- The migrant crisis has been a national hot button topic that has hit home for the Capital Region.
It's been nearly a year since the first group of migrants were bussed into the Capital Region from New York City.
CBS 6's Tom Eschen, who has been covering this crisis from the beginning, led a town hall panel discussion May 6.

Pretty much it's a panel on how to make the process and benefits better for those who just showed up and said feed me, shelter me, give me legal aid and here are the complaints on how you can make it better.

I really don’t understand this. Of all the countries in the world, why are migrants coming here and here only. Why is there such an open door? I would think if I’m looking for a better life, I’d go to a country where I speak the language (to start), to make for less of a barrier to entry. I would not go to the most expensive city in the US with no plan! Even if you are granted a work permit, you still can not sustain on your own working in entry level service jobs in a place like NYC
