Winter is coming? Camping Mount Charleston
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- This week we head out to Mount Charleston to camp with some friends at one of our favorite campgrounds on the mountain - McWilliams Campground! We finally got a taste of some fresh COOL air with what we think are the hints of Fall weather coming down to the desert! I test out some new camp kitchen gear and make a delicious from scratch chicken pot pie for dinner.

Kaden, I also use a camping oven cover. Really helps retain the heat and save on propane use. Bought on Amazon for $29.99
Good to know! I'll look into that, Thanks for watching!!
Hi Kaden 👋 nice video with friends. Having friends along makes your time camping so great! The time probably went by so fast and it was time to pack up and leave. Love your new Coleman Oven! That's cool to bake things... your chicken pot pie looked delicious, I'm definitely going to have to try your recipe and make one for ourselves! 👍😋 I know you had a lot of folks around this trip, but would've love to have seen more of the campgrounds, like if you fellas took a hike around the area. 🙄 But otherwise I enjoyed it, just want to see more of the surrounding area. Now the sky is the limit...to bake anything you like 🤔 like pizza 🍕 muffins or cakes, Shepherds pie or whatever your heart ❤️ desires! Happy baking Kaden! 👍 Have a good week! 😊 🚙 hi
Yes! Definitely give the pie pot a try sometime, it was so good! I'll keep that in mind for next time to get a tour of the campground in :) Pizza is definitely on the list of things to make, muffins also sound great! Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for watching Phyllis! Appreciate it
Pizza stone was a good idea. Burned so much in my lil coleman oven...
Yeah that stone was a game changer for this thing! I could see how without it would burn a lot of stuff lol Thanks for watching!
Aloha Kaden hey can I join you on your my Charleston camping trips , enjoy watchin your videos bro 😊
Whats up!! I'm hoping to get a group camp trip setup for later this year when the weather cools off (one day) lol keep an eye out on the community page or on my iG. Thanks for watching!!
I might have to get that oven now, haha. I just got home from Hilltop. Temps were sooo nice, but the winds were insane. Luckily I was so exhausted each night I slept through the winds.
Filipino adventurers!
For how compact it is its a great addition to the camp kitchen! lol thats always a great feeling to be so exhausted to still get some good sleep in crap weather at camp! Thanks for watching man!
We still have high 90s and 100f degree weather in SoCal. And we’re 24 hours away from October and it looks like we have another 2 weeks before we see the high 80s.
I know.. the weather this last week has been brutal still waiting for fall/winter temps around here lol
We stayed atthe same campsite # a few months ago… one bench had a cracked lol. Campsite looks way better in your video, they had a mudslide prior when we camped there. Filipino adventurers! 😊
Yea! I noticed that crack on the bench lol in my head I was trying to think of what may have caused that lol They did a good job at cleaning it up after the mudslide for sure! Thanks for watching Patrick!
Nice job getting a stone for your Coleman oven. I suggest getting an oven thermometer that sits on the rack as well. It helps knowing the temp you are actually cooking at. It’s what I use when cooking with the Coleman oven. Nice vid as always. Cheers!
Good idea! I didnt even think about getting a oven thermometer for it, i'll look into that! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watchigng Appreciate it!
That chicken pot pie was 🔥! The weather was perfect and just good vibes felt throughout!🤩
Yess!! Good times!!
Moments like this with multiple frontiers together make me miss our old 14' frontier! 😢 Great location! Neat little camp stove too!
You got that Titan still right?? Still in the Nissan Familia at least =p Thanks for watching man!
Amazing setup. It all looks expensive
The Go Fast Camper is one of the most expernsive camp items on my list but for the most part a lot of our camp gear is pretty reasonably priced. I'm cheap so I dont always have the best of the best gear lol Thanks for watching!
Cool dude. I'm in Vegas as well, it's nice getting away from the hot valley and heading up towards the mountains. It's been getting in the 70s up there. Must be nice.
No doubt! And so convenient being this close to town, love it out there! It was the first time I put on a jacket all summer haha
@@Kadenventures That's awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Looks like a lot of fun. I wanna take the family out to do some trails out in Red Rock soon. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming, dude. 😃 👍
u should try this but make pie crust out of biscuit dough, it's bomb
Ohh that sounds like it would be soo good! i'll try that next time!! Thanks for watching!!
Kaden what’s the size on the pizza stone? I need to get one for my oven
Its a 9 inch stone, Amazon link here: amzn.to/4eKbjWV
The oven is great for crispy pizza.
i'm so stoked to try making pizza on this thing!
Awesome little oven, what size is that pizza stone?
Its a 9 inch fit perfectly! Got it on Amazon here: amzn.to/4eKbjWV Thanks for watching Dane!
Damn frontier owners…. Sighs, okay okay you twisted my arm. I’m subbing… I drive a 18 tundra lol but y’all are just my kinda vibe. Definitely chill and just a warm environment with friends. I love that. Keep this content coming brougham 👊🏾🤘🏾
lol! Thanks for the sub and Welcome to the venture familia!! Its all good I wont hold the Tundra against ya =p Glad you enjoy the content, thanks for watching! Appreciate it
What a great video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Living large my friend
We do our best :) Thanks for watching Peter!!
Chicken pot pie is the perfect recipe for the Coleman oven. I'm a Shepard's pie guy and I can't for the life of me make it in the Coleman. I'd have to make a career out of sourcing the right size baking dish only to have enough servings for maybe 2 people. Cool Frontier build.
Yeah I bought 2 different trays (one for pie and a rectangle one) for the coleman oven but neither of them fit in the oven after I get it setup lol hence why I ended up with those tin trays. i'll give Shepards pie a try in the future! Sounds like a perfect dish for cooler weather, thanks for watching John!
I found on Etsy an insulator for the Coleman. It works great and the pizza stone def distributed the heat source. It’s still too hot here in Phoenix unfortunately winter isn’t coming. 😂
Nice!! i'll look into the insulator for the winter, we are still waiting for fall/winter to come to Vegas as well lol
Pot pie looked on point brother.. Meatloaf with a side of scalloped potatoes would probably come out right on that Coleman. Love your content 🤙🏼
I was surprised at how well that Pie pie turned out lol I have no doubt that some meatload and scalloped potatoes woudl come out great on it as well! Thanks for watching Marlon!!
Sarap❤❤❤
Yes!!! Thanks for watching!
Would love to join the Filipino adventurers. Live in Vegas and need some exploration buddies
lol with so many people commenting Filipino adventurers I may need to start a side group lol i'm hoping to get a group trip put togther sometime thsi year when the weather (someday) cools off lol Thanks for watching!!
Stick Figure!
Yesss! We'll be seeing them this Friday!
@Kadenventures me too I love RRU!!!
Yo Kaden, I ended up rebranding my UA-cam stuff as I hope to post about my van life travels at the end of the year. But I was chatting with you on the last couple videos about the Skotti. I did use charcoal in the Skotti this weekend and it went great, I think my only complaint is that the instructions are unclear on if I can use the cover as a heat shield and drip tray, when running charcoal. It calls out using it with gas, so I chose to not risk melting the bag and took a scrap piece of wood as a heat shield.
Yeah good call! I dont think i'd use the bag either as a driop sheild for charcoal or wood as it could get hotter than gas. Good to know it worked well with that heat source though! Thanks for the update and thanks for watching!! Where are you planning on heading first when you start van life??
@@Kadenventures I think just because of the weather I'm going to start in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, I've never visited the Porcupine Mountains up there, even though I've lived here my whole life. Be able to enjoy the fall colors and see some stuff I've never seen before. After that, I was considering a Route 66 trip for the winter to get me out of the brutal cold.
Hey Kaden, enjoyed your video. I'm going to order a pizza stone, so I can start using my coleman oven. Anyways getting my wrecking crew to ready to go camping in mount charleston in couple of days
Nice!! you guys dispersed camping or hitting one of the campgrounds?
@@Kadenventures lately, I have been dispersed camping. Saving money more 😎😎😎
Did you find that the pizza stone helped the food not burn at the bottom?
Yes! No burn at all on the Pie, breakfast burritos or cookies! Just had to keep a timer on the cookies so they didnt overbake lol
