At one point in this video, they mentioned some democrats criticizing this endeavor citing "lack of a coherent plan". And to that I say... "Welcome to conservatism". The term "lack of a coherent plan" elegantly sums up all of liberalism in just five words.
For over 50 years I've listened to democrats spouting poorly conceived, pie-in-the-sky, virtue signaling ideas. They never have any real plan for how to actually accomplish their ideas. They think they can merely pass a law or toss (someone else's) money at something and it will happen, as if by magic.
And over those same 50 years, the conservatives are always there, acting like the tired adults in the room, babysitting the children and trying to moderate the chaotic arguments. They always try to bring some sense of realistic expectations into the discussion, only to be met with tantrums and accusations that they are heartless and mean.
I guess sometimes the best approach is to let the toddlers get their way. Then you can sit back and watch them learn (the hard way) that their ideas weren't as great in real life as they were in their imaginations.

Here is what happened in Seattle some 20 years ago ish. The city came up with the idea to END homelessness in 10 years. The city hired an administrator to oversee the project. Guess what happened. If you were offered a well paying government job then asked to solve a problem would you? That would mean when you solved the problem you would be out of a job. So you would NEVER solve the problem and Seattle hasn't solved the problem.
One-third of homeless Americans live in California. The state grifts $millions a day, yet these needy people see nothing... where does the money go? Seattle does the same... solving homelessness would kill their cash cow.

Why don’t they just process their asylum applications. Anyone not coming from a war zones can be returned. Anyone who wants to migrate due to economic reasons will need to make an application from their own country. I don’t understand why it needs to be more complicated.

I think these migrants may think the US provides housing assistance like they do in Europe while their application are being processed but as far as I know the US doesn’t. It's not about black or white etc even here in England i can't even look after myself but we have to look after everyone in the world. Doesn't make sense.
Hate to be that person, but I think the financial exploitation just scratches the surface and it missing one crucial detail that those from the border have reported about the issues of encouraging this migrants to illegally cross the borders, and that's sexual exploitation. Think about it, how many of those people are that desperate to have a residence that they will sign up to get in a network where it's less likely authorities will have any way to reach them. How many of those in power are going to take advantage of this, probably one too many. Those patrolling the border have reported many cases of rape involved, sex trafficking, and NYC thought it was a grand idea to bring that mess into the city.
I want to know why the shelters can throw them out after 60 days but a regular homeowner has to let them stay if they stay longer than 30 days. In a home that they own.
