple guides for this challenge. Optinoob, akhafasu, Syracurse... your guide was the most encouraging among all of them. I'd say the nastiest monsters are Hueyacoatl and Brineborn Demon, as those two may nastily surprise you with a sucker punch. Ironclad wasn't too bad as I had practice fighting it with attrition through Cloud's Solo bout. However, the grandfather of all nasties is Odin. That was the deadliest fight of my life. Odin managed to get Cloud in a combo and killed him, and then as Zack, I had to dodge around to build ATB so I could cast Arise on Cloud. When that happened, Odin took advantage of his distraction to kill Zack, and now Cloud was fighting alone without a safety net. It really was a close fight. Through recasting Prime mode, casting Aeroga and dancing around Odin, I was lucky to build my Limit Break meter. In the end, at the clutch, just after using my Limit Break to neutralize Temporal Imprisonment, Odin had a sliver of health left and I needed to build up one more ATB for Aeroga. I had about 2000 HP left, and as I cast my last Aeroga, Odin did Reprisal, cutting away 1000 HP, but Cloud survived. Victory from the jaws of defeat. With how Zack sacrificed his life for Cloud to narrowly take the win, it truly was the entire character arc of Zack and Cloud in one battle. Bonds of Friendship indeed.

At my wits end with this challenge. I’ve been trying it off and on for 10 days. Twice I’ve been within an Aeroga of killing Odin only to get killed before I could cast it. Most frustrating thing I’ve ever encountered in a video game. It’s literally the only thing missing for the Platinum. Kudos to those that have completed it.

Dude after struggling with this for weeks I finally finished this god forsaken battle. The tips on Odin especially the haste and faith. Also Zack did die but knowing when to thrown the limit break on temporal imprisoment made all the difference. You and Opti are the kings of builds.

Wow man, I just did this first try with your guide! I was almost dying every fight, pausing for your advice and barely killed Bahamut and Odin. Practicing Odin before is the key! Once I was able to solo him with Cloud on full power, that's the moment I went for Bonds of Frendship. Only hard mode left for the platinum!

Thank you! Using this, took me a solid week and a half to 2 weeks, but finally got it this morning. Bahahut and Odin were mainly my run killers (although sometimes I'd get over aggressive trying to rush and bosses 2,4, 5 and 6 would get me).
I ended up just practicing against Bahamut and Odin at Max Power with just Cloud in the simulator. After I could beat them solo 4 or 5 times in a row, they werent so daunting. Sure enough, a few times trying this challenge later, nailed it. Albeit barely. Accidentally got Cloud stuck on the wrong half of the battlefield near the end. But before Zack got taken out, I managed to Raise Cloud and give him one last manawall. One or two aerogas later I beat him. Stick to it and you'll get there.
Now onto the Sephiroth challenge 😂

@Solestro I appreciate it sir! Only took maybe 5 tries for Seph. Though once again messed up on Odin. He got Cloud trapped in that time thing. And Sephiroth had only one MP left. Or did he? Turned out I had just used the synergy ability so his MP was unlimited temporarily. After striking Odin a few times, I used the ATB to fully heal cloud/sephiroth and manawall both just before Odin took could take out the frozen Cloud. He still did take Cloud out sadly, but not before I got off one last aeroga. So they took each other out. Luckily Sephiroth was still standing so we won. Thanks again!
I found that with Odin it's easier to just stay back and build atb with Cloud's ranged wind attack then hit him with aeroga. Also switching characters when you see Odin heading towards you because the cpu controlled character was way better at blocking than I was. Once the aggro is off of you switch back to Cloud and repeat. It might be a little slower but it made the fight super easy after 2 days of attempts trying to parry/block close range.
You don’t need to parry him. Just block in primal mode. You build up ATB and you pressure him.
@@Checkmate_Bro7 I know but some of his attacks are multi hit or are really fast and it's a lot less stressful to just switch off instead of risking it be stuck in an attack animation and unable to block. Just switch/stay away and you don't have to worry about anything.
@@gadarenedemon just defend from his attack it will auto "parry" him the only attack pattern u need dodge is the one with triagle icon attack pink weapon attack cuz if u get hit by pink attack he will do zanten very early
@@aidiruikki a lot of the time I just prime mode through the purple attacks too. He's never knocked me out of level 3 magic so I just tank it and blast him.
Lucky to have found this before I unlocked the challenge! I actually died on the first couple rounds a few times 🤦♂ but after that got through all the later rounds on their first try. Never had a scare with Odin luckily and the trick of how to avoid the Temporal with limit. Totally understand the frustration others have dying in the late rounds over and over. Going to give you a patreon follow for all the hours of my life I would've been retrying this challenge.

Finally did this. Cloud was dead at the end of Odin’s fight, Zack was barely hanging and the boss was SECONDS of calling Zantetsuken, had one last ATB and I decided to risk a lv1 chain slash. Damn that was hard

Then went and attempted the crunch-off with Jules, which tons of people have said is way harder. I beat that on my 3rd attempt lol. Then I spent days… DAYS on the Cloud and Sephiroth challenge, To Be A Hero. I’m talking like a week or something. It was getting me so frustrated that I started just taking breaks from playing it after every attempt. One night I just said screw the game and watched 3 classic James Bond movies lol.
I’ve beaten To Be A Hero since then, so all I have now is Bonds Of Friendship. My point in this novel that I wrote here is not to let the game get to you. Take a break from it, relax, do something that destresses you, then come back to it. It’s not a race to the Platinum (despite what the dickheads on Reddit say), so there’s no need to burn yourself out on the game. This Platinum is ridiculous with the shit you’re required to do, after all. You got this!
@@SuperEkkorn ah ok that's a fair amount of minigames. I think it helped me doing them as I was playing the game, plus I really liked the minigames, but the fighting is where it's at. Always keeps you engaged 😁
@Solestro yeah, I know. I found them really invasive on my playthrough, and skipped as much as I could from corel, then heard I'd miss out on story with Barret in CC, did the protorelics there, went back bc I worried I'd missed out on other storybeats, completely killed the pacing, and now I've got all these left and I find them both boring and too hard, so no plat for me. It sucks, I love remake, and enjoyed spending more time there, but here, nah. I'm still interested to try the fights though.
Just beat it with this advice! Odin was the only hard one really. He did the warning when I had barely even hit him and I began sweating bullets the whole rest of the fight. Luckily didnt get hit any more after that and started blasting him with Wind. Thanks!!
Crazy, after wiping over and over again on Titan and Hueyacoatl last night and then losing when I finally made it to Ironclad (don't know why, this guy and Kid G are my Achilles heel) like 10 times I hopped on today and cleared it all in one go, first time facing anything past Ironclad.

Finally, after trying every other video, found your videos on what Odin does and this one, and killed him on first try, not gonna lie, it was a clutch victory, with Zack dead and trapped on his dimensional stuff... aeroga once and almost staggered, blocked with prime mode, Odin staggered and charged my 2 atbs, Cloud losing health in the dimension and bum, final aeroga 🎉😅

Finally got this after like a dozen tries on n off. Didn't stay consistent till today and then I was getting to bahamut each time, who was my real run ender. Once I cast manawall on cloud first thing tho I finally found a way past him. Got Odin first try with these tactics, didn't even see the imprisonment.

The crunch off was beaten by me in about 30 minutes. I had ptsd over the pullups in Remake, so I went in prepared this time. The irl hacks I pulled off to get through it were boarderline insane. Literally popped sticky notes on my monitor the track the trigger buttons after they dissappear, among like 10 other things, haha. You'll get there bro! My personal demon is that damn frog mini-game. Eternally stuck on 1:19 with that one, and at least 5 hours of my playtime is frogs.

I tried this build over the weekend and failed hard against odin. I'm glad to say that today, after practicing against him solo a couple of times, I didn't even get touched by him. I just have "To Be a Hero" left to finish.

I set the game aside for a few weeks and played eiyuden chronicle hundred heroes. I just platinumed that yesterday. So I returned to rebirth. I kind of forgot how to play for a few mintutes. After like 3 attempts only reaching bahamut twice and odin once, i turned it off for a bit. Came back to it about an hour later, and beat To Be a Hero. Only change i made was putting time on cloud for earlier fights, and hasting sephiroth on alexander. Finally. All that's left is bonds of friendship, which I'm going to hold off on because I was not expecting to beat odin, since so many things went wrong in that fight.
Cloud got imprisoned, but luckily it gave me time to get a few sword dance strikes in and use octaslash before he could kill cloud. Cloud became unfrozen with 1 atb, and thankfully atb boost was reset, so I got off that last aeroga.
I guess what I'm trying to say is. Anyone coming here for help, and you're still having trouble. Take a break. Come back to this game after finishing platinuming another game, and that'll boost your mindset going into these fights. The final installment won't come out for at least 3 years. So you've got plenty of time to get that platinum.
I finished dynamic mode AND hard mode AND all the side content (bar this) and it took 148 hours. This alone has took me 70 hours and i still cant beat Odin. Crap flying through 9 boss fights just to get shat on at the end. Rapidly went from being my favourite game of the decade to being a chore.
If you are still struggling dude I offer a service on my patreon to do it for people. I know how much of a chore it can be to do. 9 fights to be killed by Odin. It is doable, Ive had loads of folk in my discord do it, same with some people doing it after I have taken the stress of doing it away from it.

On the Odin fight: "I have never had him knock me out while I cast lv 3 magic" When I try it: *He immediately kills Cloud when he uses lv 3 magic*
Yeah you dont tank the damage. If hes gonna do enough damage to kill you thats obviously gonna happen lol. He cant 1 shot you though. So if you are full health and do it you will tank the hit and hit him. Trust me ive done it over 450 times for other people. Ive seen pretty much everything he can do.

Build works great, only problem I keep running into is zack not having much MP by the time I get to odin. I'm sure this will l correct itself once I get the flow down a little better of the enemy movement.
Yeah once you get the strat down you should always have pretty much all the MP you need on Zack to do the buffs etc you need :)

After absolutely struggling over 4 weekends doing Rulers of the Outer Worlds to then get this challenge almost straight after (the solos were easy following guides) is a big middle finger 😅😅😅 legitimately almost gave up with Rulers until i found that Friga spam method and with this i either mess up on Ironclad or Alexander or get to Odin at about 40% and die

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after 1 freaking week and about 100+ attempts!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT FINALLY omfg thank you thank you, boy I was panicking and its strange this video here I got this done in one try your previous one that I did so much attempts hehe, but jesus I had some clutch moments where it seem I slip or nearly died (in bahamut and very close to die on odin)sure as hell if I did not cast mana wall on cloud odin was gonna kill him or zack had died which he almost did nearly did.
Then I had like 2% left, he was about to all father fury which maybe death but ty god phoenix interupt with rebirth flame so I got to hit a quick aerora to finish him lol (i summon phoenix in battle against odin hoping to hit arise but decide to go all out) YES. only last 4 annoying mini games to do piano/3 brawler sepi/gym work out and glide chocobo am bad at those 4 games e.e Sorry for the long story but jesus I just want to say your amazing and thank you. I know this maybe wierd but if your patron for the 4 annoying mini games I said I need am certainly dont wanna do those on ma own but will try hehe.

I keep track of it from the start of the battle. You start in the center with Odin. Just keep track of the right hand side and get to safety

Got to Odin and got him down to about two aeroga hits. The next one didn't hit and he killed me when I tried charging atb again.
Is swift cast at 4 star 80% sufficient enough for you to make the run? It took forever to level up the magic focus using the chocoband and the AP up materia
You can try but the build isn't 100% consistent without that being maxed. Cause it means you can fire off a couple Aerogas before they come out of stagger easily. I always say people max it out if I try it for them so I can do it consistently. Just grind it out it doesn't take too long.
For how much it will save your sanity trust me it's worth it.

I cannot get past Bahamut. Untill him most of the things are easy, but with him every time something goes super wrong. And all the time he is charging particles almost every other attack, and I have no time to build up atb…
Just grab some particles on purpose and use the synergy skill to pressure him. That's probably one of the easiest things I can suggest to get past him.
@@Solestro I finally completed this challange. This time, fortunatelly, everything worked perfectly. All blocks and everything. I reach Odin first time and beat him no problem :) Only one interesting thing that he was doing Reprisal after Countering 🤔 Anyway thanks for the tips and great guide! ❤
@@qbiak9220 yeah he will reprisal you if you have the pink wristbands on when he does things like helmcleaver etc. but you can power through it with the magic easily. Well done dude congratz! 🎉🎉🎉

My main problem with this is that I can reach odin pretty consistantly but when I die to him it kills my mood and I just close the game and take a break I dont have the mood to sit down and try over and over till I beat it

I for somereason can't one shot titans shield
There's only a few ways you can one shot it:
1: he does sling and he misses, you hit him it takes the buffs off the shield. 1 Aeroga breaks it.
2: he does thwack and misses, you hit him straight after, same thing takes the buffs off. 1 Aeroga it's gone.
3: if he does focused ire and you have the main buff from prime mode on/faith from Zack. It will break the shield.
Also another way is sometimes from mountain crusher the buffs come off too.
I'm having the same exact problem, I'm not entirely sure if it has to do with a recent update but I have followed the advice provided above and I can't for the life of me get the shield to break. Are we striking him with a melee attack or Aeroga after he misses those aforementioned moves? I reckon I've done one or the either during the moments he misses and it's shield still doesn't break.
@@ASMR_Vandelay trust me it doesn't have to do with the update. I'm still currently completing these challenges for people and I can still 1 shot his shield lol.
If he does one of those moves and misses you charge at him and hit him. It takes the 2 buffs off you see on his shield. Which allows you to pop it with Aeroga

There's only like one that cannot be parried/countered. Shimmering blade. I counter everything of his.

Yup makes it much more efficient and easier to do.
Feels like I still need to be able to perfect parry most things (which I'm suprisingly bad/incinsistent at). I have tired for several hours now with this method and granted I've coming close to beating Odin a few runs. Most run stoppers for me are
the 2nd boss and simply stunning Cloud by randomly being hit by one of it's electricity auras and dying.
The big demon guy doing to much damage with physical attacks even when "parrying" in Prime mode and not given enough bearthing room to actually cast Aeroaga.
Bahamut not playing nice and same problem as the big demon dude. Even parrying in prime mode does too much damage that I can't heal back beacuse I'm saving the ATB to break his wings.
Embarrasingly I lost two times to Odin by simply being too disoriented and didn't know which side I was supposed to run to when he split the arena.
Well if you are still struggling the option is always there to purchase it through my patreon and il get it done for you. I've done it for loads of people now. I know how frustrating the last of these challenges can be. You don't need to parry everything but it helps a lot. If you are having issues check the boss videos I did on them all separately
@@Solestro Thanks to your single boss guides. I finally managed to beat it just now. In reality I just needed to be less aggressive against Bahamut and Odin. I usually lost a ton of Zachs MP at the Bahamut fight and entered Odin without full HP/MP on Zack. But this time I managed to get both healthy over to the Odin fight. But even then Cloud died but I managed to save it with Zack. Crossing my fingers that Outer worlds is easier than the Friendship one like everyone says. Cheers for great guides.

I’ve tried so many times, I can’t do this shit. Furthest I made it with was Bahamut once and by the time I got there I didn’t have enough MP. Idk what to do. I’m contemplating trying to finish the game on Hard Mode first so I can get an extra weapon level higher but I doubt that’d make a difference. This is impossible
When you are in Prime Mode, you can get a counter attack by simply blocking moves?
What do you mean by "cloud has a particle on him" during the bahamut fight?
Could you elaborate on the Titan "Swing/Thwack" thing? I've so far not been able to remove his buffs once despite dodging the attacks and trying to hit him so end up using two Aeroga just to break his shield
Yeah so when he does sling or thwack and he missed you. Attack him straight away it removes the buffs. Easy as that essentially lol.

This honestly looks a tiny bit better than Rulers of the outer Worlds. I may eat my words later, as I just beat that today after like 30 attempts lol. But I think with that, you have 2 bosses at a time, then greg, then sephy, which are two basically super bosses (that are also unfair in my opinion, one has a gazillion weapons and debuffs and one can make your characters unmoveable and one shot them). Here, you at least face bosses one on one, which seems more fair. But having Odin as the final boss is just an asshole move by the devs...imagine getting to round 10/10 and then zentesuken happens 1 minute in to the fight like...bruh.
Although, are all the summons here full might or powered down a little bit at least? I'm scared lol.

Yeah I agree having Odin as the final hurdle is just sticking the finger up at you lol. Just saying you got this far, mess up now and you go right back.
See people think they are full power in this mode but I don't feel it at all. Like I tested Odin at full might in the simulator and he managed to knock me out of my spell cast which has never happened in this 50 plus times I've done this for people now. So I think they are tweaked slightly.

I’m currently doing the solo legendary bouts which are kinda challenging. Not looking forward to this lol. I do feel like having 10 fights like this in a row without any checkpoints is a bit overtuned. It would be great if there was a checkpoint at round 5/10, but only if you don’t exit this instance of the challenge (if you exit this instance of the challenge in any way, like exit the game to save or change load out, you would need to restart the entire thing), I think that would be at least a good QoL improvement and make this gauntlet less stressful/tedious. At the current state, one tiny mistake, you die, you have to play through 8 to 9 fights just to get to the one boss that you were struggling with, it’s tedious. I definitely felt that with trying to kill sephy. This is that again I feel like.
Imma be using this probably tomorrow or the day after, depending on how my solo bouts go and if chapter select will keep my VR bout progress. Thank you so much for this video. ^^
You've done this 40-50 times at £5 a pop? Man, you're making bank! I should become a gaming expert. Shame this challenge kicks my ass and I have to vent my frustration on the FFVII Rebirth subreddit. Edit: The camera just fucking sucks in this game, even when you're locked on, it's like the cameraman is suffering from dementia.
It's not £5 it's $25 lol. $5 is just to support the channel if you want. It takes too much of my time to do it for 5 lol. Haha yeah I get that with the camera when I fight Alexander all the time. It keeps going up his ass 😂. Also at this point in time I've done this challenge over 200 times for people now 😅
@@Solestro I feel like I'm on the cusp of asking you to do it for me as-well, as someone who's literally never contemplated that before. Cuphead, fun challenge, Crash Bandicoot 4, long but also fun challenge. It's Bahamut, he just does my nut in, knowing what is best countered, blocked and dodged - and even being able to dodge correctly - is near impossible to do. The whole ten-round thing is really resting my patience.
@@Jdeadevil yeah the 10 rounds thing was really annoying me when I first completed it too. It takes soo much god damn time to complete.
I like this strategy but I think it really takes a lot of skill. With almost no defenses you've got to be, not just average but rather, REALLY good at parrying.
I've returned to my comment to say that Odin is a little jerkface stinky poo face poo pants. Twice he's massacred me. Zack takes too much damage and triggers the warning. On another note, my first run was botched because I activated Prime Mode, but quickly switched after using it so it didn't register. Has that happened to anyone else? Where abilities or spells just cancel because of a quick switch? I didn't realize it and it literally cost me my first run. I popped off about three Aerogas before I realized Prime mode wasn't active.
@@xStrife1997x Not really I didn't really parry much in this run I just countered their attacks with prime mode most of the time.
But yeah I've had that numerous times where I do an input switch characters and it doesn't register. I always keep my eye on their ATB now so if I switch and see it stay the same I switch back immediately and do it again. It can wreck your runs pretty easily.

Great video! Noticed you don’t necessarily use the Enemy Skill attacks, do you just use it for the added stats benefits then? Could you swap that for a HP up material instead?
You could.
You’d lose 5% attack, spirit, vitality, and probably most importantly magic attack.
I switched it out for precision defense materia and crushed this. If you're having any issues, playing against the summons with just cloud helps get the timing right. I can solo every full power summon with cloud now after maybe 5 attempts each learning the block timing. Being able to block binding attacks is actually pretty OP.
The only attack I had a hard time blocking was the one where Bahamut throws the two big orbs back to back and I dodge moves that'll stun me like his homing lasers.
I read that you "boost" the zack and sephi VRs, do I need to have those materia maxed or can you do it without all max?
Cause I just CBA anymore to do these challenges anymore 😂
I need the materia for the build maxed for it to be consistent and quick for me.

I used the same build as you and did everything you said but I’m only doing 10,000 to 32,000 even when the enemy is staggered. I’m in prime mode and everything. Am I missing something?
You must be if your hits are that weak. Supposed to be clearing 49-50k easy with that build on titan staggered. You making sure you have the buffs from Zack and the ones you get from prime mode when you hit the second time?
So I noticed your magic attack power is 499, best I can get even with maxed materia right now is about 468 or so.
It certainly feels like those 31 points are important because it did seem like I just didn't have quite enough damage for Bahamut but I'm wondering if I'm just bad or got unlucky too lol
When doing this for others did you see they had lower magic power as well?
I've done it for people who's weapon level was a lot lower and their magic was a lot lower than mine. It's just about being consistent with the strategy. Like I said I haven't lost since I started doing it, the only thing I make sure people have when I do it for them is all the materia at max.
You don't need as high magic as this, it just makes it quicker but without it, it is still 100% doable. As I've done it loads.

Can anyone explain what he means when he talks about bahamuts particles that are on the floor, what effect do they have on my party and on him?
Everytime bahamut uses a move he puts particles everywhere (glowy floating things) if they are left on the field he will absorb them and level them up faster. If you grab one and use the synergy skill (not ability) the one on R1. It will remove the particles from the party member, pressure bahamut and remove particles near where you are

Is there a trick with Alexander? He uses his mini homing laser bubbles, which I can't block or dodge away from without dieing.
You can block them. They do a lot of damage but you can block them. Best thing is either parry or just avoid them. You just dodge sideways and forwards and they go away.

Blocking wasn't as effective for me. They just one shot me. But maybe I had Cloud in the rong stance and have to cancel Primal Mode first.

Managed to get to Odin, but didn't get into the rotation. I'll try again tomorrow with a fresh mindset.

What determines atb boost amount given? Ive used it and not even gotten a quarter atb bar before. Other times its like 1.25 bars.
Why my attack is 287 and magic only 468. I don't undestand. And why are recovering 50% MP instead 30%?
its to do with party/weapon level. You dont need it as high as mine, i did it at that level originally

ok, weird question....i see ALL of you guys using Phoenix for the summon for these, why are none of you using the Magic Pot? js i get it's not the best for stats but it is broken like carbunkle from Remake- will use auto revive if your killed while it's active-just saying for people not as skilled as you it's a great "in case of emergency" summon especially for Odins instant death attack
Magic Pot is a DLC addition... only available for those who bought a specific version of the game. In this case, I believe it was for the digital deluxe version.

I was going at this last night using your guides and i got through all of it almost perfectly. Then i get to odin ane get halfway through the fight looking like im finally gonna get it and my game crashes..💀

It's to do with party/weapon level I believe. But you don't need it that high I did it before I had everything maxed out. So it's still doable.
