A new detective asked a co-worker to bring his duty belt to the range. The co-worker shortened the belt by several inches prior to delivery. The face of the detective, when he struggled to put in the belt, was priceless. It still makes me giggle today. Slàinte Mhaith for 2021

You really could not have made the move at a better time. Being off grid you've been able to keep your family out of harms way both virus wise and in this political environment regarding police. You truly were/ are more prepared to deal with this year than most people. Now you live in an astounding beautiful area and you're free from the pressures of city life. What a blessing 🛤 ⛰

Hi guys, Keith here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, Hickory NC. I don't understand your fright...I had 100% confidence in the Suza family! In every video you posted, was pure fun, work yes, but you guys exhibited so much happiness, I couldn't see fear at all! These accomplishments have been your college, you're now tried and true! No way can you claim to be inexperienced! I've got total faith in you, could be problems, I mean there's always a possibility...but at worst, it may be a week past expected finish date. For sure, your house will be complete, the animals will multiply and the garden will produce! You need a grapple, a Weinstein winch, a plow, for garden, and a Woodmizer sawmill! I am waiting for your next post. You have plenty to do, plus moving cameras all day and hours of editing so I just gotta thank you for that, for putting big smiles on my face! 👍🚜❤🏞🤗

consider shredding cardboard and using it as bedding for rabbits and chickens. It also works nicely as garden mulch if you wet it so it sticks to the ground a little. cardboard is so useful, hate to see it burned up.

Since your crawlspace is about four feet deep, have you thought about framing another four feet above it for a basement? You can build your house above it with better views. Basements are taxed a lot less then living areas , and it will give you a lot of storage space attached to your house . It will also give your kids a lot of play space during the cold winter.

I hope and pray for all of you and our great country. I'm a disabled woman in my 60's, married to a wonderful man. We live pretty far away from our family. I have 3 kids and 3 grandkids. My eldest daughter got COVID about 4 months ago and is dealing with some after affects now, so it's hard to not be by her. I'm a Navy brat. My Dad was a Corpsman in the Navy, but most of his time was spent taking care of Marines. He did 4 tours in Viet Nam. My husband is also a Veteran. The Army. Two brothers, the Navy. Lol. 2 uncle's, and 3 cousins. 1 Marine and 2 Army. Anyway, I grew up knowing and learning respect, honor, faith, family, what our flag stands for, and most of all freedom. Your family reminds me of the other thing I learned, love for them all. You work hard, you have fun, and you love them all too. I can tell. My husband and I've talked alot about what we'd do when we retired. You're life sounds vaguely familiar. Lol. But, during my nursing career, something unfortunate happened. So plans changed. Watching your channel is good for me. I feel better. You make me smile and dream. I can't wait to see how your main home will turn out. And your gardens. I adore your sheep. Thank you for making me feel young again. Thank you for your service Jeremy!! I'm praying for 2021 to get figured out, and hopefully the way I hope. Freedom is the only way for this country. That's what we're all about. Take care and God Bless You and Keep You Safe and Well. 🙏❤️🙏

One thing that I keep thinking about is the difficulties in raising 3 kids while doing this. Especially, your 13 y/o daughter, I know mine was difficult about change when she was that age.

Thanks for the great video guys. I can't begin to imagine how many people and families have been positively impacted by your vision and ability to make it come to fruition. I certainly am inspired by the thought and work put into this. Thanks so much for doing this now as it is very informative and helpful to my wife and me.
Godspeed and God bless you guys.

UA-cam suggested your channel when I was searching for time lapse home renovation videos, it's been few days now I have watched almost all your videos and enjoyed every bit of it. Also, found your beautiful and talented daughter's channel... Subscribed to both the channels.
Your family is beautiful, Melissa 🥰❤️🙏 so are the pets and animals in your farm.
Much love and Godspeed on your dream house 😇

Thank you guys for your complete honesty, and opening your lives to share with all of us. We pray that 2021 is an amazingly blessed year for you. We love it! It is inspirational for us, even though we are pushing our 60s, it inspires us to chase our dreams of homesteading.

Use the plain brown boxes on the bottom of your raised beds. Just remove any tape or labels. It will keep the weeds down.
Hoping all the socks fit. And that you still have a few tortillas.

Mama Sue here!! I seriously can’t stop laughing from watching your little pats on the butt to a tackle throw down! This is another keeper to go back and watch to cheer me up! I’m having knee replacement tomorrow and this is just the dose of medicine I needed! I wore it out by playing so I will be back good as new! I hope your Christmas was everything you wanted it to be and I cannot wait to be entertained with your new house build! 2021 is going to be the best year ever! Love you guys like my own!❤️😘

I so enjoy your channel! Y’all have worked hard & accomplished much this year. Well on your way to achieving your dreams. Your land is so beautiful. The views are breathtaking! I am so glad to see Jeremy wearing protective gear, especially the chaps. I see so many not wearing them & I worry about them every time. I wish only positive things for your family this coming year.

Haaaaa! Jeremy looks like an old farmer on the tractor. Good work you two for the past year. The big move in April to the property and getting the tiny home ready. Planning for the new year. Everything falling into place. Good Simple Living! Just love the progress. Keep it up you two and the kids too! Praying for your safety and a better life there in Northern Idaho!

Good Simple Living has been a symbolic torch for many who struggle to attain the unattainable, but we embrace the desire to succeed, as you've shown us your courage to persevere. Happy you had a wonderful Christmas & pray the New Year will bring you many Blessings in your journey...

When you get a garden build raised beds with sheet metal and make hugeldorf beds, with organic material to build up compost in the beds then top it off with garden soil,. You'll get better produce and will save your back. Many homesteaders / gardeners are going to these type beds.

So in the mid 1950’s my dad and grandfather were clearing land, made huge slash piles and put tires around the piles with a little bit of diesel fuel and lit them off
Well he threw a match in one and nothing happened so he poured a little fuel into the tires and the flames came out and got him
He had severe burns over 40% of his body and they didn’t know if he’d make it
    He had skin graphs etc
Just be careful when burning the piles around your place

What an incredible year you have had! Isn’t it cool though to be able to look at how far you’ve come? I know the coming year will bring its share of discouragement and challenges, but all you need to remember is that when a family joins together, you can accomplish great things. I’m looking forward to following your journey. Be blessed!

Tip. next time use a paper cup for the dessel or gas. So you can throw it right into the pile each time so it cant climb back to your arm... it's a lesson you dont want to learn the way my hubby did! 🤣. We did our burn a few days ago aswell!
