I used to work at a food processing plant, and let me tell you, you eat a lot of bugs in the food you're eating. Probably fewer bugs in the old food than there is now.
@@Jeeky88 yea lol don't drink much any more but always go whole bean but even then places for them to hide haha same with black pepper always grind it.

I’ve noticed the 1940s macaroni box design looks different from that of the 1950s. This box had a more antique look, whereas the 1950s one had a more modern look, including a plastic toy.
Flour bugs - also called pantry weevils, rice bugs, wheat bugs, or flour worms - are actually tiny beetles that feed on the dry food in your pantry. Flour, cereal, rice, cake mixes, and pasta are all favorites of these miniscule foodies.

I totally agree about the needless food dyes! I've can't have many dyes due to headaches, so I literally need to be an expert label reader 😟 Excellent video!! Have a wonderful labor day!
I completely agree about the probability of an antique dealer writing a price on the box. If I were an antique dealer I wouldn't write anything on an old box I considered an antique.
I was out shopping at an antique store and saw some old empty packaged food. The first thing I thought of was your channel. One of the best channels on UA-cam! Keep up the great work!
I have to say you are brave. Knowing there were bugs inside that box is enough reason not to try it regardless of how long it was cooking in boiling water.
Out of all the things you’ve eaten, this one seems the bravest to me! We are spoiled with all your new videos. Happy to see the Bulman’s can again too!
I’m a bit envy you, cos you have an opportunity to live the way I’d wanted to live: on my own land, in my own house, far away from the fuss n huss of the big city. Dreams, dreams…
Great stuff! I hate that they inject junk into food that doesn't need it. My peeve is companies adding sugar and artificial sweetener to canned fruits, when fruit doesn't need either. I enjoy your channels every time!
Enjoyed much, thanks! Still I have to say, if it was a matter of life and death, I’m pretty sure even these rancid macaronis can be of some service to keep you alive, never mind the actual taste. It’s a dry food, besides cooked in a boiling water, so it shouldn’t be hazardous to your health in any way.
You should make another outdoor camping video, The last one you made was pretty interesting and relaxing especially when you did some cooking inside the tent it was very cool 👍
The artificial colour thing is always weird to me, like.. you can just have it look the way it is instead of increasing the chances of cancer just because you don't like how it looks. lol The US is probably like "Hmm.. Gee, I wonder why cancer rates here are so damn high."
Thank you for sharing another awesome video with us! The culvert on my street is on about week 3 of repair, hoping they’re using material..excited to check it out when the project is completed
Man, I feel the same way about how the food companies in this country use artificial colorings in food. In other places around the world artificial dyes are banned from food ingredients. It's a shame, but people just keep buying the stuff anyway. Really enjoyed this one 🙌😁

That bug was living the dream. A whole box of sealed noodles, all for him, and safe from any predators.
You should invest into a straight slender knife like a scalpel or a hobby craft razor so you can better preserve and save these boxes
I really dug the contemplative shots of the water boiling and the vapor rising.
Got to 16:53 and my mum looked at the screen and asked what i was watching😂didnt bother explaining she wont understand 😂😂
Yes, the toys in a box were usually always junky but interesting
The look on your face when you realized it was a mistake eating the macaroni was hilarious 😂

Nice tip, thanks! 🙂
I thought adding salt was to prevent the pasta from sticking together while boiling but maybe I've been wrong all these years
Also the amount of salt was way too much to that tiny amount of pasta, especially if he is not used to eat salted pasta.
Salting water raises the boiling point of water, increasing the cooking temperature.
As Mario Batali says "Salty Like the Sea."

If you freeze your food products like that before you put them in the pantry, this will not happen.
