      Hallo, Haben sie diesen Seiko Wecker noch in Gebrauch ?? Wie hoch ist der Batterieverbrauch ?? und können sie den Wecker noch Empfehlen? Danke für die Antwort...

    • @icecreamgecko
      @icecreamgecko  4 роки тому

      @@katjaruf9937 Der Stromverbrauch ist sehr gering. Seit dem Kauf habe ich zwei Ersatzbatterien eingelegt. Dabei waren noch nicht einmal alle "frisch". Im Moment benutze ich ihn allerdings nur als Tischuhr. Hier ist der Stromverbrauch natürlich etwas geringer. Empfehlen kann ich ihn immer noch.

    How does the alarm sound?

    • @icecreamgecko
      @icecreamgecko  4 роки тому +1

      It is an alternating beep that changes within the first few seconds to a properly annoying rythm. While I find it to be highly annoying it is encouraging you to do something about it... which I guess is exactly what an alarm clock should do. :)

    I have this model for approximately 10 years. Great luminous dial, hands in mine glow green, as the rest of the dial. Battery life in those is pretty long, more than 2 years. I have collection of vintage mechanical alarm clocks, but this is my main "workhorse" alarm clock.

    May I ask, how silent is your Seiko? For me, it's not quite silent, I'd say it's rather more noisy than a regular quartz with a step movement.
    Only instead of doing tick-tick-tick each second, it makes a twice more frequent sound like tick-tock-tick-tock.

    • @icecreamgecko
      @icecreamgecko  2 роки тому

      Mine is not completely silent either. I do hear it when there is little to no noise around but I have to hold it up near my ear to hear it under normal conditions. For me it is a very quick tick-tick-tick, but a lower pitched, mechanical one rather than the classic quartz-tick.

    • @KnightOfEternity13
      @KnightOfEternity13 2 роки тому

      @@icecreamgecko Yes, it's quite different from the quartz tick. I would compare it to the train wheel sound, just much more quiet. And the volume of it is somewhat between mechanical alarm and quartz.

      I just bought the Seiko qhe147 model.
      Power consumption is 0.18 miliamps, so it should last several years.

    Great review, I think I am going to buy a clock that has a gradually increasing noise, when the alarm rings.
    .
    Braun make one but I think there are some better ones, cheaper than Braun:
    Bentima Black Sweeper One Non-Tick Alarm Clock Silent
    £11.99

      I cannot find any writing regarding this on mine. But I do not think it is made in Japan.
      They probably would have put it on there then.

      SEIKO is my favorite brand of alarm clock.
      Movement, Parts are from Japan. (I think)
      And Made in Thailand (assembly parts), not China.
      As verified by SEIKO TAIWAN today.
      For reference only.

    I've purchased it, but I don't have such glowing effect at night as on your video. They glow just a little, like my old clock made 15 years ago. Also, numbers look more white than green. I don't know, maybe they make cheaper model for my country, or maybe my usual illumination is just not enough for the clock to accumulate enough energy.

    I've got to throw to the bin four Casio ones. Some have a wroken plastic dial wheel and some others do not make any noise when they should play the alarm, so I just won't buy any other Casio alarm clock. I've got a Seiko one working since like 30 years ago.
    I was needing another alarm clock and I've bought yours, so thanks a lot for your review. It's a bit of expensive, but you pay for what you get.

    how to remove the dial mate? the plasticky thing you mentioned to modify the hands/time.

    • @icecreamgecko
      @icecreamgecko  7 років тому +1

      The dial is held in place with a small flathead screw. It sits about 2cm deep inside the "dial-tube". You probably need a precision screwdriver for that.
