- Sometimes that Murphy guy upholds his law a little too much. But, I ain't giving in to him.

Common courtesy isn’t so common….people should have the decency to respect others space even in the middle of nowhere.
Security at night. In Alaska I used to camp with a 44mag and a powerful flashlight to identify and light up the target, usually Bears. But 2 legged predators can be just as dangerous...
Agreed. Will be talking about that kind of stuff in a future video.
Good reminder that attitude is everything. Seems to me that you made the most of a trip that many others would've bailed on.
When wife says she's using PTO and wants to go camping, you better believe I'm excited to go camping. But, I certainly had my moments when it felt like bad luck was out to stop us. Thanks for watching!
I’ve noticed a surge in inconsiderate losers since the plandemic ..
It’s like the basement dwellers discovered the outdoors . Armed with shoplifted spray paint they go tagging the country side & leave trash everywhere they go..
I’m a old guy & the older I get the less tolerant I am of people, personalities & problems..😂😆.
Thank you for sharing your adventures 👍🏾👏🏽
Yeah, much more unfettered behavior all around and everywhere in these last few years. Than you for watching and commenting!
Love your videos my friend! In regards to the people who pulled up in the wee hours of the nights, isn't that sh#t a buzz kill!
I don't understand that stuff, I'm guessing alcohol or drugs? Regardless, I often go out with my son, so I take EVERY measure that I am protected. It does seem like, that on the whole at least in my experience, most people out there are like minded. But man, it gave me anxiety just hearing you talk about it. Keep up the great videos and keep getting out there!
There's definitely more good than bad, we just all have to remind ourselves of that every now and again. Thanks for watching and commenting!
yeah that was not cool on those people parts. Rudeness is everywhere even in the NAtional forest and or BLM unfortunately. I would have taken some flashlights with 2000 lumens and shown it at them..that will mess up their shots
Nah, they probably would have poured their pumpkin spice lattes on me and my rig
Do you have a link to that foam shower floor?
Oops, forgot, it's in the description now too... Outdoor Foam Shower Mat: amzn.to/49b1teG
Appreciate you reminding me 👊
Windy flapping tent ⛺️ noise is the reason I decided NOT to buy a rooftop tent
Everything has advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks for taking the time to share. misadventures can sometimes be my favorite. Although, I don't care for the wind very much either.
Great video, Roger. Thank you. Security is always a concern and I would appreciate hearing your take. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thanks for watching! I'm working on that camp security video today! A lot of it is kind of common sense for me and probably for most but hopefully it'll be helpful to someone.
Great video, thanks!
Thank you for sitting through it!
You probably save that German couple lives. Out in the desert in a minivan sounds like they were not prepare or understood the position they were in. Down here in SoCal they just discovered the remains of 2 people that went missing in July at Anza-Borrego state park.
I don't know about all that but I hadn't heard about the Anza-Borrego news. I just looked it up and dang, it's a dangerous and messed up world sometimes.
Wind is definitely my least favorite form of weather! About 10 years ago, while camping in the Alabama Hills, I had to pack up my tent around 10pm due to a crazy windstorm, and just slept in the front seat of my old Cherokee. Well, sort of slept, as it shook all night long. Anyway, I hope your breakfast in Lone Pine was good; for me it’s the Alabama Hills Cafe if I’m really hungry, but often it’s the Lone Star Bistro for a great breakfast bagel sandwich and a coffee to go! Thanks for posting, and reminding me to get back up there!
Wife found some little spot called Vibras Juice Bar. Wasn't bad but a little too healthy for me lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just wondering where you got the solar panel for your bonnet? It'd be a great addition to my 4runner😁

Any video you can walk away from is a successful one (…something like that). Glad your wife could make the trip! Great vid!
We RAN away from nature's wind tunnel that last morning 😆 and sought refuge at a breakfast spot in Lone Pine. Thanks for commenting!
Must be liberating to get a hot shower in the middle of the wilderness . Regarding the first incident , i would give it a pass as both you and the photography group had the same plans. They needed that ideal shot , some logistical planning were involved.
Second incident was definitely had some cause for concern . Wonder if it's worth spending a few K to get nightvision scopes and to get tactical training .
Third incident with the wind would be annoying AF . Thank goodness the tent held up.
Ever so often, I dabble with the idea of night vision, more for capturing wildlife than security but yeah it's cost prohibitive. As for the crazy wind, let's just say it's inspiration for a different build sometime in the future. I was never worried about the tent failing, I've seen the GFC guys point a fan boat at one of their tents and it held up fine. That flapping and rocking back and forth though... Oh and yes, hot shower was pretty awesome!
Hey man. Shitty trips happen. Just gotta focus on the positive. Just a friendly tip : Don't ever hook your dog(s) to a vehicle. Even if there's nothing else to hook to, anchor them to a chair or boat anchor, anything heavy that keeps them from running off. It only takes one time to somehow forget and pull away. I know it sounds crazy and we'd all never make that mistake, but if you have a 100% never do it clause, it can never happen. Just imagine how traumatic that would be for you (and of course the dog). You'd never forgive yourself.
Reasonable tip! Thanks for watching!
Man, I'm loving your vids. We think alike, so it's not even just the content, it's your delivery. You could be talking about a toaster and I'd be giving you my full attention. 😄 I'm in San Fran a lot for work. I also fly for free and have contemplated renting a Jeep and getting out there. Actually, I have a Sacremento trip coming up soon and I might drive out towards Tahoe. I'd love to meet for coffee or a hike or something if you're up for it. If that's weird, no worries. I just always dream of collaborating with someone and know some day it is going to work out. ~ Josh

Are there any good off road trails 1-2 hours out of the Bay Area or are they usually 3+ hours?
I don't really count the OHV parks but Hollister Hills SVRA and Carnegie SVRA are the closest. For public land trails, the nearest ones seem to be the BLM land east of Pinnacles NP (but there's not much there) or else you'd have to venture out to the Sierra.
