I saw the Police on the last show of the Ghost tour, opening act Dave Edmunds. For the last song of the night and tour, Sting announced that he always wanted to sing this song and tonight was the night. They brought Edmunds back on stage and sang Home on the Range. 20,000 people joined in. Thanks for your stories and video. See you next time.
Well described first concert experience! Glad they got better after that. My first concert was in 74 at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville. Wet Willie opened for The Gregg Allman Tour. Quite a show. Lots of songs from Laid Back. Enjoy your videos and I wondered if you would consider doing one on this topic: Albums that I have tried to love…and just can’t! As music lovers we read a lot of reviews and listen to a ton of music . How many times have I googled Best albums of all time from various publications. Some of the highest rated stuff I still can’t fully wrap my arms (and ears) around. Here’s a few: Astral Weeks- Van Morrison The Velvet Underground & Nico London Calling- The Clash A Wizard a True Star- Todd Rundgren Those are just a few. Not saying these are bad by ANY means- just don’t resonate with me as some of the greatest. Would love to hear your take on this Alex.
I saw the Police at Oakland Coliseum at a Bill Graham's Day on the Green. The Fixx, Oingo Boingo, Thompson Twins and Brian Adams. That was the year they started stopping shows if a mosh pit developed because people would start hitting and kicking each other. But this concert was close enough to San Francisco that there was a ton of love in the air, so the mosh raged on with no injuries. I saw the Stones on "Their Last World Tour" in 1982. lol When they kept touring for years I felt gipt.
Only Grace Slick got out of the game before she turned 50. But I do miss concerts that were affordable and featured 3-5 really good bands. I guess today money is made on tour and not selling albums. Thank you for watching
Most memorable would have to been Peter Gabriel's first album first solo tour! To see him perform out from behind all the costumes was mind-blowing. Best ever would have to be Olafur Arnalds. This is the only artist who actually made me "physically high" without drugs at a concert. I mean his music was popping off endorphins in my brain like I had just snorted a line of heroin. It was excitingly great! No other performance has done that, and I've seen hundreds of bands.

That does sound amazing. I never did get to see Peter Gabriel which is very disappointing. Thank you for watching
