I booked a trip to Salzburg after randomly stumbling upon this video! My husband and I attended the Mozart dinner for our 25th wedding anniversary a couple nights ago and it was just perfect! Thank you so much!
I watched the McDonald’s documentary on Netflix. When he said that the founder was Ray Croc I immediately thought back. The whole documentary showed how it was created by two men who met Ray later in McDonald’s time as a restaurant. Ray helped them franchise out the company so they could get more brand deals and make more money. But Ray had a dream and thought the brothers were standing in the way and not allowing him to make McDonalds the biggest fast food chain in the world. He then convinced them to sell him the company and gave the 100 PERCENT equity, but he had didn’t give them even a penny. The older brother had a heart attack when he got the phone call that there was nothing they could do to get back the company. I hope some of you found this information helpful so you know the full context about the “founder”. Edit: Thank you so much for 1k likes!!!
He didn't scam though, Ray had a world-wide vision, the stubborn brothers couldn't see it or didn't care, whatever their reason was, if it wasn't for Ray, we wouldn't know of any MacDonalds.

George Lucas stole his whole Star Wars idea from the french Valerian Comics down to the look of the starships and characters, and I could go on and on. Its kinda upsetting that some companies only care abt their first ever restaurants, and while, yea, maybe *dont* keep the first 50 restaurants alive and kicking or just standing, but having the first three ever restaurants around would be pretty cool
Certainly, that restaurant was in a Rococo style of the 18th century, only 1000 years off. 800s would be Romanesque and there are very few examples of that left. You might see in Ravenna, Italy.
Hey Dylan, we hope you enjoyed your stay here in Salzburg and had fun dining at the world's oldest restaurant! Thank you for showcasing our wonderful city (and state)! Safe travels, and we hope to welcome you back soon! 🌍✈️
The reason the burger always tastes the same is because during the founding of McDonald, the franchising rules stated that ingredients used in everything has to be the same. Same brand, same place, same food.
Actually at one time the oldest current McDonald’s. I am from so cal and family is from Downey so very very familiar with that McDonald’s. In the 1970’s and 80’s the McDonald’s wa based on a franchise agreement with the brothers and not ray croc and was on private property not owned by McDonald’s. So they didn’t have items after ray croc bought the brothers out like the Big Mac or Chicken McNuggets. It was very odd to say the least. But as a kid it was funny no inside dinning. Also used to live in Salzburg. Great tourist town and so funny to say that isn’t Mozarts house to tourists. And their is a good McDonald’s next to Mozarts house in Salzburg.
I haven't found this to always be true. Specifically, I've found burger seasoning in different parts of the country to be different. Those served in the Northeast seem to be...peppered? Unless that's changed very recently.

Mistake: this is NOT the oldest restaurant in the world (Guinness records): Restaurante Botín in Calle de Cuchilleros, Madrid, Spain was opened in 1725 by a French cook called Jean Botín and his Asturian wife at the beginning of the 18th century with the intention of working for a nobleman of the Spanish Royal Court. Today the restaurant is run by the third generation of the Gonzalez family, Antonio and Jose Gonzalez. Located in the heart of Madrid near the Plaza Mayor it now has four floors which retain the original 18th-century interiors as well as the original firewood oven.

When my dad was 5, (year 1968) he went to McDonalds for the first time while on vacation to California. They didn’t have it in NY yet so he had never had it before. He was in California visiting family. When he was with his aunt, she took him to the McDonalds to get a Big Mac and a McFlurry. Ever since then, he has loved McDonalds.
They didn’t have McFlurrys there in 1968. McFlurrys didn’t start at McDonald’s until late 90s. During my high school days I worked there as a manager. Worked there from 1995 to 2000. Those are the better days of McDonald’s menu when they actually had salads and yogurt, bagel sandwiches, etc. Now you can’t even find a grilled chicken there at least in the area where I live. Food is crap there now.
I went to that mcdonalds. Also another cool thing about the oldest mcdonalds is that they still fry their apple pies instead of baking them. That is the only mcdonalds you can get fried apple pies.
My aunt lived right across the street from the actual 1st McDonald's in San Bernardino, California. It is a museum, but you can't buy any food there. That ain't it. He either bought the food somewhere else or that isn't in San Bernardino. And the founders are named.. McDonald's. Not Ray Crock

I live close by the world's oldest McDonald's. It's really cool because you see a bunch of old folks driving classic cars and parking next to this building.
I feel like the McDonalds that is in Vista, California is the OLDEST McDonalds because I remember eating there when I was a kid!! And that place is STILL AROUND today!! Crazy! But cool because I have good memories of playing there in the playground when I was a kid!
Wow! You know how to have fun! If I was in Vienna, I’d wear my tuxedo for dinner and above all, go to the Vienna Philharmonic! Just seeing the oldest restaurant on earth, following the oldest restaurant in the States would be so much fun. Just keep on doing what you’re doing as it’s really cool and entertaining to see all this.
Meanwhile, Restaurante Botín in Madrid, Spain, has probably been through a few leases. Founded in 1725, it's recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest restaurant in the world. Its oven has been burning for ovwr 300 yeara.

From the way the movie depicted Kroc: his mindset was basically if he sees something he wants, he’s gonna have it and do everything he can to get it” type of mentality .
Oh, nice, it's that time of the year, when Dylan posts a video

Seeing the oldest Mickey D’s shows how the chain has evolved from a very simple building to elaborate structures as the chain has grown. Just keep on doing what you’re doing as it’s really cool and entertaining to see all this.
It's just amazing that there is a restaurant that old

I used to go to the White Horse Tavern in the mid 80's when my husband was at the Navy War College. We couldn't afford dinner very often, but desert and coffee was our special treat.
