Clever pun. The urban legend is that drinking soda and eating pop rocks at the same time will make your stomach explode. The kill coming from pop rocks and drain cleaner ( alsocalled "caustic soda") was a great twist.

Brenda was able to kill Parker's dog easily because he knew her. Brenda was able to pick up Parker's dog with ease. Despite being dressed up in her serial killer outfit the dog regonized Brenda based on her scent. Brenda could had easily killed a big dog as well. Another disadvantage that Parker's dog had was that he was most likely friendly. Parker wasn't necessarily a good pet owner himself. He could had locked his dog in his room with a bowl of food and water not have it loose around the dorm where the doors were open with people entering and leaving. Parker could had have his party somewhere else that wasn't his dorm.
